I'd been watching this in case the price dropped to £175 again, but it's now even less. Other models are available from the same seller with similar discounts. The 3+ Silver and 3 Black are both £129.99.

It's got a 12 month warranty surely you could just return if it wasn't working?

I always buy fuji refurbished cameras from the fujifilm UK website. Refurbished fuji cameras have a lower failure rate than new cameras as they have all be individually hand checked by technicians. I have never received a refurbished fuji that was distinguishable from a new camera and I have never bought a dud. I did buy a new fuji many years ago I had to return under warranty as it had a fault.

Judging by Ebay prices, at least £70...
(I guess we are on a deals website for differing reasons  )

Leave the bargains for the rest of us then
(This is the GoPro Ebay store. It isn't some tin pot Argos style operation where they bring stuff in, stick a refurb sticker on it, and send it back out).
Speaking of action cameras - I managed to pick up a Sony AS200V from Gumtree for £70 delivered (arrived this morning!). Including 2x official batteries, 1x 64GB UHS-1 Class 10 card, an official Sony selfie stick & wall charger. Having used GoPro's in the past, I don't think I could sacrifice the audio quality and the steadyshot of the Sony. The difference is really amazing!

Sadly " refurbished etc" as on any electronic device ,means it has been returned as the customer can't make it work properly . , or maybe changed their mind about the purchase . The seller may run standard tests and then resell as "tested " or refurbished . Maybe its just me but I would never buy a refurbished , reconditioned electronic item as its a 50/50 whether the item (particularly Laptops) was fixed ,was ok all the time , or maybe resold with the same fault it was returned for after running a quick test ,that presumably the consumer would do anyway .

Fair enough - I'm just not comfortable with refurbs , recons ( bad experiences ) - so I'll leave you with your " bargains " - saving - how much ? Hardly worth it in my very humble opinion , but possibly great for some .

I'd probably have bought a new one if the cost was comparable, but the cheapest I found was virtually double the price!
Individuals on ebay often class used items as like-new or refurbished when they aren't, so watch out for that. I didn't feel there was any risk in this case, and it's probably safer buying from here than some places that sell them new

Whats the difference between this and the hero4 version? Can only really find the number of frames recorded in the hero4 is better at 2.7k and 4k?
What do you get with the 4 that you don't with the 3?

from what I can see the black 3+ is equivalent to the 4 silver apart from an LCD screen which can be bought for £28 on ebay

I bought a hero 3+ when PayPal have the save 20%. But the price was slightly more then. It arrived and was like new. All accessories where new in bags. It seems the only thing g that is different is the box that it arrived in, that being a brown cardboard box with GoPro all over it instead of the clear plastic display box in the shops.

Here is my trip to Iceland filmed on a 3+ Black edition
In most cases they are returned units. I've bought refurbished Apple products quite a few times , and could not tell they were not brand new. Yes you run a risk that you will receive an item that has a scratch or a dent etc, if you are not happy return it. You cannot go wrong with an returb with a full warranty.

I used to work in a shop(2004) that took in broken Ps2's and gave out refurbished ones from Sony instead.
The refurbs were done to a higher standard, and we never had a return on them.
All depends on the company but I wouldn't rule out a refurbished model anyday.

Heat! Damn, could've done with this last month. Needed a last minute camera for a trip so for the same price I picked up a Hero 4 Session. Which is cool and all, but has clearly inferior PQ.

Good deal OP, for anyone looking for an action camera around the £100 mark I recommend the Gitup Git2. It can be had from Amazon or from gearbest, Banggood etc for £80 but risk customs charges and long delivery etc.

I've also gone for this, needed something to fashion as a dash cam as well as some for time lapse videos. This will cover both my requirements.

I looked at the comparison videos on YouTube before eventually buying my Sony AS200V. In the comparison video I saw, I thought the Xiaomi Yi had much nicer video than the GitUp (less contrasty, better shadow detail...and less of a digital/over sharpened feel). I'm sure it's a good camera....but I just can't see why it is considered to be the best budget action cam.
True. Just use a smartphone for framing the shots etc...works much better.

Just Ordered the Hero 4 silver, I would go for the Hero 3+ silver/black however after looking at comparison videos the hero 4's sensor seems marginally better, it also in my opinion has better colour tones than the 3+.

If it's got wi-fi can't you link your phone and use that as the screen. Sure I read somewhere wi-fi go pros did that.

There is a recent firmware update that really improves all aspects of the camera. YouTube video compression seems to have a worse affect on the gitup video than others

missed it, they have a few different models on offer though, I am tempted by the 4 silver, they have it for £219, does anyone know if this is a good price?

I've seen some go for £185 on eBay so not the best deal. Typical that I missed this deal after looking for the last week. Gone with the 3+ silver instead... Hopefully that's an OK alternative

YouTube videos like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3JzjfohcDAE can be helpful to compare the quality out of the box.
