Ok it’s the 1gb ram 8gb memory version
Use the upgrade button from link to get the Virgin £79.99 option..... Its £109.99 on an O2 upgrade or £119.99 without upgrade including £10 top up (still a fair price)
They don’t make it easy as you can only get it if you have a qualifying Virgin sim in use over the last 6 months, but not used for a different upgrade in those months
It is difficult to use someone else’s number as they want phone number + sim number & then they send a short lived code text to that sim.
I know a load of people are rightly fed up of tiny ram Moto g variants & this could get a touch chilly very quickly and this deal will not last that long as these are more expensive second hand. But I have ordered mine this morning & if you can jump through the CPW hoops it’s a 5 inch waterproof, up to date android 4g phone with gorilla glass for £80. What’s not to like?
Edit : Nope, I cant find a link that works so you will have to cut & paste this one.

EDIT:::: Well, looks to have finished this morning 18/5/2016 with the introduction of their new website. New lowest price is £99.99 payg upgrade from Vodaphone, (white/green only) or the "UK'S LOWEST PRICE" of £119.99 with top up.... Hope all those who could get one with Virgin got in on time.

For £80 it's a damn good phone. I'm using one to type this reply. However, the 1GB does hurt the performance and my phone lags quite bad in places.

And only 8gb! So 4gb available after operating system

yes, as is mentioned on every single phone deal that has 8gb
Can't these use the Marshmallow SD card witchcraft and trickery to use the SD card to mimick system ram/rom or whatever it does?

sort of, some apps refuse to install on the SD card...and when it comes to installing updates it frequently displays "cannot install, internal storage full" issue with a 32GB microSDcard that is 95% empty

I'm typing this on the 2GB version running marshmallow - lovely phone.

I opted out of using my 32GB SD card as expansion storage as I kept getting a weird prompt about it hindering the speed of the phone. I've got 16GB onboard anyway, so the SD is fine being standalone.

I have one of these too... it's utterly useless in 8GB.

I have one as well, marshmallow, 20 or so apps I use and I have 1.5g spare. 32g SD card for media. What do u have that's so big?
Ah but I would add I don't have and won't be adding any games, maybe that's the space killer?

11 May 16#9
No games... I use Nokia here maps as it's the best sat out there (IMHO) and that's about it really...
Can't even upgrade chrome any longer as not enough space.
Can also no longer transfer photos to the SD card via the phone.

I use google maps also, but not an issue as yet. Seems an issue with the phone re the media, that should just work. Maybe that's your issue, too much media on the internal. I tend to keep mine on cloud storage, but not really a massive photo guy

Its worth disabling and force stop to apps like hangouts, and any other google apps you do use like docs and sheets
this will free up space... bit of a faff
I just use google maps..... no facebook app on mine got about 2gb free

I bought the 16gb version the other week. I honestly wish I hadn't though as the lack of led flashing display when I get a text message is a killer. Doing my head in, such a blow when you've been used to it all these years with Moto gen 1.

As a pretty light user myself (16GB suffices) I'm telling you, 8GB internal storage is best avoided. Load your favourite apps on this phone and it will be full before you know it and you will regret buying it, even at 80 quid.

I regret buying the 1GB ram version. Had it for about a year and its almost unusable.
Extremely sluggish menus, constantly runs out of space with only 8 apps installed.
Very disappointing...
I have an old worn out S3 that I need to go back to now.

if you can upgrade on 02 or vodafone, then the Huawei P8 lite for £74.99 is a far better as I have both phones in my household. 2gb ram/ 16gb 13mp camera against this moto 1gb/8gb 8mp camera. HUAWEI P8 LITE UPGRADE ON VODAFONE AND O2

I saw the Huawei but decided against it as I am currently using a mark.1, Nov 2013 Moto G which only ever had 1gb ram & 8gb memory with no sd card at all & it has performed flawlessly for what I want it for over the last 2 1/2 years. (Cost me £115 at the time & I was pleased to get it for that.) I have got really used to the custom flip shell with the screen turning on when opening, the total reliability & regular updates, so went for the newer model out of loyalty & being a bit of a cheapskate... Though I was very tempted by the Sony Xperia M4 Aqua which was down to less than £100 last month on upgrade at CPW but I dithered too long & missed it.... Oh & the Samsung Galaxy J5 still available for less than £100 was also a contender.
Note...If anyone has one of these I found a Moto flipshell at Kikatek for £12.40 which I thought a good price. http://www.kikatek.com/P640007/ASMCALFLPCRIM-M-Motorola-Flip-Shell-Cover-Case

When you consider its release date then no. Would be different for say an older device released years ago. And you would need to be clearer when you say only 8 apps on your device as an app can be several gb nowadays so that did not add much to the thread. It would help by adding further information. Generally a device slows device the less space remaining.

Wow. I need to be clearer?
I said I have owned it for about a year. If I bought it on release, that would be about a year, right? I honestly cannot even remember when I bought it exactly.
I was just making the point that the phone had limited space for me and it was too slow - as others have been saying. If someone wants to buy the phone then they will make up their own mind and do their own research.
If you own this phone and are just defending it then just say so. There's no need to act so aggressive to others on here.

Heat for the price if you can get one. But 1 GB RAM and 8 GB storage is pathetic. Big blunder by Motorola for UK market. Go for 2GB and 16 GB model. Worth every penny.

it is not good as it has 8 GB hard drive which is so small for even minimum apps user. Many of the apps not tend to be moved into SD card.

Avoid this version of the phone. It has 1GB of ram which is turning out not to be enough. Lots of complaints on forums for Moto G owners.
I have the 2GB ram version, and that version is a good phone.

Well I have had this phone for the last few days now & so far, for me, I do not see how a 2gb version could perform any better than this. Running with Nova launcher. everything is just about instantaneous. Several of the apps I have installed such as BBC I Player, Camera MX, VLC, Phogy etc, have installed themselves on the SD card without my asking & seem to work fine…Even though the SD was an old Samsung class 6 32 GB I had lying about. I have formatted the card as phone memory & have had no trouble accessing it & moving files with a Windows PC, (people online claim it to work fine with a 128 GB SD card as well but am happy with mine so far) although it is annoying that Marshmallow forces you change to data from charging USB every time you connect with a cable.
Most of the professional reviews seem to rate the 1 GB version as a very well balanced device, & on the odd real world U-Tube 1 & 2 gig side by side comparisons they look to operate at equal speed with most apps.
So far so good with this phone, with the only problems being… A slightly more sensitive screen than I am used to, opening the odd app on me rather than scrolling through... Its shut down takes much longer than I am used to, but as it boots ok I don’t mind it going a bit Windows 10 on me, & when I cleaned the cache after system update I thought I had bricked it as it takes minutes rather than the seconds of my old phone.
With all my apps installed (most of them never used) I have just over 2 GB free on internal storage & 27 GB left on card. Its snappy and does more than I need it to so for £80 am well pleased.

That's more than possible... Even John Lewis & Argos are now selling this version sim free for £130.
Though hopefully it will take a long while to get to the sub £80 mark again... Hope so anyway, as I am still smarting from the official case from Kikatek going down 21p two days after I bought it.::disappointed:

Definitely expired for Virgin. There seems to be only a Vodaphone £99 upgrade left now for the white & green version. The problem is that CPW seems to no longer have a dedicated "upgrade search" for PAYG phones on their new website, & they look to have no "PAYG upgrade deals" for any phone with Virgin, doing deals only with O2 , Voda & EE.
Have expired... (or at least tried to.)
