Don't bother. It's disgraceful that Motorola, along with Apple, is one of the few manufacturers only providing a 12-month warranty instead of the industry standard 24-month. Heck, Huawei is now providing a 36-month warranty with the P9 and if you break your screen it will be repaired for free for the first time.
It's time to stop supporting companies like Motorola that treat their customers with contempt.

it says "used acceptable". I think for that amount of money I would want a better condition. maybe "like new"

I work for Geek Squad dealing with warranty repairs and am well versed in the EU regulations. However, the burden of proof lies with the consumer to prove the defect was inherent from manufacturing and without Apple confirming that it won't be repaired under the warranty. Apple keeps hiding behind EU / UK law and sending customers back to the retailer knowing full well it won't be repaired under warranty without a engineer's report from Apple confirming an inherent fault. The number of angry Apple customers I've dealt with is ridiculous, as Apple only provides a two year warranty if bought directly from Apple.
The way Apple and Motorola treat their customers is disgraceful. A two year warranty should be the absolute minimum, especially the amount Apple charges for its products.

Eh, there's much worse ways to show contempt in my opinion. It's all changing, along with 32GB becoming standard too. It's a lot of phone for your buck.

Its because Motorola and Apple on average only expect their handsets to last 12 months before the accountants start sweating.

Bought one for £156 a few days ago for my wife. Look for used very good descriptions that only mention opened box and no damage to the phone itself. My wife's was in mint condition, just the box had been sealed up again

Lenovo have bought motorola over and have just released the Moto g4 keeping the Moto name but being a lenovo product. I personally liked the look of the Moto x style however with this switchover I am waiting for the new releases. Strong rumours say the new range of Moto x are coming out possibly under a different name but the new moto x and style handsets have top specs apparently lined up and will be competitively priced in the same mould as the predecessors. I hope that the current ones are still supported and that the new ones are competitively priced and maybe a price drop for this and the style. Coming from a Moto g 4g got to say that the phones are sturdy and with near stock android so happydays

Apart from processor looks like the current Moto x will have better specs such as larger battery, water repellant ,higher MP camera to name but a few,we shall see.

Love our Moto phones! We have a number of them in the household now having moved from Samsung ranges over the years. Prefer the Moto's overall, pure Android still best IMO, and hardware seems to last longer too.
Interesting to see where they're going now that they're planning to drop the name and their move away from the 'Moto X' branding.

In my experience, they don't. They'll go to two years straight away....more if pushed gently.
All IF (that's a big if just in case it wasn't clear) you bought from them.
Apple say after a year is a problem for the company you bought it from (EE, Vodafone etc), it's only if you bought from them they'll honour it past a year.

So why Apple only provides 12 months?

EU law states that you have to offer 24 month warranties on phones now. I'd quite like the opportunity to have a 13 month old Motorola break, have them decline the warranty and take them to court about it.

Really good value phone and much cheaper than you'd get in new. Would probably splash out the extra £50 for a new one myself but voted hot anyway.

likewise get it direct off Motorola using the codes SPRING16 and UKWELCOME10 if they still work, plus u can customise with motomaker. I have one and it's a good phone, put in a 64gb sd card n it's all good. No problems at all and near stock android. I'd recommend having had a good few Motorola phones over the last few years.
