So what's your evidence for suggesting that Makita fakes are dangerous? Everything I've read suggests that most of them are OK

If you're buying a non original then you know you're not getting a genuine Makita, but I think if you're buying a Makita branded battery you'd rightfully expect a genuine one and not some knock off. Sure, non Makita batteries could be ok but some are poor and unreliable going by various reviews.

I'm not so sure that "fulfilled by Amazon" eliminates all the fakes.
