This stuff has absolutely no heath benefits if eaten apart from the calories to stop you dying of starvation.

This one perfect for cooking - better than cold-pressed which contains impurities which will burn when heated and become potentially toxic. Exactly as Extra Virgin Olive oil is not good for cooking for the same reasons, and in fact should never be used for frying. Refined oils are far more healthy for cooking.
As to the vitamins etc - this is an oil not a smoothie. Most water soluble and protein based items will be absent. You will get far more vitamins etc etc from eating one square cm of coconut than you will from a jar of cold pressed coconut oil.

What do you use it for as I only use organic cold pressed for the health benefits. Isn't this one a bit pointless?

Maybe if you don't want your food to taste of coconut.... This has 99.9% of the the health benefits of organic cold pressed coconut oil.

This one's ok for beauty but not for cooking as so processed it's no health benefits.

That's just not true. What are the additional known health benefits of it being organic, cold pressed or otherwise?

If you google it you would know, cold pressed means majority of the vitamins and minerals stay rather than being heat to the point of loosing them all, as for organic source I think everyone knows what it means. The ktc one has absolutely no health benefits its like eating an apple candy rather than an apple.

Yes olive oil you should never heat but coconut oil is the one that can be heated and its the only vegetable oil that should be heated.Bit of research and you would know that. Im a healthy lifestyle promoter and when it comes to those things I know for sure cos this is how I earn my money. Obviously everyone has their own opinion but you can't foul your body with what you put in it.

For frying and roasting I stick to clarified organic (grass fed) butter, then use organic raw coconut oil for things like bean fudge, which aren't cooked. EV Olive Oil for roasting veg at a low temperature.

Apart from when you heat it, as most people do with oils, you don't get free radical damage. That's far more important than any vitamins if you are someone who does a fair bit of frying.

Ask from someone who lives in a south Asian country where most people use coconut oil on almost every food they cook there. Then checkout the health of them as well. You can decide on the health benefits of coco oil by yourself.

I'm amazed how much more I spent at myprotein for 1000ml. Probably a better product but jeez. 15.99 vs 1.50!

As a sufferer of heart problems, I have to be careful of the kinds of fats I eat. Reading the health benefits of coconut oil leads one to believe it is better for you. Not true unfortunately. At least according to the British Heart Foundation, whose advice you ignore at your peril!! Great myth-busting article here: BHF

Does it work as a lube? Seems to be claimed to do everything else but I haven't yet seen any reports on whether it's better than KY?

It soaks into the skin unlike an artificial lube like KY, so you might need to reapply....

for vegans it is useful as it is solid at room temp - hence it's usefulness as a butter replacement.
My belief also is that, like butter it is harder for your cholesterol to clear it out of your bloodstream and excessive eating would lead to atheroclerosis

I've just read that article. A lot of arrogant over simplification by the writer I reckon. Unfortunately.

The fancier stuff is like £9 a jar and no way am I paying that much for cooking oil.

Yes, you can, not that you'd know from most of the comments. I think they're so absorbed with fighting an imaginary battle against pseudo-science schmucks they're overlooking the fact coconut oil makes for a simple and beneficial alternative to sunflower oil.

Bacon fat is a beneficial alternative to coconut oil but I don't bang on about it.
