Could this be used safely outdoors? I'd like to know what my ducks get upto in the day. Every night when I come home they seem to look shifty as hell and I've begun to wonder what they do while I'm at work earning money to pay for their lifestyle.

Could they be doing drugs while you're at work? Becoming a quackhead is surprisingly easy.

Fk Amazon. Lets not support wannabe monopolies unless they are actually cheaper. Choose Argos, choose life. And the £5 voucher.

I dont know why they make this pet specific when it can obviously be used for many other reasons. Unless it only works when a furry animal is the vacinity.
Its funny how you read about those megamillion heists and bank robberies where they drill into the place at night. And yet a simple £50 remote camera like this would able security to keep watch on the vaults 24/7. Thats what always baffles me.

I think Binatone make these and have a licensing agreement to use the Motorola name....not necessarily bad but some might like to know.

we were looking for a baby monitor but with night vision, temperature monitor and pan and tilt I think I might just get one of these... then when the baby's older it can be used for security

There is a baby one, it's white and called focus 85.
As far as I can tell they are the same but different colour. There is also another available with a monitor if you don't have a smart phone, but the price of these is silly

I got those Clever Dogs off mymemory. They're not bad, but you get what you pay for I guess.
Heat for me, but not sure why they need to push the pet feature. Not as if it's a USP (apart from the thermometer feature perhaps).

You can probably do better on Amazon, you should be able to spend less and get 1080p, plus something that will actually record motion and work with standardized apps like Tinycam. I think these Motorola ones want you to pay a subscription if you want them to record beyond a 2 week free trial.

This seems like a really lousy thing to do - if you don't trust your nanny get a new one or at least let them know that there are cameras.

As above you need to pay for a subscription to record anything. It's about ~£30 /yr for up to 24hours of recording if I recall.
I use the static versions of these, they are OK, but pretty garbage at night

Supporting the RSPCA? In that case not voting - a political organisation, not an animal welfare charity. Widely despised for their attitude by vets according to my daughter who is in the veterinary 'business'.

Image quality is absolutely garbage in anything other than the brightest of conditions and even on Wifi the input lag whilst moving the camera around is truly woeful
Any reviews on how this would stack up for outside use especially in the winter months? Is it water proof? Is it mains operated?

I've got one of these... the tilt and pan is pretty slow and at times frustrating when viewing remotely. during the day the picture is great but at night vision with IR is pretty poor. you can't see very well across a 3 meter room in the dark.. the temperature notification is great. you'll get a message if it gets too hot or too cold. it also has noise detection. it's plugged in via the mains and no other connection as it's WiFi only... indoor use only! how that helps :sunglasses:

How easy are these to set up? I've got a foscam version and it's still sat in the box as we had to do all this port forwarding stuff through the router and got nowhere

Are you one of those Golden Retriever types, who never lets their dog have any fun and makes it walk at the side of you no matter where you are?
If you are, next time buy a Tamagotchi.
If you're not, my apologies.
