I've not priced up two stroke oil as I've got some which was donated to me and will last a good while yet so didn't look at the bundled offer. However, you will definitely need some as you shouldn't be using straight unleaded in it. I think usually a 30:1 or 40:1 ratio oil to petrol but will find out when it turns up tomorrow.
We're fortunate to have a couple of good local independent hardware stores so picking up good priced oil and protective gear is not a problem but I appreciate its not like that everywhere.

Looks the same as mine, I've had it a couple of years to clear a small field. Works great when you get the blade centred up right. I grease the head gears and shaft regularly , the shaft does get hot but no complaints,.mine needed basic assembly and loading the line into the strim head first time was a bit fiddly. No problems starting, very pleased overall.

Got an SGS compressor and air tool set - great kit. At this price its a steal!

I already have a Draper petrol brush cutter/strimmer which I use as a brush cutter, but it's a PITA to switch between brush cutter/strimmer, so ordered the SGS brush cutter/strimmer which I'll leave set up as a strimmer.

I guess line is included?

Beware! Atrocious company to deal with in my experience. I bought this exact product last year. It never started. I filmed myself doing everything correctly to start it up and it not starting so I had proof it was faulty. I then called to say there is a problem with it. Before taking the product back, they insisted on multiple troubleshooting calls, where they talked me through start up step by step, which I followed during the call and which was no different to how I had tried to start up myself previously. Still there was no start up and the agents calling confirmed they could hear the start cord being pulled with no resulting start up of the engine. Then I was required to fill in a form explaining everything that had occurred and send photos of the item. Finally it was collected. A week or so later I was informed they had tested it and there was nothing wrong with it, despite evidence to the contrary. They deducted £9 from the refund as a collection charge, something they are not legally allowed to do for faulty products. Even getting the rest of the refund back was a total nightmare. They really dug their heels in and played games because I had left negative feedback on ebay. I had left negative feedback only after giving them multiple opportunities to provide a full refund. In the end I had to get Paypal involved to ensure a full refund.

It's the same generic Chinese stuff you get on eBay for about the same price. No way is it worth £150 before the sale.
I do have the same one as this but branded differently and with the chainsaw and hedge trimmers it was works quite well. Think with these sort of things if you get a good one you'll have no problems but get a duff one and you're in for a world of pain.

I wasn't anticipating a £200 matching for £60odd but hopefully for allotment clearing and general infrequent use it will be fine. Could spend this and more on a used one of decent name I guess but I'd sooner have the two year warranty.

Bad company to deal with, disinterested service. Bought one of these last year, a couple of nuts and bolts missing. Reported and they promised to send them by first class post and never sent them. The machine itself does work but the handlebar is uncomfortable and requires a lot of fiddling to get it unevenly fitted so that your right arm can operate the trigger comfortably. The whole unit is heavy and cumbersome to use. The shoulder harness is tricky to adjust to get the exact height that takes off some of the weight of the machine and it kind of wanders around during use so your arms end up taking the weight after a few minutes.

Mixing a 25:1 ratio means you have to buy the oil and petrol separately and then mix it in the bottle (provided) to use the machine, a total pain in the backside and invariably some spillage using a funnel too. I accidentally turned the machine sideways as I was storing it away after first use and a lot of the petrol and oil mix leaked out of the cap even though it was screwed on tight, killed off all the grass where it spilt (the rubber washer inside the cap was crap).

Lots of vibration when using, I needed several pints of beer to calm down after an hour of use, arms shook like a leaf after first use and it took an hour to get back to normal (50 years old but no skinny weakling because I have been tackling MOST of the DIY jobs for the last 10 years, using electric tools with no probs). There are warnings in the booklet supplied about vibrations and not to use the machine too long if you want to avoid permanent damage to your arms.

Sold the damn thing off for cheap after just one use as it was too cumbersome to continue using it. Yes in spite of the vibrations, it did actually a lot of the brush but it was just too difficult and uncomfortable to use after half an hour or so - too heavy, too much vibration. You can buy special gloves (I have been informed) to reduce some of the vibration but it is far simpler to use a heavy duty electric strimmer and then cut off the thicker stems with a long, serrated bread knife or lopper. It all grows back quite quickly in Summer anyway so using chemical weed killers is the only long term and easier solution. Only works out a little bit more expensive than the petrol and oil mix.

I now stick to electric tools (even though there is a problem of running a long length of wire) because they are a lot lighter for extended use and require less maintenance than petrol driven ones and DON'T vibrate so much that you end up looking like a nervous, twitching clown after using the tool.

Well it's arrived this afternoon so will be having a look over it in the next day or so. It's certainly a hefty beast. Am in complete agreement that an electric trimmer should no doubt do the job I'm asking of it, however, the location of the task prohibits use of electric. Our allotment is where this will spend most of its time where there is no electric supply. I suppose I could have looked at the petrol generator route to allow use of electric tools but the outlay was far in excess of £67 unless buying something second or third hand. So I'll give this a whirl and if it makes it to the end of the warranty period, for £35 quid a year I'm happy.

Mine turned up today great product does what it should do with no mercy. Much better than anything else I be seen in the price bracket

Had a couple of days use out of this so far. No issues, easily put together. Choke labelling is wrong way round as has already been mentioned but apart from that, no complaints. Started after a couple of pulls. Runs well. Harness not difficult to work out and supports the machine well. Overall so far very very pleased with this.
