Excellent value in my opinion. I've just painted a fence with this stuff today and it has turned out great :)

It is best applied with a good old fashioned paint brush and taking your time, to get as thick a coat as possible. My fence didn't come out perfect and needed a 2nd coat a year later, but it turned out better than my neighbours, who used same paint with a sponge. Avoid sponging it on!

It's alright everyone saying it's crap, but why don't they back it up with suggesting a cost effective alternative that's any better.

Looks well when applied at first -But does not last - poor quality paint - will last a year max if you are lucky.............

I have also done a new fence , bought this stuff a few weeks ago, mix paint well and used cheap brush and sploshed it on, should last 2/3 years, if not, still got half a tub.

used a few years ago on my shed lasted a good few years and neglected shed so had a few rotten panels and changed them and used the rest of that paint, went on great and looks great. you do have to give it a good stir and would have to say prob. 2 coats depending on your brush, cheap nylon brushes don't paint well, a good quality brush will hold paint and release it more effectively on to the timber and prob do it in one coat.

Agree with comments. Never found one coat ever works on any surface. Minimum of two coats, even varnish on front doors. I always use a brush. Wilkinson external wood finish is very cheap, and looks nice with three coats, but has gone green this winter after 7 months. Maybe the weather conditions of wet and mild did not help.

This has been this price for past 3 years - and to be honest I slap this stuff on good and thick and every year it needs done again - just don't make it like they used to

This has been posted so many times over the years. Anyway, as mentioned, one coat my a***. Ronseal three coat would be more appropriate.

As I used this 3 years ago on the same fence panels and it last 3 years and still looked ok , but am not just am ok guy so I gave them another 2 coats . If it last 3 years am happy but I would say it lasts 4-5 years but am very fussy as soon as it starts fading I re coat

Also can recommend this , just painted 27 of my fence panels , gave them 2 coats so the colour lasts longer . But great product , it's also on offer at screw fix for £8.99 with HB don't have any

How can you recommend it if you've only just painted your fence panels?
I've used this product twice over the past 3 years (more fool me) and the sleepers I painted with it (two coats last summer), already need painting again.

you just answered your own question- you have used it for YEARS! This stuff needs to be re-applied pretty much every year or even faster if you want to look it fresh.
Also 1 coat my a$$... more like 4-5coats to get decent finish on fresh timber.

Great deal. Researched prices today of this and similar makes. This usually retails at £8-£12.
Closest I found was Johnstones FenceCare 9l in The Range at £7.99.
Asda may have it, or might not. It's not on Asda direct so still worth 99p to guarantee collection.
I'll even pay it when I need about 6 tubs, rather pay £6 extra than mess about chasing around ASDA.

This paint is Currently on offer in Asda (nationwide in-store only?), and more choice of colours for £5 per tub down from £8.
Puts the offer in the shade I'm afraid.
