aptX codec
Built-in rechargeable battery.
Makes any amp Bluetooth capable (despite the blurb implying 'Roberts only')
JL still want nearly £50 for these!
I haven't posted a deal for ages so please forgive me (wont you?) if I've made a right mess of it.

I posted the price @ £9.04. It still is £9.04 as I type. So why does it now show £13.99?

Ahh, sorry. I ordered 3, that made the postage under £3. --- I said I'd make a cock up didn't I?

Chromecast audio for £15 (Curry's offer, comes and goes) is, IMO, a better piece of kit providing better sound quality. Bluetooth can be temperamental IME.

Yes, and this explains why these are going cheap. You can't use the Chromecast without a network connection though, so Bluetooth still has a place, and with aptx this one should be good.

It's hard to get chromecast to work with all audio outputs though, so you can only really use it for things you can play in Chrome.

Can these be powered by usb (I can't tell by the pic)? Does it say on when connected to power? I'm asking as I'd like to add it to my car and the current one has to be turned on every time I get into the car which is a bit fiddly.
*Edit* - Ah they can be power by bluetooth. Are they "always on" while connected?
Thanks!

It reverts to the rechargeable battery when mains power is turned off
It reverts to the rechargeable battery when mains power is turned off, so probably would have to let the battery fully discharge to test that.

Showing as 13.99 plus postage. Doesn't seem to be on prime either.

Most apps I have on Android allow you to cast. Failing that Bubble UPnP will do it. But of course you are both correct - no network = no tunes with Chromecast.

Nearly £19 now! - HUKD members you stand accused of upsetting a big retailer :stuck_out_tongue:

Available on Ebay from same supplier for £13.99 delivered.
As it was when I first posted the deal.
Buy 3 at £9.04 & the total postage was £2.95, so each one was £10.02.
Freepost is a con for multiple purchases.
Q is: Why would they increase the Amazon price and not ebay?

Do you need to wake it from sleep when connecting? I mean could I leave it plugged into a 12v slot in the car and not have to press any buttons on the device to connect with it when I turn the car on (it'll just get the power when I turn the car on)?
Thanks!

Ah yeah, that's true - thanks! It looks like it's a hardware on/off switch - so hopefully if power is supplied it'll come back on. It's the button on top I'm worried about

I reckon you'd have to press the top button for sure.
