No WONDER Apple sales are floundering  , the Chinese are showing that quality handsets can be produced for a fraction of IPhone costs, & the masses are cottoning on that they`re being fleeced.
Looks like an awesome spec for the money, though I'm not convinced by Gearbest after previous experience.

Anyone have any experience with LETV? What is the ui like in English, Chinese bloat and adware etc. Great spec for the price but not much use if you have to root it. No 800Mhz LTE by the way.

There's so many of these different phones popping up now, how on earth do I choose!
Waiting for oneplus 3 announcement before I make any descisions...

I had one of these. The hardware is impressive, but the UI sucks; it's geared towards providing Letv content (like Netflix or Amazon) and the international ROMs provided by the vendors are full of spyware. First thing to do is to install the official ROM update and thankfully it's now possible to change the default launcher.
Thanks for the link

The antutu benchmark is a good way to compare the performance of the phones (higher is better)

The specs of this phone look very, very good indeed on paper for the price, a sort of hybrid between the LG G4/5, be interested seeing some reviews on it...strange also why it would ship with Lollipop rather than Marshmallow.
Thanks for the first hand comments. I'm always apprehensive of Chinese phones due to the spyware issues, however one cannot ignore the price per pound of what you're getting. I'm currently rocking a Doogee X5 Pro, which interestingly enough, was cleared by malwarebytes and Avast for spyware/ viruses. Out of interest, did you run any spycatcher software on the LeTV and what did you find?

The 2k screen zaps battery life. If it was 1080p I'd get one.

I've been aware of similar for more than half a Decade back!, but for whatever reason, I STILL ended up buying one some years back too?, hahahaha.
Though I won't be falling in such a category again mind! (well, not for the immediate near to distant future anyway?, lol). :-)

1440p is Alot more than 1080p, this is coming from a PC gamer who upgraded is monitor

They did a [rom hack] for the LG G3 that has a QHD screen and changed resolution to 1080P, whilst getting performance improvements there was negligible difference in battery life.

I should have clarified, I mean the battery drain is not significantly larger compared to a 1080 screen.

Apple is so boring, fans are getting fed up with having basically the same operating system and phone for last 5 years, big overhauls need to be done to keep consumers intrested

There are some excellent Chinese brands like Xiaomi but the majority are awful. Even the likes of ZTE can have poor build quality when ordered internationally.
Plus it hasn't escaped my attention that companies like Gearbest seem to be evading tax. If you add the taxes on and the cost of providing a warranty, you realise that some of these Chinese phones aren't that great value. You only have to be stung once and you'll end up paying a lot more than you'd pay for a Vodafone Smart Ultra (ZTE device).
However, I do agree that brands like Sony, Samsung and Apple are still way overpriced.

Correct, it was something like 7mins 34secs which equated to something like 1.2%
I always assumed it was that which made my LGG3 so turd... Turns out its just turd!

Had a letv x600, great phone for price, camera was great in good lighting conditions but as with many phones pathetic when slightly dark. Worst of all was the battery life... This being 2k screen, faster prove processor etc might even drain faster.... Still, great price so voting hot especially for 64gb version.
Any other recommendations? Leaning towards Redmi note 3 pro but ideally want soberin something more ' mainstream'

Bought my wife the redmi note 3 pro, amazing phone for the money, silky smooth, no lag whatsoever and high capacity battery. Just ordered myself one as an upgrade from an LG G3.
Bought wifes from aliexpress, currently its as cheap as £127.30 delivered right now for the 3GB RAM, 32GB ROM model. 7.5% quidco cashback too:
I'm looking to buy an LG G3 or G4, I want the 1440p screen. I don't want a second hand one from eBay etc. because I have heard that a reasonable percentage have issues, and it'd be good to be able to send it back. If yours is fine, apart from battery life issue, do you want to sell it to me?

PM me if you want to make an offer. Like i say, you'd have to wait until i sorted something else though.
