Picked up 2 in my local Superdrug (Daventry) this morning. Model 9081. Comes with a 15 year guarantee. They have great reviews on line. Absolute bargain!

Seems to work out quite well considering this is 500 degrees.
Why should anyone have to prove anything to you?

Maybe it's your weight that's bouncing between 10 & 20 stone?

I've had a set of Salter kitchen scales for around 5 years, I've never had a single issue other than the battery need changing once. They are still very accurate and working fine.

Good find, but nothing anywhere near this price online.

No, my store doesn't normally stock these, I think they have just been brought in for clearance purposes. x

Salter scales are junk. Have a set of the ones that tell you your fat and water content. They have a very long guarantee but every 4-6 months they go haywire and won't settle, bouncing between 10 and 20 stone and then giving up and switching off. New batteries in, it's not the batteries, back to Argos for an exchange under warranty, i'm on my 5th set in 2 years.

Think you are just unlucky, or the particular model you have has some issues. We have Salter bathroom and kitchen scales and have been using them for years without any issues

Their customer service is fantastic.
Contact them and they'll probably send you a new set without having to return the faulty one.
You just need proof of purchase and a photograph of the issue etc.
Hope you get it sorted.

So is this how someone gets a hot deal? No proof, no receipt, nothing. How does that work out?

Ours show a different weight when you first step on them, you have to step off to reset it then it shows the correct weight,

I agree. My experience is the same. This company has to have the best customer service ever - you can even hear their smile on the phone.

Bought a similar product (Weight Watchers branded) from Tesco for around £3 a couple of years back - thought that was a bargain. These tip the scale though!

I have a set of these they are innacurate as ****, Tuesday i was 18 stone 9 according to these, yesterday 19 stone 4.
I've just been weighed at the new GP's , i'm 17 stone bang on.

I'm pretty sure weighing scales aren't able to accurately measure your fat and water content anyway. You need to be properly tested for that.

5 May 16#29
From my experience they are extremely happy to do so. Can't rate them highly enough.

Clicking the link on the right side doe not open the scale webpage and I did not find it on Superdrug website. What's wrong?

It's not about proving anything to me, it's about proving this is a legitimate deal otherwise anyone can post a made up deal. I'm not saying this is a made up deal but there's no proof at all that this exists, other than OP's words.

So every in store deal should have proof posted? If you don't think it's genuine don't go for it

Yeah, I believe so. A picture of a receipt is simple to upload. Gives faith that the post isn't a dud.

And how will that stop people making a wasted trip if its a local reduction rather than national?

I thought that this was meant to be a site where we all help each other out??? Whatever happened to that good old-fashioned mentality where we actually believe what our fellow human beings say - without having to question them?
C'mon, it's a set of scales; not the answer to world peace!!.... I'm sure FoxyCoxy didn't post this just to get high on the heat added??! I guess some people on here need to get out more! ;-)

They have conductivity strips on the scales that I have, working on 2 frequencies, one for fat, one for water. They might not be the most accurate, but results are comparable and repeatable so are increase or reduction can be seen.
The main point of my post was to forewarn - keep your receipt people, you may well need it buying Salter personal weight scales. 5th set in 2 years!
monkeyhanger75
8 May 16#43
Splitting hairs here, but a set of kitchen scales designed to weigh maybe 2-5kg is not the same as a set of bathroom scales, and 5 sets in 2 years tells me they're not very good. With such a lng warranty it is well worth keeping your receipt as you may well need it.

8 May 16#44
In the space of 10-20 seconds when the scale is settling (or not), of course...Do you write Christmas cracker jokes in your spare time?

I always get sorted out, i'm on the 5th set under warranty in 2 years, keep taking the old ones back to Argos. May be a problem when my model gets discontinued and they have no equivalent to swap with.
