I have a SATA I cable from around 2007 - will it work in this drive or do I need a new cable? I am thinking of getting this for the Dell Vostro 3900 deal that was over the weekend.

This is a highly recommended upgrade for old laptops.
I bought one of these in February for £45, I only got round to installing it last weekend in my laptop which is 5 years old -HP G62-107SA
I decided to do a clean install of Windows 10, now it boots and I can be editing a Word document within 15 seconds.
2 years ago I upgraded the RAM from 2gig to 4gig, which helped a lot. And upgrading to Windows 10 last year was positive, but this upgrade is a night and day difference.

I post/ comment a lot on HUKDs (perhaps too much) but have never left a review on Amazon or any other commercial site other than eBay. I believe sites such as HUKDs are probably the best place to get impartial reviews of products or companies.
All eBay reviews have to be taken with a large pinch of salt. The "I'll scratch your back" factor is just an inherent part of selling / buying on eBay. The "Vine" reviews on Amazon are just a joke.

I totally agree. People vent anger and seldom post praise.
How many times have people purchased something and been happy and posted, compared to the one time they are angry? Even 10% bad reviews may be too many.
But, I purchased with PrimeNow £10 off! I can always sell it on!

Can't find it on Prime Now for me - it depends on which area you live in.:disappointed:

I'd say people are more likely to leave feedback if they have a problem, it's the people who are satisfied, but not blown away, who are least likely to.

Not really. Remember, not everyone leave feedbacks. I use the stats from 'real world' usage and my connections in IT industry. We buy hardware from a hardware suppliers directly as bulk ordering to get the best prices.
Just sharing, that's all. Sorry for trying to be helpful. :disappointed:

It's on Prime Now (Newcastle at least) for this price too. Use the £10 off code and get it for £32.99, bargain.

How does this compare against the Samsung Evo 850 250GB? It is obviously a lot more tempting at half the price of the Samsung.

Thanks. Ordered one to go with that Ebuyer Dell Vostro 3900 deal on here the other day.

I think you're being slightly OTT to be fair, mate. The 1 star (14.), 2 star (8.) and 3 star (21.) reviews don't even equate to the amount of 4 star reviews (80.), and that's even before we look at the 620 5 star reviews.

Sure, just click on one star review on Amazon - loads on there.
One of my friend work in IT at a school had to replace most PCs with this SDD to something else as the failure ratio was very high.

Do you mind backing that up with some evidence? I'm only seeing good reviews on both amazon and ebuyer.

Be aware that this device has a high failure rate. Something to be aware of before buying it.
