I am no expert on tablets and but I doubted what you said about the difference in cpu.
The MT8163 chip found in the iconia B3-A20 antutu score is about 30000
The MT8121 chip found in the Lenovo A10 antutu score is about 17000
The MT8165 chip found in the john lewis Lenovo Tab 2 antutu score is about 34000

Both cheaper tablets return 7hrs+ battery life on continuous loop testing whilst the tab 2 returns 12 hours

I have owned an acer b1-740fhd which I thought was decent so I would not be concerned about buying another acer.

For me its a shootout between the refurb acer b3-a20 for £60 or the new lenovo tab 2 from john lewis for £110.
The lenovo has twice the ram, much longer battery life, full HD screen, 2 year warranty and slightly faster cpu but at £50 more.

I think I will put a seperate post up about the Acer Iconia as it does appear good value at £60

​i wouldn't recommend the Acer as their tablets are very budget and prone to breaking plus it has a smaller battery and the processor difference is minimal.

if you're going to spend more get the Lenovo a10 2 Pad from John Lewis 109.99, if you spend any more than that you're leaving budget tablet territory folks xD

Cos he's talking about Android as a system for security, in terms of the OS yes it isn't Lollipop or anything super new, so if you want the latest OS then you shouldn't get this tablet, its not old, but its not the latest either, it runs on Kitkat

What OS does this tablet run, and is it an old version of that OS? Answer those 2 questions and then explain why it's irrelevant.

Yes but different types of RAM, RAM isn't all the same, but yea 1GB each, so won't rlly make much difference. Like I said, very similar but this is v. cheap so

If by z1 you mean Sony Z, then go for Lenovo I say.

Lenovo has a better CPU and GPU, a bigger battery, and the Z is hella expensive

I got this tablet refurb from argos looked new and was £10 quid more not long ago.

Not true, while it is not as god as brand new tablets (obviously) it is enough. Nexus 7 had 1GB RAM and was amazing

Acer has slightly more up to date Android
Lenovo has slightly better RAM and bigger battery

Same CPU, basically same GPU, same resolution, go for cheapest virtually no difference

Acer has newer Android 5, Lenovo older android 4

Only 1gb ram with old Android version. Only suitable for kids. Old Android versions are full of bugs and security nightmare as no patches for viruses or other vulnerabilities

This tablet has FM radio too.

Still a great deal. I just wish Lenovo would get their act together and offer some ongoing customer support once they sold their consumer items.

Can't comment on their updates all I know is its a major discount from selling price

1.3Ghz quad core processor should be able to handle a game like Boom Beach fine

If its a simple 2D game like Angry Birds it probably will. On the other hand, if its a recent complex 3D game, you may need something with a bit more power.

I agree, resolution should be better, for 140 quid hell nah, buuuut for 68, its a damn good buy. If I didn't have a Hudl 2 ^^
