Just saw it in electronic section in holyhead tesco and they were clearing them all and had a few more in stock too.
Believe it is nationwide where they have them

If you can share your receipt purchase barcode, so others can check as Tesco had 3 variations
of this model over the last 2 years ;-) Thanks

My tablets seem to be on the way out both the Samsung 10.1, now 4 years old and disappointingly the hudl 2!!

yes fully agree Tesco sold a pile of these off through their ebay outlet rather than sell them online direct, not to mention the number of refurbs they sold was very surprising as well.

Been fine for me! Streaming music, whilst playing need for speed / hit man ... no issues whatsoever.
Only gripe is that there is not really a large selection of custom roms.

Nothing wrong with the cpu, it's the bloatware and touchwiz that lets it down. If this was running pure android this tablet would be a different beast altogether.

Decent price, I thought about one a few months ago but they were around £280-300. So I opted for the ipad mini retina at £220....part of thinks I should have got this though

I used 'say no to 0870' to get a direct number for a local store. Phoned and quoted the barcode, but none in stock, which didn't surprise me as it's the smaller of the 2 local stores.
However, he was able to check availabily in other stores and the local Extra had 5 in stock. They now have 3!! So thanks OP.

Yep, both fully charged now and done the basic setting up. Quite impressed with the fact that the apps we had on our Tab 3 8" have magically appreared on the new S 8.4"s.

Had one of these - kept over heating - battery running low quickly - restored it 3 times on the advice of Samsung - in the end I had to threaten legal action to get a refund - returned to my Note 8 - much happier

is there anything better spec at £150 today? I've got a tab s 10.5 but it never leaves the house, thinking of getting the 8.4 to use for work

Yes it was official over the air. Samsung had the S2 down for MM in May and they have delivered!

Looks like Samsung has blocked the adaptable storage whereby MM uses SD cards to act as internal storage. Have bought a 128GB card to use for this as well :disappointed:
paulandpam1
11 May 16#55
Yes they are available in certain stores.
You may need to ask an assistant to look in the stock room though if there is none on the shop floor.
I bought one yesterday from a Tesco in Liverpool and the woman said they had five more in the back. Unfortunately I could not live with all the crap Samsung had permantly installed on it and the awful Touchwiz ui and decided to return it a few hours later.
I'm going to stick with my Nexus 9 LTE.

I was tempted but after looking at comparisons between it and the shield tablet which I already own it seems the Shield Tab wins in most areas other than the screen. Not worth the switch it seems.
paulandpam1
11 May 16#57
Yes the Samsung screen is really excellent but I prefer a pure android system, it's also unbelievable the sh*te Samsung add to their ui and the unnecessarily complicated settings system.

Bloatware? Such as? Like Supatramp, I saw this deal in Kilmarnock yesterday, too.
I'd prefer a cellular tablet these days to my 3yr old iPad but a good Android device with expandable memory would suffice. Should I go for it?
