Yeah man, I was looking into insurance and saw how cheap it was for the whole year. I've still got a transparent Spigen case, will fling it on during a night out lol. Hmmm I registered 4 fingers in all kinds of positions lol, even upside down.

Hmm strange. I have my thumb registered in ever single position over 4 registered prints and it still doesn't like it if I cover the whole button.
Also saw your post on insurance and looked into it, the excess fee is pretty damn low too, so took it out. No more case for me it seems  Got the 5 quid cashbook too, so cheers for the heads up.

I've seen people on XDA who assume Android Pay won't work either with tripped Knox, but I haven't read up too much about it. Fingerprint scanner has been fine for me though. Only time it hasn't worked is when I've barely put a piece of my registered finger on it.
Managed to get 8 hours SOT today in a 20 hour period. Spent about 7-8 hours with low LTE signal too so pretty impressed.

The official samsung flip case is actually quite nice. Its very easy to remove the phone so you can stroke it (c'mon, you know you do it), and offers good all round protection in addition to waking the screen when you open it.
Used to hate the older samsung flip covers too, but this one feels nice.

I wouldn't worry about resale value on a Samsung phone, as it'll be half the price after barely a few months anyway.
To put it into perspective, a £640 phone should not be selling at launch on Gumtree for £500 new and sealed. If it was an iPhone it'd be bang on RRP.
A year after the similarly priced S6 Edge was released, it was going for £250 and lower on gumtree in mint condition. It's a trend that has always been with Samsung phones, regardless of rooting or not.
And as for Samsung Pay, meh. Android pay will be out here before Samsung pay by the look of it now. End of May for Android pay, and various systemless root tweaks still allow the use of it. Samsung pay was supposed to be out before May, but now they're saying sometime this year.
Everyone's different though. I'll use Android pay at some point, but in all honesty the novelty of Apple pay with my iPhone 6 wore off after the first week, and I usually had my wallet with me anyway.
Oh and the iPhone fingerprint reader was bad enough to get working with Apple pay at the best of times, it wound up being way quicker pulling out the wallet and slapping a contactless card down on the reader. The Samsung fingerprint reader is just as awful on the S7 as last years S6, so I wish you the best of luck with that one

There aren't any good screen protectors, some Spigen cases have actually broken the tempered glass ones whilst the film ones feel awful. I just went with Gadget Cover and got a full years insurance instead. 20% discount code on their site plus £5 TCB makes it £57 for the year including theft and loss.
galactus2013
6 May 16#129
I might root but I don't want to destroy the resale value next year when I sell it. Knox tripped, Samsung Pay gone forever due to eFuse being tripped. Will be absolutely SOL if Samsung Pay comes out in the next 12 months in the UK

It is the undisputed king of smartphones when it comes to battery life, plain and simple.
To put it into perspective, you'd be lucky to hit this in a full charge and a day of usage with the HTC 10!
Oh and to any rooters, you need the surround mod for this phone. It changes the audio experience significantly, and a very similar setup to the HTC 10 (top speaker for treble and mids, lower speaker for lows and mids).

I'm in love with it. I had seen one up front a few times, used a mates etc. Being able to actually use the device though with my setup, everything seems solid. I actually had a HTC 10 up for pre-order, then all the stories about delays and the US getting it first, CPW changing pre-orders till the 18th May, same with Amazon so I just thought to hell with it. Worst case scenario I can send it back within 7 days or if I get tired in a few months, sell it and get something else. Can't complain though. Would've have liked more power from the headphone out. Sounds good, volume is loud enough but thats cranking it up to volume steps 13 out of 15.

Thought I would come back and share my experience after trying to call them about my cancellation.
It was easy enough through on the phone to someone, but to get the 25% discount applied again and the desired delivery address has been a bit of a nightmare... as that code doesn't work anymore.
After clearing up with their fraud department that my order is genuine, I was put through to sales to order again during which the call got cut off. Called back got passed around a couple times and was "lucky" enough to get someone (a manager I think) who was able to give me 25% discount, but chose the wrong delivery address. I was then put through to a customer service person to change the delivery address. They then cancelled the order to add another one which then was not able to apply the discount and could not get hold of a manager…
I was never able to speak to a manager after that and right now I have another order at full price of £699+p&p and promised that another department will refund me the difference…

I've seen contracts where people end up paying 1000+ for a contract + the phone. So I'm a bit annoyed when people criticise others for buying upfront. Just saying

You are partially correct with what you have stated, there are only 3 regions like you suggested...however, within those regions Samsung do issue country specific models which will have the local mobile bands and firmware associated to that country.
So if you are in the UK, the best S7/S7 Edge to buy is the global " UK model"...although obviously that means the price is higher than those other region grey imports.

Awesome price. Lots of people moan about prices of phones these days, but the edge was worth every penny of my 650. Best phone since the Note 2, which as anyone who has ever used one will tell you was unbeatable for years.
Skinned touchwiz with a black theme, debloated with package disabler, custom icon pack, sorted.
You'll need root if you want to make the loudspeaker bearable though. If anyone wants good viper settings to actually make it usable, I can post them.
Yes the updates will be slow as per Samsung, but it really is at the point where security patches are the only real updates needed.
Oh and headphone/bt quality is exceptional provided you're using sensible audio equipment (no powerful amp in here).
Long been a hater of Samsung since the note 2, so it's nice to see them listening again.
Exynos is way better than the crapdragon 820 too. Less heat, and software is better optimised for it. I can get 10h SoT in a day if I avoid music streaming and gaming. It's crazy.
Topper1900 to striker33
1 May 161#33
LOL you say it's a good phone but then say you need to root it etc to rid the phone of the bloatwear!
As far as the SOC I think you are confusing the 820 with last years 810 as LG & HTC don't seem to be having any major over heating problems. At the end of the end when the can pick up a bloatwear free HTC for £400/450 then paying £200 for the S7 hardly seems a HUKD.

Oh and to any rooters, you need the surround mod for this phone. It changes the audio experience significantly, and a very similar setup to the HTC 10 (top speaker for treble and mids, lower speaker for lows and mids).
S-View case is about £25 on amazon too, I pushed to boat out, got the screen protector, S-View case and the Fast Wireless charging stand.
My order is below and was placed at 15:40 on 2nd May
It was easy enough through on the phone to someone, but to get the 25% discount applied again and the desired delivery address has been a bit of a nightmare... as that code doesn't work anymore.
Thinking of giving them a call since they have yet to reply to my email and have never been able to get through on their live chat.
Kind of doubting how reliable this deal is as well as the company tbh.
Like it says on the Very website, promo code CPXM7 is valid until 31/05/2016.
I've seen contracts where people end up paying 1000+ for a contract + the phone. So I'm a bit annoyed when people criticise others for buying upfront. Just saying
S7 Edge = Curved edge screen
Comparison
Edge = 3600
Flat = 3000
Battery life reports with the Edge have been pretty amazing tbh.
You'd be better off throwing your money in a well and wishing.
£37.99 is a reasonable price IMO, rather than most places charging near enough £100 between the edge and flat.
Guess I must be old.
you ask me a holiday is just wasting money, where this is something you use and can sell on.
By the way I own one

So if you are in the UK, the best S7/S7 Edge to buy is the global " UK model"...although obviously that means the price is higher than those other region grey imports.
I thought the UK didn't get the octa core variant :smirk:
It's crazy.
As far as the SOC I think you are confusing the 820 with last years 810 as LG & HTC don't seem to be having any major over heating problems. At the end of the end when the can pick up a bloatwear free HTC for £400/450 then paying £200 for the S7 hardly seems a HUKD.

Imagine IPAD PRO 9.7 INCH WIFI 128GB Sold at £759 When apple, Argos are all selling for £619.
Even with the 25% discount i would rather pay the £50 discount and buy from high street.
Same. Please compare prices and factor in thier so called discount before buying anything there. THis deal works ok for the S7. but that is just about it.
Yea unfortunately the black is only available for the edge model
