I consider myself top be somewhat overweight, in terms of bodyfat percentage but I can easily fit into a slim fit suit. They're just tailored to be more fitting, unlike 'skinny jeans' through which I can't even get my feet...

It's not a deal for skinny jeans, which admittedly do require you to not really bend your legs at all to wear them. You really shouldn't have any problems breathing or moving in a slim fit suit. They can certainly feel snug, especially if you're not used to wearing them, but if they're actually hampering your ability to breath or move normally you've got the wrong size.

Not necessarily, I'm as skinny as they come, I get people asking me if I'm anorexic, and even I don't like the tightness of these slim fits. I agree will Noahsdad, this is just a fashion trend and maybe you can fit into one, but claiming it's comfortable would be untrue, in my case anyway.

Important to remember human variation in muscle size as well as body width determined by bone, which obviously can't be altered. I.e. You can have someone with a really skinny waist and really muscly legs, whether due to genetics or weight-lifting/exercise...from the waist size, one would assume they are slim but their legs may not fit.
At least that's the problem I have, waist size is 30-32 but legs tend to be tighter than I like for comfort, especially with slim fit...and skinny fit...I don't even go near them, I just don't understand the appeal in wearing clothes that mimic wearing a full lower limb tourniquet.

does buying a size one up not work?
noahsdad
15 May 162#22
I am not overweight, and I feel the same about the slim fit shirts. Everything comes in a range of sizes anyway, its just the cut I don't like, its sacrificing comfort for the fashion trend of giving a size reduction impression. In winter I wrap up in several layers, and non trendy hats etc that keep me warm, which I value above trend setting and keeping up with the latest nonsense.
I didn't mean I was literally suffocating  It was an erm slight exaggeration on my part to example that slim fit is not ideal and comfortable just for the sake of looking hip.
No. Because everything else on a piece of slim fit clothing is still the "actual" size it references. The "slim fit" aspect typically just means pulling in the item around the back area to make it tighter, and make you look thinner. Is nothing more than that. In the example of a slim fit shirt, if you buy a size up your collar will be full of air and hanging off you even if buttoned up. With a slim fit suit jacket/blazer your going to end up with it bunched up when buttoned up, and the neck area will also be to expanded and full of air and gaps.

this is a great deal, assuming the fabric isn't horrible.. I'd say it's a younger man's style though. I might see if my 19 year old son wants one, get him out of those baggy @rsed jogger things he wears!

I'm 19, 6'2" and have always worn slim fitting clothes. However, I cannot fit in these so be careful if you're anything but skinny. The trousers on the thighs/calves are especially tight. Good price though.

Yup - I bought one today and I am a 32" waist in M&S suits, but had to get 36" to get round my thighs. I run quite a lot, but not enough to justify this as a fit. having to get the waist taken in at a tailor, but only £11, so overall it's still a good suit, quality shirt and tie for under a tonne.

Slim fit. Lol. Skinny boys got it easy ... They get drunk on the cheap and easily buy clothes on the cheap. Costs money to be big.

In my experience the Limited Edition ranges tend to be of inferior quality to the usual standard of M and S clothing. I am not saying that this is a poor deal, however, this is a point to be mindful of.

Due to being built somewhat like an Orangutan, I tend to have to get my suits made (I really recommend Jump The Gun in Brighton for some fantastic tonic suits and they will adjust) but having bought one of these, they are fine, good quality and at £89 including a fitted shirt and tie, you could wear them for bed.

Mine came today.
Quite impressed. I have big legs from cycling and the 32" waist and 31" inside keg trouser fit fine, if anything they are a little too baggy.
The fit of the jacket isn't great on me, I went for 38" short, when a 38" medium might have been better... I guess I can take it in store and swap if they have one?
Tie is nice, shirt is fine.
I selected 'Silver' thinking it would be more blue from the photos, but it is very much a grey/silver, so not 100% happy with the colour but the tie/suit combo works nicely.... decisions decisions.

Is it OK to exchange for a different size in store? Do you have to pretend you've lost your receipt?
