can this be played with out having to be connected to the internet for long periods. GTA screwed me over on that and diablo 3?
Looks just about playable at 4k on a 970, depends on fps you're used to, guy at work has a pair of 970 cards and a 4k monitor and said he found this a little jerky when the explosions were in full swing but pretty much spot on at 1440 . New 1080 card would make it buttery smoooooth!

It may be poorly developed but the 4K PC version is streets ahead of ps4. Well what would you expect? The 970 costs more than a ps4 with room to spare. I wasn't impressed at all with the ps4 version. But that was before any major patches. Maybe it's better now. Ps4 is a great machine and what it does is rather good. Especially for the money. You wouldn't get a £250 PC running stuff like uncharted 4 at the same level( or a £500 PC for that matter)

Why? Have you tried it yourself in native 4k? I'm not in the habit of lying. I expected someone to post their doubts, and to be honest I don't blame you in certain respects. I suspect on my previous 1080p panel this wouldn't have run so smoothly but on my new 4K panel games run much more smoothly without DSD upscaling to 4K.
So far the game runs smoothly. I admit I've not played for long it's possible further in that I get some slowdown or tearing. But I'm pleasantly surprised that it's lovely and smooth with a rock solid frame rate.

Well pretty much every ubisoft game from the last 5 years for one. Or Square Enix games for another. Or The Witcher 3. Basically there are plenty.

It's crystal clear for me. But I'm playing at native 4K.

Thanks. This is a good deal. I'm using a 970 and running at native 4K everything maxed and it runs smoothly without tearing or any slowdown. I'd forgotten wha a quirky game This series is. Graphics are vibrant, sound is superb. It's a good game but never worth £40. I tried it in ps4 at Xmas amd it played badly. It's a different game at 4K on PC. Yes this is a good deal. Heat added.

It's not likely to be on origin on account of not being an EA title.

I'm absolutely not bothered about running it on any kind of major level, i'd be perfectly content with "good enough" and a relatively smooth experience.

Well if you don't mind 720p and low-medium settings then you could probably make do with less. I would imagine that a £90 card would be cutting it fine though if I'm honest.
I have a 970 and played this on max settings @1080 with the rare frame rate drop

i did read that, but it's definitely my GPU though.
i'd love to play the most recent tomb raider as well as the most recent assassin's creed, but my card just isn't up to it. i think the cheapest one i could get is about £90 quid which is too much at the moment.

bought it at a similar price last year but can't afford a graphics card powerful enough to actually play it !

It might not even be your GPU. The PC version was reportedly very poorly developed and optimised.
