You can, PSN takes preference on credit but if the funds are insufficient it will ask for payment method for the remaining balance.

There is a full backup feature that you can use to backup all content on the PS4 to an external hard drive (including game installs/game data/users/settings/captures), you just need a hard drive big enough for all that. - You can then restore this backup onto a new hard drive.
You do still need to do the system software download and install after replacing the hard drive though.

Same here, although I wasn't 100% sure. From what I recall its only let me do it once or twice, where I've been a quid or two short on a purchase.

God of war bought cheers never played any of them and I have over 200 games across ps3 and Xbox 360..

Recently bought the HD collections and acension so this is all I need..

Going to spend hours catching up on these now as I've just 100% dark cloud on ps4!... Again :wink:

Beyond two souls and heavy rain for ps4 has been reduced by 54% to 15.99

I don't think there is a minimum top up, I'm sure I had to pay an extra £0.65 on top of my credit and it deducted it at that amount.

I'm tempted to buy Heavy Rain for £11.99 but convinced this will be mega cheap on the Canadian store like Beyond was.

I also want Murdered Soul Suspect, but then I'm convinced it'll be in Plus in a few months.

Finally, RE6 is bound to be £7.99 this year...

Because sometimes (like in this sale) digital versions cost less and you don't have the clutter or fuss of using discs or have to wait for them to arrive or deal with the possibility of damaging them.

Can't comment on this I haven't noticed, I have only bought from the flash sales I think though and my back catalogue of games to play from doing this is big enough not to be looking between flash sales.

Usually cheaper by a good amount but as I've said elsewhere the big sales over there usually pretty poor prices might be better if stuff is in the sale BUT the amount is always a lot smaller

well went for god of war 3 remastered, god of war collection , banner saga and gravity rush remastered , star wars ps4/ps2 games and shadow complex remastered from Canadian store, uncharted 4 and doom next week and bought dark souls 3 and dirt rally at the weekend my wallet hates me and the the mountain of game backlog grows even bigger. so much for this site saving people money

It won't be that, I can pretty much guarantee it. In fact, the price and demand for that is most likely to rise because people will finish A Thief's End next week and then feel like playing the prequels.

The difference is that Steam have two factor authentication though whereas Sony don't and Steam is only a 100% open platform so is far more open to exploit than Xbox or PSN. Sony are just generally terrible at security.

It isn't as simple as that. You need to download a full build of the OS on a separate USB drive (a full build that isn't exactly easy to find on Sony's website either) and then re-download everything from scratch because game installs cannot be moved at all. Plus game saves have to be moved individually or downloaded from the Plus cloud individually and not all games support cloud saves (e.g. FFVII doesn't).

Simply put, it's ridiculous.

a lot of company's do it not just sony. steam is another example. they get charged every time there is a charge back and a few other reasons i cant remember

Like a few of us have said, you do have a point most of the time, this case is just a rare exception of Europe getting a decent sale for once. I personally buy almost all of my PSN content from overseas (US, Canada, Japan etc) because the UK prices are normally ridiculous.

IIRC doesn't it still add a minimum top up though e.g. If you're £3 short on your balance then it adds a £5 top-up?

I think the only reason that they haven't is that Sony are absolutely terrified of external media. It has been the cause of almost every hardware exploit on their consoles since the PS2 (FreeMcBoot, the Pandora Battery, PSJailbreak, PSP UMD emulation etc). That was why they insisted on creating a crappy and overpriced bespoke memory card format for the Vita and it is my guess that they only reluctantly added USB ports to the PS4 because it would have been hard to sell it as a home media device without them.

For those asking - don't give Sony card details! Or Paypal details for that matter! I am one of many who got stung from doing so and ended up with a much unwanted copy of FIFA 16 bought using my details. It wouldn't have been so bad if Sony would acknowledge and refund such things but no, they were very poor to deal with and about as unsympathetic as you can get.

Fair point. Plenty of games like LBP 3 where there are examples of them being available for 50% of the price we get. If I didn't have a point then there would be nobody buying games from the U.S./Canada/Brazil at all. What would be the point of our prices were the same??

On the Canada store, Gravity Rush was £14 last week and that was the lowest price it had ever reached anywhere until now.

in that case you really arent looking hard enough, plenty of good deals a few even cheaper than a physical version

thats one of the things i love about my xbox one. have my internal 1tb and external 3tb and a 2tb. Sony really need to allow the use of external drives even with 1tb i keep having to delete stuff.

Tell me about it. I was in the middle of a serious Destiny obsession when they temporarily banned me for a fortnight due to charging back. Was held to randsom and told I needed to clear my bill before I could play on. Was even told verbally "yeah, dont worry, we'll refund you once you do it" and "oh, totally, we'll find and ban who did this" but lo and behold, when it came to the crunch - no refund and "it's impossible to find and ban who did this"!

That's nuts considering most people only have a 500GB drive in their PS4. At least the Xbox allows you to easily use external storage I suppose. I recently upgraded my PS4 to a 1TB HDD and it was far more complicated than it should have been.

Battlefield 4 plus all map packs clocks in on PS4 at just over 100gb apparently, is a close 2nd.

But still Quantum Break 120gb? Bloody hell.

The worst one I have seen so far this generation was Quantum Break which amounted to over 120 GB if you downloaded the episode pack rather than streaming them and then it turned out that the f'n game didn't even work anyway.

I just bought GoW III and Gravy Rush Remastered for a total £18.48 (although the credit cost me far less than that in the first place anyway).

GoW III is massive though at 40GB so people without unlimited internet beware.

We definitely get rinsed compared to the U.S. and Canada! Not voted either way, but for me the prices here are massively underwhelming. The aforementioned get serious bargains, we get much smaller savings. Sony takes the **** out of its EU customers when it comes to PSN.

Was hoping for the Uncharted Collection to be on sale before Uncharted 4. May just get if from GAME if it's not the discount game of the week.

Be aware LBP3 is the EU version not the GB version like the disc copies. As such your saves and progress won't carry over.

Bought the Heavy Rain and Beyond pack. Played Heavy Rain when it first released on the PS3, but can't complain about the price. Really appreciate the effort some members go to when compiling these tedious lists. Helps us lazy people no end.

Very early for a sale on Day of the Tentacle considering it was only released about 5 weeks ago but I don't mind as I got my money's worth, I highly recommend it.
