i disagree. I have one large application (hearthstone) and I keep no music or videos (except the few I record myself) and 16gb would not be a problem for me, however I still require a phone with a decent screen, camera and reasonable specs. Storage isn't everything, especially with so many cloud services offering large amounts of free storage.

In case anyone is wondering why they haven't yet received their phones they are probably out of stock.
When I queried the delay I was told 'out of stock' but still shows as 'in stock' on their website.
This is their response to the obvious question - "Thank you for your email. Our system has a slight delay as we sync as often as our server can handle. We run multiple websites so the stock is shared, that's why sometimes there is a sudden influx in orders from other sites our site does not update in time. I apologies for any inconvenience caused. If you have any further question, please contact us.

Thanks for the heads-up danbully.
I ordered on 08/05 and wondered why still 'processing'. Obviously the phone was out of stock at least 2 days before and yet still shown as 'in stock' when I ordered.
Have had no contact from eglobal to advise this - surely keeping customers informed is a basic for any firm hoping for repeat business. They offer a great price but customer service is lacking. Presumably why they get so many poor reviews.
Hope your phone (and mine) turns up safely after the 23rd.

I've got the 32gb version of this phone and I really like it. Responsive, good screen (for not being AMOLED), feels good in the hand, great camera, excellent fingerprint scanner (which I thought would be a gimmick, but makes unlocking so easy). Flip side is USB C charger which means I have to carry two cables/chargers around and some niggles around wifi which seem to be Android 6 related. This is almost £100 less than I paid for 32gb version a month ago so I think if you can do without the extra space it's a good deal.

If your holiday photos/videos are that important to you ... I suggest you dont use a phone to capture them then .. I wouldnt... But I wouldnt presume to tell you what you should be doing would I?
As for the data, never had a problem, everywhere I am these days has Wifi, suits me to the ground I hardly use any data (less then 2GB a month if I remember rightly.
Its all down to peoples preference, just because its not suitable for you doesnt mean its the same for other people.data storage ...

Im sure other people can also make their own minds up.
mike_freegan
5 May 16#67
Advising people that this is a poor choice doesn't require anyone to crawl anywhere. Just because you're happy to have to constantly juggle data and stream everything doesn't mean everyone else should be. I've been there and it's a pretty crumby experience when a few quid more gets you a much better product.
16gb for most people means manually removing things constantly. It means not having enough storage space for all your photos and videos when on holiday (I filled 30gb on my trip). It means unlimited data is a necessity and also means that the crumby battery on the Nexus 5X is going to struggle even more if you're streaming things all day. Oh yeah, and the whole thing only works when you have decent signal.
People on non-tech forums will likely not realise this until their phone arrives and becomes unusable after a few weeks so people should be able to point out here that the 16gb version is a trick by Google / Apple etc to be able to print a lower starting price on adverts, but really the product with that little memory is unpleasant to use and is terrible value.

Love readint the comment on the usual space issue.
Ive got the 16GB version ... More then enough for me.
I have albums on there for whenever im not in an area with 4G (prefer spotify play lists).
Have a few GB of dropbox which syncs from the cloud .. But use plex if I ever want more videos, music or pics. Combined with Subsonic, i dont think I'll ever use the max space.
Never seen the need for a phone with a mass of space ... For games maybe, but would rather listen to music if I get time to be bored instead of playing a game on a tiny screen.
If people NEED more then avoid this version obviously. But crawl out of your own **** before you dictate your requirements onto other people

I am still using my original Samsung Galaxy Nexus which is also 16gb storage. I downloaded the 'Nexus Media Importer' app from Google Play Store, bought a USB adaptor from Amazon for pennies and now have as much storage as I need.
I mainly fill a USB flash drive with media ready for any trips away!

I've got the all-you-can eat plan so don't really store anything on device. Got a 1TB Google Drive so store all images on that via Google Photos and stream music using Spotify. I could actually get away with a device with less storage. The future is cloud storage as connection speeds get better. Just a shame the networks seem hell bent on cutting data allowances. Thankfully 3 still do decent data plans.

5 May 16#21
Storage isn't necessary with google play/drive. Music is on the cloud or use spotify and just keep changing what is on your phone, drive can store all your photos. Let's be honest, when are people ever not in a place with wifi at least once a day? The cloud is where every single thing will be in 5 years time anyway, local storage except for OS will be somewhat obselete
Scorpion to mattturner756
5 May 16#35
You say that, but with 16GB you only get 12GB or so of storage, and that isn't a lot really. On my Nexus 5 (32GB) I have 26.7GB of storage. I'm quite often nearly running on with that as I like to keep a couple of dozen albums from Google Play Music cached on my phone for my trips abroad (9GB). The phone caches things itself (lots of stuff you access from cloud based services), so you end up with quite a lot of that as well, meaning I occasionally need to wipe the phones cache to ensure I've enough room for pictures etc. In summary, 16GB wouldn't work for me. 32GB minimum for me. Different strokes for different folks.

My wife had about 2 social apps, no music or video and a fair few pictures on her 16gb HTC. after about 2 major system updates from kitkat to marshmallow and a few .1 .2 updates in between she started getting storage too low messages.
Popped in a 64gb card and now she has loads again.
Her old nexus 4 that did the same, in the drawer because when that happened it was game over. It's not all about what you put on your phone, It's about what they put on it too.

Shoot me down (or think that you are) but 16GB is daft for an otherwise decent phone if you want to use a phone as an all-round utility. It's a legit company but this is also a grey market deal from Hong Kong so you could get charged import fees and will cost you quite a bit if you need to return it. Personally I would buy it but I don't want this phone. You can check their ebay shop out for some background http://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/eglobalcentral-gb
Conclusion from the article in the link below:
Buying grey market tech is not for everyone, and it's clear there is some risk involved. You might get a great deal on a cheap phone, or you might get a headache that won't disappear for several weeks. Many people have great experiences in buying grey market tech (us included), but there are also some horror stories to be told. Now armed with the facts you can make an informed decision about whether buying grey market tech or cheap goods from China is an attractive solution for you.
I ordered the 32gb version from this site last time a similar deal arose and after 10 days I'd had no information whatsoever, order still pending and whatever help staff there were didn't reply to any of my emails, got my money back within a month because I paid with paypal but still a pretty untrustworthy site.

If you aren't using more than 16gb then you aren't getting your money's worth out of this phone.

12 month warranty. You send it to a UK address which forwards it to Hong Kong
Although in the last 3 weeks I have used 12GB of mobile data.
Cheers, the only reason I ask is I'm looking at getting a phone (Galaxy S7 edge) from their site and I want one with at least a European charger (and European warranty)
Lovely phone tbf (though personally could do with more storage, no idea what's taking up half the room).
Oh also, as someone else in this thread said, can't see the need to worry about import duty etc. mine was sent from somewhere in the UK via courier.

I would find 16gb really tight, but my wife doesn't use half of that on her phone.
m
My wife had about 2 social apps, no music or video and a fair few pictures on her 16gb HTC. after about 2 major system updates from kitkat to marshmallow and a few .1 .2 updates in between she started getting storage too low messages.
Popped in a 64gb card and now she has loads again.
Her old nexus 4 that did the same, in the drawer because when that happened it was game over. It's not all about what you put on your phone, It's about what they put on it too.
My 16gb held a few apps some email and about 4gb of music. I upgraded my 5x to 32gb because i kept running out of space and had to clear my offline music.

Edit: items are classed as shipping from France so shouldn't be eligible for import fees and can be returned via a UK address apparently
BUT, this hukd thread indicates doubts about this company. http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/huawei-google-nexus-6p-32gb-charcoal-unlocked-352-99-eglobalcentral-co-uk-2432474

Just wish they did a 64gb version. :disappointed:
Still sticking with my Galaxy S5 for a few more months anyway and trying to resist new phones.
