If my hubby bought me this for Christmas I would hit him with.

Had this iron and had a terrible time with it. It has an auto off function that breaks rendering the iron useless. The first one done it after 35 minutes. The second done it after 5 months. Luckily amazon took it back for a full refund.

Shame really because Phillips irons are normally decent quality. I have an azure can't remember which model and it's great and it still going strong and had it for a few years

I have one of these. Went on holiday for three weeks. Hadn't emptied the resivoir, and it's got a green algae growing in it! lol!
Would appreciate any advice on how to clean it out properly.

I think I'd rather buy a new one than clean green goo out of it. But anyway, maybe try vinegar with water like you would try to descale it. Read the instructions though, some irons have anti scale chemicals in them that would go bad if you put anything like that in them.

I do the cooking in our house. I would be delighted if my girlfriend bought me a kitchen utensil/gadget for Christmas. Ironically, I received a tool kit last Xmas and I didn't hit my girlfriend over the head with it - I should have done, given how sexist and derogatory it was to gift me such a stereotypically masculine item...

Do you use an iron at home more than your husband?

I think it's the same price in Wilkinsons n all. It is in Hammersmith anyway. Reviews on it say the buttons get stuck so it constantly steams after a while, put me off buying in the past.

I see my attempt at humor was wasted in this instance
