You're stating the obvious, but hello the fact that successive post 1945 German administrations have implemented liberal fascist policies making it illegal to even suggest not everything was evil under the National Socialists tells you how many Germans and Austrians for that matter supported the notion then and still do now.
I lived in Austria for nearly five years and the ironic thing I noticed is that they are so apologetic and almost ashamed of their past but I am yet to meet a Russian who shares that conscience about the horrors 'socialist socialism' inflicted upon millions in the old Eastern Block.
The Germans paid their dues decades ago and why should they continue to deny love of their country because their current political and leftist academic elite tell them to?

EVERY German company at the time supported the Nazi party;
A) be buddy buddy with the Nazi party
B) don't support the Nazi party and have your company confiscated
C) openly reject the Nazi party and be sent to a camp

Well the Russians still proudly goose step about without any conscience for their crimes in their bllod stained past. Blimey they've never even apologised for the millions Uncle Joe butchered yet the Germans have paid billions in compensation to relatives as distant as tabby cats belonging to middle aged women who might have had a nan called Cohen that got done by an RAF bomb on Drseden :smirk:
As for my cultural faux pas, I was there for Euro 88 and because I was so young the British Consulate had to be called to sign me out. The good old days when following your country abroad involved a tear up, a thieve up and at worst nothing more than a deportation stamp in your passport as punishment :smile:

The one time I visited Germany, I was sat on the plane watching a South Park episode where Cartman is stomping about dressed as Hitler and "saluting" all over the place.
Never occurred to me it might not be appropriate viewing in Germany .....

Are you suggesting the Germans should lighten up a bit regarding a foreigners first instinct in Germany is to goose step around?

It's the German Kiss logo as they aren't allowed to use the nazi/german style ss logo there.... Shame as I may have bought a few otherwise!!

Same for holocaust denial, the Wolfenstein video games, and even doing the straight arm salute in a public place over there :smirk: I should know as I got nicked for doing that one at German old bill outside Düsseldorf mainline station when I was 16 back in 88.
Modern Germany's current nazi ideology persecuting traditional Germany's past nazi ideology, you really couldn't make it up, and the most ironic thing of the lot is that there is plenty of evidence out there proving that the Schwarz family who founded Lidl were enthusiastic supporters of Hitler's regime back in that time.
German hypocrisy knows no bounds :man:
