Much better than the Dell deal. Longer battery life, consistent IPS displays, same specs, more ram and the saved money could get you an m2 SSD for this.
Still can't deny it's disgustingly cheap for the specs.

This is a good spot. That for the spec is disgustingly cheap. While the very offer is on, that might well be the best bang for buck laptop on the interwebs(!). This deserves loads of heat (even if it IS capitalising on a general deal :stuck_out_tongue: ).
Also, the Lenovo is DDR4, so any of you wanting to throw lots of memory at a portable test rig (lots of virtual machines) that can also do a decent spot of gaming, you should see this one. DDR4 is cheaper in high capacities than the DDR3 in the dell laptop deal.

Thought this code was for new credit accounts only? The code will work at checkout but will get rejected? this code will work on anything on the Very website for those who haven't tried it. You can even get the latest Samsung S7 or Iphone 6s with 20% off!!.... If it works that is...

Wasn't there a big "scandal" with Very and discount codes? I recall them processing orders without the codes citing that users weren't entitled to use it - so double check you bank account to make sure the correct amount is deducted.
I've looked up the T's & C's and it does state they can do this so please be aware - they may not of course and it might worth the risk as it's such a good discount but I thought this needed pointing out. Here are the T's & C's I found on the website
in past Very was doing just that. let you have the discount but than remove discount once your account up and running.
read T&C...
2.3 Promotional codes are codes that enable customers to obtain benefits such as discounts, free delivery and free gifts. These codes are non-transferable so may only be used by the person to whom they are issued and must only be used in accordance with their terms and conditions of use. If you use a promotional code to claim a promotional benefit, you must first check that it was issued to you and that you are eligible to use it. By using it to claim a promotional benefit you will be confirming that:-
you are entitled to use the code;
you meet all the conditions that apply to its use;
you agree to the terms set out below.
GTX960M is not what I'd say is great for gaming but is OK at this price.
12GB is entirely useless for gaming, especially on a laptop with the GPU power this has. However it would be useful for some higher end Photoshop editing and other semi pro tasks.

New customers only. The discount cannot be used with other codes or on the following ranges: All Apple products,
audio, gaming, computers, projectors, tablets, sale items, Financial Services products and delivery charges.

960M is awesome for gaming, can play loads of the latest games at 1080p60 easily.
I know from experience that it plays GTA V at 1080p60 and CSGO output to 1080p144.

Just a heads up, I asked them and got this reply:
Hi, sorry to advise this promo is for Very Exclusive accounts only. Thanks, Will
So they might charge the difference later. Great price though, maybe worth the risk... I won't be taking it
fubob11
31 May 16#15
Surely they can't remove the discount and charge you the extra discount even if they might be legally be allowed to. I'd imagine they'd inform you first and then ask whether you want to continue, otherwise the customer service is going to take on a sh*t storm.

very much right. yesterday while ordering it was showing £313 after applying the discount code, but very was trying to deduct the full amount £343 from my bank. I had to buy it through credit account and then called authorisation department to deduct £313 which worked for me.

That's not awesome for gaming at all. It's OK for a laptop, but don't kid yourself it's desktop performance.

This code is meant to be used on Very Exclusive and will most likely be rejected in the long run, great deal but be aware, VERY aware.

I was so excited, very nearly perfect, I would not buy from 'Very'
I had reverse charge despite cancelling an order plus several credit searches whilst I only wanted to buy outright then two months ago another charge from Very for the same order that was cancelled (and obviously never delivered). A nightmare getting money back and getting them to remove all your credit card data under the data protection act, if I am not a member they should not store my card details!

You and mine (and probably his even) version of "awesome" is probably a bit skewed. This'll run even the most modern title relatively well (probably slightly better than console for example) which for most people is probably very good.

good laptop specs and price, but I will never use lenovo laptops as I purchased recently lenovo laptop and crashed after downloading all upgrades for Windows 10, lucky for me as it was less than 14 days purcahse - returned for full refund!

It will play any title, however its relative GPU performance is around a Geforce GTX 650, so it's OK for a laptop, but I couldn't game on it for any length of time, it depends on what you want from the machine. There's many titles out there which won't have a problem running on the GPU in this laptop. It is a long way from awesome though.

The 960m is equivalent to the 750ti but everything else you said is true, my laptop has one its a high mid-range laptop graphics but still for laptop so everything is made to power, size and heat. So its OK for gaming
Chewyone
31 May 16#26
It's relative performance is around a 750Ti so it's much better than a 650.
Chewyone
31 May 16#27
It'll run at 1080p60 for any game, as long as you adjust a few settings. That's all you'll need for a laptop. I've even used a 960m and 970m for competitive CSGO on a 144Hz monitor. It is absolutely in the same as a mid-range/mid high desktop. It sounds like you're the kind of person who needs the 980m SLI to be even barely satisfied with laptop performance. Just try it.
fishmaster
31 May 161#28
A fart in a matchbox will play CS:GO, anyway I'm being pedantic, this GPU is upper midrange on a laptop and lower end on a desktop and the desktop will cost less. I have a Mac Mini with Intel Iris 5100 graphics I can play Insurgency on it, it's not pretty though. Even if I had just over double the power in relative terms just as the GTX960M does I'd be happier but it wouldn't do me for serious gaming.
I'd be mad to have GTX980SLI as the cost would be ridiculous  The GTX970M and 980M parts are much better than the GPU in this laptop and they would do the job for me, that's me. As mentioned previously use Youtube to see which games people are playing on similar hardware to this.

Note that many laptops failed to work after W10 upgrade.
My Sony failed after the upgrade, I had to revert back. Sony never 'OK'ed the upgrade but MS decided it was OK to upgrade anyway.
Unless Lenovo OKed the upgrade you can't really blame them for that.

Yes they can and they have done in the past. A guy who got done posted on a blog about it once. Apparently the codes go through if they're valid, but are often checked manually afterwards.

the question is:
can very make money selling these products for this prices?
i say even if they lose a bit on it they have to shift their stock to make room for new ones.
they certainly don't sell quick enough if you don't use the codes.
and there's a proof for that. they don't come up on hukd otherwise!

Now that they have put the price up they have lost their selling point - that it was marginally cheaper than others. They seem to have increased their prices on all other tech things. I guess no more technology sales as a result of their '20% off'. Very being a bit lairy.
