Yep, nearly everything from eglobalcentral is a grey import. Still, it's seriously cheap.

Call it a 'grey import' if you like but they do in fact supply the H791 version which is the 'International' model.
The other models are H790 - sold in USA and Mexico and H798 - sold in China and Hong Kong. In other words there is nothing wrong with the model they supply. The bigger problem is their customer service or lack of it. Not an issue of course if phone arrives and does not have any problems.

Cheap yes - until you need to return it ! Maybe save a few quid, more likely buy yourself a big problem ( and come back on here to moan about it ) How many posts on here about returning items to China !! -Sorry colder than a cold thing for me :disappointed:

So if it fails , or is faulty - who do you return it to and at who's cost ? I think there enough posts on here for the answer . Yes I'm fine buying golf tees or belts from China , but would I ever buy anything technical that I may need to return - to save a few quid ? No , No and No Never :disappointed:

There have been a few posts (not complimentary !) on Chinese /Hong Kong sellers on here recently . Some have warehouses within the EU where they ship from . However you need to return to Hong Kong /China at your expense if its faulty :disappointed: . They are registered in China so even though (if) they have a warehouse in the EU you do not have the normal protection . Apparently Paypal don't want to know either .

Yes save yourself a few quid -maybe :disappointed: lose a lot - your choice of course . My personal advice is never buy anything from a Chinese /Hong Kong company that is expensive ,technical or something you may ever wish to return . Golf tees ,phone cases etc no problem but you'd have to be a "sandwich short of a picnic " to spend £200 ish on a phone or tablet etc just to save £30-£40 quid .

Also note that nano sim is required for the 5X.

Why would you need to return a phone to them anyway?? If it goes wrong (which wouldn't happen normally) then return to Google

If you do buy and need to return and you have purchased using PayPal you can tell PayPal it has a battery and get a refund, as you aren't allowed to return batteries?

A removable one has to be taken out and stored separately in the box. You can transport anything with a battery as long as you have the right sticker anyway - Amazon returns include stickers alerting the courier/customs to the presence of a battery.

Many worried by possible return to Hong Kong but in reality how many phones fail or have problems needing return? Possibly 1 in a 100? Worth the risk as the odds are good - this is a good deal IMO.

You may have a fault, I get a day out of mine with reasonably heavy usage, plus USB C charges 80% in 10 mins. IMO a decent mid range phone, good deal

I got one of these and am using it...it came in about a week, it's shipped from China so not bad, could track the parcel with dpd although they received it a day late themselves. Don't forget to go via cashback site and to use the code for £5~ off

The screen display was yellowish when I first started using don't worry though this went after an hour of use...I also got a little rubber case and tempered glass screen protector for 1.99 from eBay and make sure you get legitimate usb c adapters/data cables (which you'll need as they don't come with computer cables) (as cheap ones don't have the right resistor and can mess up your computer port)...

Try something like greenify or du battery saver they work well with this kind of stock device, makes a big difference! Or root and use a custom kernel with better battery control.

Ordered a Z5 Compact from eGlobal on Monday, received it on Friday from DPD. You have to know what you're getting when you buy from eGlobal, it's grey goods at considerably cheap prices - not Amazon like customer support service. If you want the latter, then stick with UK retailers and cough up the extra cash.

That being said, my biggest fear (which no one addressed) was whether eGlobal products are new or rather refurbished/used. I can confirm with my order it was brand new, still had the plastic covers on it.

You can purchase with PayPal directly through eGlobal, you're covered. That's what I did.

Hmmm. It looks like the £5.99 off for 'sign-up to their Newsletter' is no longer available. The offer used to appear on a pop-up when accessing the site. If it didn't appear then deleting cookies usually brought it back but this is no longer working - sorry but it looks like you've just missed this discount.

Took a punt on the 32GB Quartz White model last week.. arrived today.

I figured it was worth the gamble at this price, but I'd think very carefully about these guys if you're spending big money or you're concerned about warranty. This is a Chinese outfit selling grey market stuff. The products appears to be the real deal and there's nothing illegal going on, but the products are intended for a different market, which means the manufacturers warranty is probably invalid and the product itself might not be localized for your country. eGlobal claim to uphold their own warranty, but looking at the comments on trust pilot it looks to be problematic. With all that in mind, make your own informed decision about using this seller.

Anyway, this order arrived in about seven days in perfect shape. The product was shipped from HK to a location in Manchester where the product was subsequently passed to DPD for local delivery in the UK. I guess this is how they deal with the import duty issue. You can only track from the DPD handover. My only quibble with that is that DPD were notified of the package at the same time it left HK, so for a couple of days their tracker told me that they hadn't received the package, which was disconcerting. Eventually they picked it up and I was able to follow it as usual.

The phone is a H791 model, so it is indeed the international version with full LTE support. The box was fully sealed. Came with a European charger, but eGlobal supply a UK power adapter in the parcel. A welcome surprise in the box is a little Micro b to USB c adapter - I can use all my old micro USB cables and chargers - awesome bonus! Apparently this is only included in recently manufactured devices.

Just adding a few thoughts on the phone after a few days...
It performs flawlessly. I couldn't say if it's due to updates or it's just that I've upgraded from a fairly old flagship (galaxy s4), but I find the performance excellent all round, including the camera. Having read several reviews I expected more compromise in this area. Battery life hasn't been a problem, but I should point out that I don't do any mobile gaming. Some very minor gripes: I would have liked EIS for video recording. I'd also prefer if the beveling around the screen wasn't as sharp, it would be more comfortable to hold. Otherwise the build quality is solid, and the all-plastic design while jarring at first is beginning to grow on me. The IPS screen is good - subjectively comparing to my old Galaxy S4 the Nexus 5x screen looks better in daylight due to improved brightness, but the S4's AMOLED is superior in low light where those deep blacks and punchy colours stand out more. There are no deal breakers though.
The stock Android experience is simply outstanding. With respect to the basic core apps and OS, I'd argue Google's software, (with the exception of maybe the camera app) is arguably a stronger overall proposition than Apple's, and it's all very solid indeed.
I find it striking how much phone you can get nowadays for less than £250. It really does exceed expectation at this price point. At the original RRP I might have been more critical, but at anything less than £230 this phone is an absolute and utter steal. I'd just be careful about buying it here, because you're effectively trading your warranty in for a few quid off.
