Don't think you need a multi-year warranty on a pair of speakers? There's very little to go wrong if you don't abuse them.

If you want a better deal, Richersounds have a 6 year guarantee -
Amusing how HUKD works sometimes, the same deal direct from Richer Sounds with a 6 year warranty posted a couple of hours ago has no where near this heat.

Agreed HUKD sometimes moves in mysterious and stupid ways but it's probably as people know and trust amazon more as a company and get vouchers and people are just quicker on the hot button when they see a camelcamelcamel lowest price.

Still sold and sent by Richer Sounds though!

Flubit gave me £69.98 but i'm assuming no 5 year warranty so best off paying the extra.

just want to point out nobody at any point has said richer sounds is a bad company, very sweet of you to jump to their defence though.

The Richer Sounds one was posted 10 minutes after mine. That's the only reason it didn't get more heat...

But it's still the better deal...

I agree on that. Tell the kids to stop poking their fingers or it will explode.

Well it's not like you can get these speakers without it so your point is kind of pointless. Also it's better in this situation to have and not need rather than need and not have.

Anyway... Back to the speakers.... They're awesome... Although I've got the even better 3000 series surround sound system...

It's pretty much pointless because Q Acoustics gives 5 years warranty on them.
Factory faulty not-active speakers dies in the first week or so. Never after that.
BTW great speakers once paired with subwoofer (like all of the small bookshelf's) but however is after them please have a look on a High Gloss White ones.
You going to fell in love with quality of their finish.

If you buy an amp, yes of course.

Tempting... for front part of my surround... to replace my ageing front standing sony speakers! (10 years old!). Not sure how they compare... time to research.

"Frequency Response - 68Hz - 22kHz"
Does this mean you can't hear below 68Hz from these speakers?

Yes, why would you want to?

Is it worth getting these to replace FL and FR on a 5.1 home theatre system?

It'll probably roll off from there. It's not a brick wall.
More bass

I got a pair of these a few months back - lovely quality, and not bad bass response for their size. Play everything from metal to classical music and they handle it all really well - just don't expect super bass heavy sound - but what there is there, is nice and tightly handled. (I have them paired with a cheap stereo amp, as opposed to a cheap 5.1 amp).

For one horrible moment there I thought that was the frequency response.

They're only rated 86db so not your best choice. They will of course work, but your amp would run out of steam very quickly.

Yeah true that. A rare exception would be a coil burning out but that's more likely due to user error. Driver rot doesn't usually kick in till 15+ years.

Negligible bass below that frequency. It's a bit high for my liking they will sound quite thin. You might place them close to a wall for bass reinforcement, but they are always going to sound weedy.
Tons of bargains on the second hand market!

Thin is a smartphone speaker. They sound far from thin.

Guys I have those for years now. They are lovely.

68Hz bottom end .. they cannot sound anything BUT thin, just like every other bookshelf speaker which rolls off around this frequency. Most of the impact of a bass drum falls below this range. They might sound lovely, but OF COURSE they will be thin !! I'm not comparing the sound to a mobile phone speaker.. that's crazy talk.

Mind you, the bass will roll off around that point, it doesn't just stop at 68Hz. Plenty of room for drum kicks to sound punchy and good. I've heard these. I didn't have complains about lack of bass. If you want sub bass then obviously, search elsewhere.
