This really is a fab deal!
I have owned a whole range of tablets but currently am using this the lenovo a10 70 and the ipad Air.
The Ipad Air by far and away wins most tablets, simply amazing in resolution, speed and battery perfromence.
Two years on i can leave my ipad air switched on left aside for two days and pick it up two days later and the battery is still at the exact level i left it. With 15 webpages open there is still no lag. But anyway thats apple for you, and £379 in the making.
So what about the Lenovo? in a word brilliant!
The screen resolution at 1920 x 1080 is over 200ppi - people need to pay more attention to this!
I have mandatory requirements when buying a tablet for the family, its at least 9" and the screen resolution is at least 1920 x 1080
because i hate, small tablet screens where you are forever pinching an zooming and i hate grainy/pixalated pictures and texts.
(My test is that the bbc.co.uk/news page in desktop mode should load fully without me needing to zoom in to see the news links)
The lenovo A10-70 Screen is fab!
the next higher screen resolution tablets that are 10" and above
sony Z range tablets from new are over £300
The Galaxy Tab S range over £300
and the Apple Ipad range again over £300
so this lenovo a10-70 is the best resolution tablet at a mere £109
The galaxy tab A and tab E cost approx £179 and have abysmal quality, i think its just 149ppi
Resolution is how grainy a picture looks - put simply the higher the PPI number the better screen it is.
The resolution is the main feature i look for in a tablet, the vast majority of tablets less than £200 have a paltry screen resolution like the Galaxy Tab E and Galaxy tab A.
Another good feature on this lenovo A10 is the screencast feature, i can simply mirror my exact screen to my 55" smart TV. This is brilliant when doing presentations, explaining something to kids etc (this is something i cant do with my IPad, without buying an expensive ipadTV add on)
Last but not least schedule on/off feature - battery/eco friendly/energy saving this allows you to schedule when your lenovo switches on and switches off (wish android introduced this feature as standard).
my lenovo is currently on Android 5.0, it runs well, i can browse, watch you tube videos, facebook without any probs. its mostly lag free and the screen is gorgeous for browsing pages - i dont have to pinch+zoom like with most sub 9" tablets!
Its well worth the £109 - buy it! happy days!

Anyone who buys this tablet should definitely disable AAL, it really does improve performance, its easily seen when you go from the home screen left to right to other screens, it will stutter with AAL enabled, its as smooth as butter when its disabled.
The app you used doesn't include the nav bar when it calculates the screen resolution, if you downloaded the first screenshot this becomes painfully obvious, its no coincidence the nav bar is exactly 72 pixels in height.
Below is Kodi system properties running on this tablet, note the resolution.
I doubt it. It was released with 4.4, and according to Lenovo there is an upgrade to 5.0. Usually Lenovo offers only one upgrade, so I would not expect any in the future. 5.0 is two versions behind, know to be buggy, and full of security issues. Current is 6.0 and soon 7.0.
Which is a shame, because otherwise it is a good deal. But it seems to be already obsoleted by Lenovo. Which has to make it cold, especially since you can get a used Xperia l for similar money.

Great spot, I was annoyed that I missed the lower spec A10 (1Gb) model at Argos the other week for £99 reduced from £149 (now £109) but this has made my day, well my daughters.
Pleased I didn't get the other one now, this is much better and receives pretty good reviews for a budget tablet and that was at the discounted £149 price!
Thanks for posting, doubt it will stay at this price for long.

Its actually 1920 x 1128 if we want to split hairs haha. I have this tablet purchased in January or so at £119.99. Its well worth the money and as for a second hand Xperia for the same price, well maybe grade C perhaps but I looked for one of those when I bought mine and cheapest I could find that was in decent nick was £160.00+.
This is the best 10.1" full HD NEW tablet you can buy for this money.
I gave it 4 stars but if you need a more robust stand then go for one that doesn't form a little triangle. Sleep and wake works well.

I have one of these and the last update is Android 5.0.1
It has one really annoying problem being the erratic wi-fi (A bug in the Android 5.0.1) and a smaller problem being the Dolby Atoms app stops working if you use apps that aren't preinstalled.I stopped using the Dolby because of it.
Done a full factory reset thought it fixed it it seemed to run fine for a little while but then the Wi-fi problem came back, Lenovo knows full well about these problems but have never sent out a fix (Android update) and any help on the forum by them is non existent they just don't answer.
Great tablet apart from that.
4Real2016

Never had a wifi problem here, can stream 720p/1080p movies off my server without a single interruption and that's on 1 bar signal strength. Reset solved any dolby problems.

28 May 16#93
I'm surprised you haven't if you have the latest update they did which is Android 5.0.1 that is where the Wi-Fi bug is coming from it's a known issue with that android version but as Lenovo won't update any further then I'm stuck with the Android bug.
I suppose I could root it and get around it but that would ruin the 2 year guarantee.

Disappointing, and I explain WHY.
By Fantasimo - 27 May 2016
I bought the pearl white version, but since these are otherwise the same, I thought I'd paste my review in here too:
Yes sadly, this product disappoints. I did some research before buying, and on paper the specs for this product looked good, impressive even for the price. I also saw that it seemed to have fairly good reviews on balance, so I bought one for my father. However, after spending quite a lot of time with it, mostly with a degree of frustration, I have to say it does not live up to either the specs or the reviews.
Firstly, it is fairly slow to respond, often there is a delay of a second or two after pressing an onscreen 'button'. This, combined with a touchscreen that is erratic in responsiveness - sometimes unresponsive, and other times overly sensitive - means that you are often unsure whether it has registered your touch at all, leading to little waits and occasional over-clicks, that by and by add up to some frustration.
The screen is supposedly High Definition, but honestly I was unimpressed. It lacks sharpness and range in colours and contrast, and has a very slightly fuzzy look overall.
Sound is also bad - the speakers really need to be set to maximum just for everyday use, and even this is slightly too low for someone with normal hearing to enjoy watching videos in a quiet environment, and far below requirements for any place with background noise. Additionally they are slightly tinny and lack any sort of bass or gravitas.
Overall I found the device is rather 'clunky' to operate, and lacks intuitiveness in general operation; and this combines badly with the lack of a proper User Manual - there is only a very basic 'Quick Start' guide in the box and the only one available to download is in Chinese!

Just got one for my in laws, not sure about a gyroscope but I'd be surprised in this day and age if it didn't. It's certainly got an accelerometer.
There is only one USB port, so there's not other option apart from SD card or some kind of hub if you want to connect something else to it while charging.
I've had Sandisk MicroSD cards and they've been fine, I've never had a problem with any though to be fair. I've got a Samsung in my Galaxy, that's lasted two and half years without any problem. Just make sure you get a Class 10 card so it's fast enough for recording video etc!
And there's certainly not Android 6 update for it. I updated it for the first time the other day and it went to 5.0.1 (I think!)

Are there any recommended screen protectors for this model? Thanks
Its well worth the £109 - buy it! happy days!

Bought one of these at £119.99 and pleased with the build and performance.
However, the micro-sd card can only be formatted as fat32 which limits you to files under 2GB in size. Why have this restriction on a Full HD tablet? Madness!
Also agree the speaker sound quality is poor after the upgrade to Lollipop, but it's fine via headphones.

I've just attempted to cancel it as the Amazon one isn't the same as the one listed here. Why the hell do they have the same name when it's clearly 2 different models.

You must have a dud one. I bought one of these just after Christmas (or thereabouts) and it's been the best tablet I've ever used.
The 3 speakers are tinny, but then again, it's a tablet, not a home cinema system. It's more than enough at half volume to watch YouTube, play games and stream the occasional music to it.
The screen is super sharp with quite vibrant colours. Apps that don't have high res textures look blocky, but then I'd expect that.
Absolutely no problems when touching the screen or slow responsiveness, it's as fast as my old Sony Xperia Z2 mobile phone running the same apps.
You can't touch the screen with damp or wet fingers as it won't respond properly, but then again, you can't do that on my Sony Xperia Z5 Premium.
The downer is that there is no HDMI, but you can obviously screen mirror if your TV supports it.
At £109 it's an absolute bargain!!!

Android’s Daydream feature is an “interactive screensaver mode” that can activate automatically when your device is docked or charging, keeping your screen on and displaying information. Daydream mode can give your device an always-on information display.
You can download & install app called Zedge for live wallpapers.

Mines dispatched for delivery on weds, what's the deal with JL if I don't like it and I've used it can I get a refund?
AppStar
30 May 161#218
Only if there's a fault will they take it back. Don't think they'd make much money with customers trying and returning products. Don't think you'd like it either if you were running a business and people returned stuff with seals broken, etc just because they didn't like the feel of it.
Skymonkey
30 May 162#219
If you don't want it, don't take delivery. It'll be returned and you get a refund after 7 days.
If you want to try one, go to a local store like pc world or John Lewis to get an idea.
meherenow
30 May 161#220
What nonsense!
Of course you can send it back, you get a 14 day cooling off period for *most* items bought online where you haven't had a chance to inspect the goods beforehand...
Just bought a couple of white ones for my wife and myself from the Newcastle branch.
They had 2 of each colour so there should be 2 blue ones left.
Hope this helps someone after one.
doberman
30 May 16#222
. That is correct but note that a retailer has a right to deduct an amount from the reimbursement if the customer has diminished the value of the goods by handling them beyond what is necessary to establish their nature, characteristics and function. The Regulations establish a test as to whether consumers have handled the goods in a way beyond what might reasonably be allowed in a shop.
AppStar
30 May 16#223
That is true but only to a certain extent and it depends on what it is and the discretion of the retailer as well. Try returning something like the above with broken seals because you don't like the shade of blue it comes in and see what John Lewis will say. Even Argos will treat you the same way.

I did exactly the same and it ironed out my sound issues. I created my own sound profile, put everything up to 12db and left it at that. It won't go higher (the levels indicate it can) but the sound now is fine.
Great snappy tablet and now the sound is sorted I'm so very happy with it - especially with Nova Launcher on top and a great case of got from Amazon.

What tweaks did you make? Mine arrived yesterday and after opening atmos the sound went really bad. Through headphones was the worst, it was so low could barely hear voices which were echoing. I read up about it and force stopped Dolby, restarted it and thankfully was fine after that. My other half has a cheapy Asus and the sound is still better on that. I'm happy with it overall though.

I think I have sorted the wifi problems, I have a Virgin Superhub 3 which transmits 2.4ghz and 5ghz at the same time. Both bands had the same SSID and password so I changed one of the SSID's name and password. I think the tablet was keep disconnecting and reconnecting between 2.4ghz and 5ghz.
So far so good, it hasn't dropped the connection all morning.

Argh! Thought I had the sound issues sorted as it was working fine but it seems to just be a problem when using headphones. If listening to music/videos any background or lower voices are barely audible and are very echoey. Has anyone else had this or do I have a dud?

Had a lg gpad bought in the Asda deal for £99 a year ago. Loved it but it died about 3 weeks ago (wouldn't charge). Fortunately was still under warranty (just) so managed to get a full refund. Had been looking for a replacement but couldn't find anything that was the same spec for a sensible price (full HD, 16gb, 2gb ram). Saw this first thing Sunday morning and thought I would give it a punt. Initially very impressed but then had the problems with WiFi dropout almost immediately. Gutted and was resigned to sending it back. Mine shipped with lollipop but came up with a large update so thought I would give it a go. Since the update WiFi has been rock solid so happy again. Is reporting another smaller update now (114mb) but I don't want to risk upsetting things. The only thing I don't like is no HDMI out. (The gpad had no HDMI out but supported slimport). Can't have everything I suppose especially at this price.

I was critical of the sound and considered taking back however, I tweaked the Dolby Atmos sound and it's fine. If in doubt go to John Lewis and play one - I've done that also and compared to tab S2 and others and it's as the others. I'm very happy with my Tab, very very happy. :-)

Its well worth the £109 - buy it! happy days!

The app you used doesn't include the nav bar when it calculates the screen resolution, if you downloaded the first screenshot this becomes painfully obvious, its no coincidence the nav bar is exactly 72 pixels in height.
Below is Kodi system properties running on this tablet, note the resolution.

With cases is this a tab 2 A10-70 or tab 2 A10-30? cant see it on the spec list. Want to get them ordered as well.
I took this Screenshot a while back on this device and its 1920x1200, you cannot take a screenshot on android that's a different resolution than the screen.
Great buy at this price.
I suppose I could root it and get around it but that would ruin the 2 year guarantee.

Height Pixels = 1168
Density dpi = 240
If you don't believe me check the screenshot I posted.

look at the guys screenshot PROPERTIES - image size 1920*1200
look at the specs listed everywhere - 1920*1200
look at the explanation about why it says 1128 in your app
THINK!
heck i even downloaded it for my phone to see what it says... my screen is magic! changes resolution just by rotating!
Does this have a gyroscope?
Also, I notice it has MicroUSB for the charging. Are there connections available which let me use a USB stick with this too?
What microSD cards would you guys recommend? I've had difficulties with many in the past so I'd like some input.
Thanks.

However, the micro-sd card can only be formatted as fat32 which limits you to files under 2GB in size. Why have this restriction on a Full HD tablet? Madness!

Pleased with it.
