Hot price but only lukewarm product - battery life puts me off

GPU - NVIDIA GeForce GT 920M 2GB, why don't they just use Intel graphic card, saving a lot of battery...

Why do companies insist on tiny SSD drives? The raw price difference between a 128GB and a 256GB is maybe £20.

And even 256GB is small.

Because they make huge mark up on charging a lot more for bigger solid state drives. Dell is a good example of this. The premium for buying a solid state drive in a Dell laptop is, IMPO, ludicrous.

Most companies dont do upgrades though to bigger sizes in laptops.

My HP Envy i7 came with the biggest hard drive they did - 256GB - so at some point i'm going to end up pulling it apart to put a bigger drive in.

Agree totally RE: Dell - my Alienware 13 would have cost two fortunes to get a large SSD in, so i just fitted one later and used the 1TB HD elsewhere. :sunglasses:

Actually, likewise with the RAM in the Alienware - i upgraded to 16GB and sold the 8GB on for a fraction of the price Dell were looking

​Why would you want to put a larger drive in. Personally I'd put a smaller drive in to encourage people to back their data up more often. Don't use most of data we store on drive. so more sensible to only leave on what absolutely need and back the rest up to an external drive. better being safe than sorry

Then you install a few apps. Office, antivirus, etc.

And what about your collection of Steam games? Not all games are graphic intensive.

Or your OneDrive? Folders you want to access offline are copied to your C: Drive

A few movies on there?

Music Library?

And BACKUP means "take a copy of". Theres that little space free you cant do that - you'd have to MOVE your files to another drive which means accessibility problems.

Given prices, theres no reason at for the absolute min not to be 256GB SSD and the standard to be 512GB

Remember that price match a while ago for the Y50-70, that laptop conked out on me. They happily replaced it.

I have had a nightmare of a time buying direct from Lenovo (Digital River) and trying to return an item that was coming apart (poor build quality, screen not attached properly) from day 1. Have since bought another laptop but the Lenovo is still boxed awaiting collection (2 months later)...
