No - but some do. The Intel one in my work PC does make a small amount of noise for some reason.

No. But it replaced a Hitachi HDD that did!

And as the Dell is powerful the CPU isn't constantly under load like my old netbook with an ssd, so it's nice to have a super quiet machine again.

got mine yesterday at 12:20, cloned my old HDD over night and installed the new SSD this morning (had to dismantle the whole laptop to do it). Boots up now in a few seconds instead of over 2 minutes, lightroom opens in a couple of seconds instead of 30-45, well pleased :smiley:

Got mine installed in my new E6230. It runs like **** off a shovel, and it's so quiet too - barely hear the thing.

The whole installation process was so quick - new image of Windows installed and updated, reinstallation of Office, Acrobat Pro etc, data moved back across... Having a reasonably powerful laptop and a super quick SSD did it in no time.

The guy from Yodel was apologising profusely as it was delivered about 3pm, and not before 12 as it should have been. Really can't fault free next day Saturday delivery!

Mine arrived today too even though I didn't request Saturday delivery. Very pleased with the service from ebuyer. I agree with the comments that sometimes ebuyer's customer service can be a bit crap but with a three year direct warranty from SanDisk I don't care. I'd also add that if Amazon doesn't have competition from companies like ebuyer, it doesn't lower or match prices.

My drive is going into a Vostro 3900 which I'm building as a gaming and entertainment computer for my children. I was going to use an old 250gb drive but this was so cheap I decided to go with this instead.

Mine was set for Monday delivery (slip it in under "the radar" :smile: ) still turned up today. Can't fault them though.

Yodel phoned to say they wouldn't make it before noon, but would be by 3pm and was that OK.

Not really sure what choice I had! Did get a bit worried when I checked my tracking first thing and it said they'd lost it!

I've been looking at 240GB deals, was thinking about stumping up for a 250GB 850 Evo, although I don't need the extra performance of that; then for a few quid more I can pretty much double the capacity and not have to worry!

Which is better - this of the Crucial BX200? I bought the crucial a couple of weeks ago for £73 but would send it back for this if it is better.
