I found the Karcher hose is much better quality than Hozelock. Seems a good price to me - I paid around £45. I bought mine about 3 years ago so they could have dropped the quality in order to reduce the price?

that was my gripe too. initial impressions show its good. But that I've only used it once probably doesn't give an ideal impression

I've had one for about 2 weeks and it fell apart. One of the support legs which is held in the wall bracket came away from the reel. Silly little plastic fixings which will not last very long. So although I love Karcher products I would not recommend this one.
