Let get this right. you're saying there is an offline option with NowTV so is that download to phone or to tablet. This is more interesting if so.

Yes, just don't activate any voucher until the current one is due to run out.

I have IPTV and a Plex server and still have a NowTV sub as the streams are very good quality for Sky 1, Atlantic, Fox and Sky Arts. Also if you watch catch-up usually there's no adverts - currently you can watch GoT before it's broadcast without ads every 10 mins like you get watching it on the Atlantic channel.

Yes it's much faster and more reliable, also has a SD card slot and a USB connector too.

Do you have plex? The settings you would require are on the computer/ nas. You usually access them via a Web browser after clicking on the server icon on a pc task bar. Go to settings, change area from auto detect to usa then add channels.

Depends - offers like this are good (especially if you sell the nowtv box) but you can sometimes get a decent monthly reduction if you go to cancel citing "too expensive" as the reason

I've never had a Now TV box and have always been interested after seeing these sorts of deals posted numerous times so I've decided to purchase one  I was wondering if it would be better to buy entertainment passes through bundles or just normally paying monthly?

Not bad but 6 months ent or 4 months movies was £19 in December deal. Worth topping up until the Black Friday or Boxing Day sales

Sky made a big mistake moving into Bt broadband business. They are a much bigger very well run company, sky have never had to compete with a company like Bt before. When we move house I am going to Bt. Free premium footy. Free champions league. The TV packages are cheaper than sky and their broadband router is much better. I will save around £20 a month going from sky to Bt and get the footy as an extra as well. Now TV Usworth having though to pick up the sky prem matches you want for £7 a go plus sky Atlantic on the entertainment pass. I think Sky have a very big problem as there is really very little reason to have a sky subscription these days.

If you have plex, set your server as in usa install nick channels and hay presto you can stream ondemand hd nick from nick for free. Ive no idea how it works it just does. All material in hd too. Worth shelling out for a qnap 253a and having plex server on all the time.

Hi, quick question please - I have the White "old box" that works fine (a bit slow to change between apps, but that might be my internet?) - is this new gen box worth shelling out for? Is it noticeably better? Thanks v much for any advice.

It'll use the 3 months from the pass then revert back to Direct debit afterwards. If or when you add another pass it has to be in the last month of the first pass expiring e.g you can't put in 4 entertainment passes in one go but use one now then Aug, then Nov, then Feb etc. Bit of a faff but I find it extends my year by cancelling (pass will still run to exp date) not renewing until I actually go and find out it's lapsed
Also boxes can be traded at Cex if your passing one

I've still got years worth of vouchers from when they were £9 or 14 for the 6 months ents. Gutted Disney going and annoyed the other kids channels going as that's all we end up using the passes for.
Got the letters the other day, says they will send the kids pass if I have a subscription that spans 4th may till they launch in June. you might see my unused ent passes appearing on eBay soon!

My 2-month movie pass has only just expired today and a month left on the entertainment pass.
Any ideas on where tends to be the best place to buy passes for future periods please? (I get the impression deals like this with the box bundled are the best value for money, whether you need the box or not)

I'm just about to sign up for NowTV, so this is great timing.
Can I stack the passes? i.e could I buy 2x entertainment and 1x movies and use that to cover myself for entertainment for the next 6 months, with a 2 month trial of movies?
Do the vouchers expire?

I only bought this under 2 weeks ago for £20. wonder if amazon refund the difference? also how long do these passes last for? was looking at buying the £25 deal for 6 months from NOW but this saves a quid and i get 2 boxes to watch catch up on other tv's and use teh passes on the main box

Any deals on Roku box and are there any variations of it or just one version?
Can I get Kodi on either this Now TV or Roku?
plbs76
24 May 16#40
Just bear in mind that NowTV is a watered-down Roku box. So if you ever want Netflix or Amazon Prime too, a Roku will be a more expensive but potentially better option.
:stuck_out_tongue: Heat added nonetheless for good deal.

I've seen the Nickelodeon channels are on demand, not live... but this is still ok for the kids. Ordered 2, can I put the vouchers on at the same time giving me 6 months or do I have to wait 3 months for the first code to run out before adding the second code? Cheers

24 May 16#35
So the children's channels aren't available yet, but will be soon? - I thought I saw someone mention that Nickelodeon and NickJr was included in the Entertainment pass, but when I checked I couldn't find the info.

Is this worth getting if you already have a smart TV and Netflix? I know they have sky arts or hopefully do. Less attractive with out kids channels.

The new children's TV pass comes in soon, so will be fine for now but you will need the kids TV pass soon.
chrisbluebird
24 May 16#31
I've been on the NowTV website and it doesn't state on there you get Nickelodeon and NickJr channels... can someone confirm? I'd get 2 of these for the kids rooms so they can watch Nick Jr and you can use 2 boxes off 1 sub which is good. Thanks.

you got it. also if you cancel your subscription in your online account and put the reason down as being too expensive they will probably offer you a reduced price for a few months.

Great deal, worth me setting up a new free Amazon Prime account for a free trial! We ditched Sky back in January, and have been using a now TV offer we got. Just reverted to the £7.99 subscription, so this will get us another 3 months for £12.

I've already got Now TV (very happy with it) but £12 for a 3 months pass is cheaper than paying direct. could I use the voucher to extend my entertainment pass and just chuck the box?

Yeah, I got it with the student deal and it has become addictive, I commute so movies that can be watched offline are amazing...

Or, you can just use it for all the other channels, its also a cheaper way to get sky entertainment than signing up to sattelite....

Always a good buy at this sort of price.
Currently you could binge fest on the first 5 seasons of Game of Thrones.
The remotes as well can be a bit flakey so you get a new one as well even if you do not need the box.
Unsubscribing is a piece of cake so binge fest for the voucher contract length then cancel for a few months until the next similar (or better) deal to this.
If your a Prime member and in no hurry select the no rush delivery option and you get a £1 credit for films/music though it has to used with a month or so.

I got the 'your losing 3 channels letter and here's one back aswell' with no offer of any 4 month free kids (not that I want it anyway). I get a feeling it's to do with when your current pass expires as to whether compensation was felt to be necessary.

I got the letter and no mention of 4 free months, my mum got the letter, a little booklet and told about the 4 free months. We both have only ever paid with vouchers, only difference is don't think we have ever watched a kids channel and it's on a lot at my mums (grandkids).

I got a letter about the change, but it didn't mention anything about getting 4months kids free. Only that I will now get natgeo too. I've had a constant entertainment subscription with them for over a year via prepaid cards (when buying boxes like this). Do you pay monthly via direct debit out of curiosity?
