All countries are gradually being brought in line with US pricing, making it harder to find a cheap deal.
CD Keys is probably cheapest at £31.90 unless you want to buy from some dodgy Latvian on ebay.

The cheap gold deals seemed to end around Christmas last year, before Christmas you could get 12m (sometimes more) for £20!! Since then the prices have rocketed, I got mine from CDKeys for about £29ish, I think its still about that price?!? Just DONT get it from Microsoft as theirs is a rip off!

Such a ****

Do you really believe what you are saying???

If you own both XB1 and PS4 you'll realise both are good in different ways
I like fighting games and racing games and other stuff
XB is way ahead with Forza but if PS had a fantastic racing series of their own and had realised 3-4 games already then i'd stand up for them

I thought Ryse was an awful game. I bought it for £38, realised my mistake and sold it for the same. Having bought a day one Xbox One with Forza 5 download included, I'd say that as good as Forza 5 was, there were far too few tracks and you just ended up driving the same tracks backwards and shorter versions etc.
Forza 6 is a great driving game. I don't honestly see the desperate need for Ryse or Forza 5 to be on Games With Gold, especially how cheap they are if people really are that keen to play them. I'd rather play Condemned that I bought for £1.95 on Ebay for Backwards Compatibility. Haven't played it since 2006 and really enjoy it.

Nice. Sony need to pick the ball up this gen. PS4 games have been lacking somewhat. The only real Plus game of worth was RL imo.

27 May 16 3 #164
That's how all the Uncharted games are. They're good, to the point where I would say they are the best games on the PS, but are they the best games ever?! Not so sure.
The newest one is the only reason that I would consider buying a PS4, but at £250+ for a console, just to play one game - think I'll stick with my XBOne.

It's not exactly spectacular. I've been playing it on and off over the last 24 hours and it's OK. Feels like an interactive movie to me.
They feel the need to have to highlight everything with which button you need to press. Holds your hands through the entire game.
You can't even get stuck on it as it throws hints at you if you take too long.

A game you wish you had on the Xbox. It is THAT good. PS4 will get better games whilst Xbox users will get overjoyed at game that was on the 360 and PS+. Shows the mentality of Xbox users, when some of the first comments on these kind of threads are in reference to PS+. It's understandable as you must have been frustrated paying for xbl when PS+ was getting all these games and now you're getting garbage games.

PS4 actually has decent games now, don't need to play last gen games to have fun. Whilst all you Xbox owners were paying for online, PS+ users were playing all these games which your only getting now.

Can't wait to see what last gen game you get next so you lose your heads over it and then I can post PS3 got it years ago. You play last gen games whilst I play Uncharted 4.

Bit of a meh month for me as the ones I would be interested in were already given on +, I'm not on board with the whole lol so random Goat Simulator and Generic Racer 73 but you can't please all of the people all of the time as they say. For the cost of live I'm not going to complain.

Also am I the only person the finds it really annoying that they split them over the month? I have forgot to download a couple because I forgot to go back and check in the second part of the month, they were ones I wasn't really interested in but still.

Can stream ps4 to vita, Sony phones, windows and macs over the Internet (not just on the local network)

Also, the '8 year model' isn't that just 360-one and PS3-4? It's not really a model if it's only happened once

For example ps1 1994 - ps2 2000 - PS3 2006 - ps4 2013. So more like 6 years

24 May 16 #108
Playing Tropico atm, quite enjoy it, mainly just play it over remote play though, but the last few months, they still feel a bit underwhelming, I thought Sony would be releasing decent games now that the PS4 is over 2 years old..
nosherfj
24 May 16 1 #107
lots of reasons to like xbo.
1.NTFS flash drive support (MKV's 4GB+) which beats FAT32 (I used this recently to play The Big short MKV which was 5.46 GB in size
2.TV DVR will land soon.
3.NTFS EXT HDD support (other consoles only have support for up to 2TB INT HDD then what do they do?)
4.DirectX which once fully implemented would unlock 1080p gaming
5.Batteryless controllers when using micro usb cable also ease of replacment battery when battery loose capacity later in life cycle.
6.Play xbo games on windows 10 pc via streaming

In reality though both PS4 and XBO are already old machines hence why both will launch newer upgradable machines earlier in there life cycle as the old 8 year life span model is now old and stagnant.

Between the XB1 and PS4 I can't keep up with all of the free games! Nevermind the XBOX 360 and PS3 games you also get free!! On top of that I have a massive pile of games for both the XB1 and PS4 still not opened or barely played. I think I need to stop buying games for a while, or be more selective of the games I do buy, and just start playing the free games!

Nice, i do not have The Crew or Goat sim on the XB1, or Xcom on the 360, so this month looks very nice indeed.

And why do we need this constant "my plastic box is better than your plastic box" in every thread like this, this is a deals site, not the YT comments sections.:disappointed:
Jenkiins
24 May 16 1 #96
Upscaled 900p is not native 1080p and there is a notable difference. Is it a huge deal? No but it's a grievance with anyone who has a good television and good eyesight.

The Xbox one is a disappointment to me and apparently many other former 360 owners who appear to have jumped to playstation, given the disparity in sales. I understand people who can only afford one system get hyper defensive about it, sad as that is.

Regarding PC. If I'm honest, I don't play call of duties and fifas... It happens to be that the vast majority of games I play are largely not available on PC (like Halo, Uncharted, Bloodborne, Gears, Zelda etc (although it seems Microsoft could be winding down the xbox brand and transitioning to PC in the future))

Anyway.. X-Com is a great game so this month is good for those that don't have it
Meshen
24 May 16 #89
Sony has the better hardware, better exclusives and better versions of multiplats... but if they stiff us again this month I'm selling up and getting an Xbone. The games with gold and the backwards compatibility is starting to swing it for me.

bilbob
24 May 16 1 #92
You do realise that the vast majority of Mplat games are only one 'step' apart on resolution, right? ie, 900p to 1080p, and that's on the internal frame buffer... the output on both will be 1080p... so your tv will see 1080p pictures regardless of which console on the vast majority of titles.
You do also realise that not every game renders at 1080p on the ps4 either?

Really, if you want to be so superior, I suggest you go to PC gaming.
AndyEssex
24 May 16 1 #91
Really? I have both but PS4 users were getting nonsense indie titles last year while xbox one owners were getting Tomb Raider etc.I think GWG not only has upped it's game this year but was also a better choice of free games last year.
Jenkiins
24 May 16 #90
Quantum break looks like ass on the 40" Panasonic plasma in my living room and the 55" bravia in our game room. You xbox fanboys need to accept that sub 1080p games were okay 5 years ago not so much anymore.

The problem is when fanboys listen to the playground hype with little knowledge of what they are actually saying. Lets face it, the first batch of games suffered on both systems, the Xbox couldn't make 1080p and the PS4 stuttered because it did (I know which issue I would find it easier to live with!), now they are both pretty much sorted, anyone worrying over 900p, 1080p, 4k or 500000000k needs to examine why they are playing games

As someone who has grown up with the Spectrum and loved games like JetPac and Manic Miner, I can appreciate that a good game is not defined by the graphics

It is the same drive technically, but if you like it and it works fine then who cares

The green case does look good if you wanted it on display rather than hid around the back. I don't think 5 more is that bad.
zombrex
24 May 16 4 #53
Plug it into your Pc I guarantee you can use it, face it you fell for marketing blurb and paid a premium for the privelege.

You'll be trying to sell us Avon next ...

Excellent games have ps4 & xbox one so not a fanboy but GWG currently is the pound for found champion for me. Last year was PS Plus
Maverick_TF
24 May 16 #51
not a bad month, not gonna say amazing but I'm happy with the selection, can hardly moan at the games they give away these days, I'm sure for a lot of people who believed the rumours of Forza, Ryse, Bioshock and RDR they will be the complainers!
masterplanner
24 May 16 2 #50
gears of war rehash and rare replays ancient games? you think that is the best thing on xb1, really? and a blurry mess for new games on 1080p, what u think it needs 4k or something? It cant even manage 1080 lol. you deffo need to go to specsavers. Just another bloody moan with nothin positive (or even realistic) to say, this place is riddled with them.
KomodoDragon
24 May 16 1 #49
very disappointing this month

24 May 16 #48
Great games, but as is usually the way with GWG - if it's good I have it, if it's not good or not my cup of tea I don't.
That's not a complaint - it's just the way it naturally pans out.

I'm not sure if I have The Crew, but I'm pretty sure I have Goat Sim on Steam and on one of the xbox consoles, I have X-Com on both steam and 360, and I have SMB on both steam and 360.

Heat added, natch.
Andy@XCite
24 May 16 2 #47
The Crew is a very good game, since its overhaul.
Don't believe the reviews on this one.

Very good month for xboxers.
Ballie11
24 May 16 #46
They are not the green one is for Xbox only as per the description on Amazon when I bought it. I ain't arguing with you, I have what I want and you have what you want, but you cannot use this one on PC.
zombrex
24 May 16 1 #45
They are exactly the same drives, only difference is the case and the xbox branding lol

Been using a 4TB Seagate since the external drives have been supported no issues.
fingermouse27
24 May 16 2 #44
am I alone in being slightly underwhelmed by these titles? we had a cracking April ( sunset overdrive, wolf among us , saints row 4 and dead space) but may and now June both average at best...
Ballie11
24 May 16 #43
No, didnt want to do that. I wanted the Official one that was specifically designed for Xbox only and not for use with PC as well. It sounds silly, but the other two that went kaput were both Xbox and Pc compat. So far I have been justified in my purchase.

And the green looks very nice as well. ; )
Ballie11
24 May 16 1 #42
I am having doubts about Red Dead being BC.

I reckon a remastered/defintive version is incoming, just being kept under wraps right now.
zombrex
24 May 16 3 #41
Or just buy a normal Seagate one instead of paying £20-30 more for a green case pmsl
Ballie11
24 May 16 #40
The only Xbox exclusive games I care about this year are Forza Horizon 3(Ultimate Edition) and Gears of War 4.

Goat Simulator seriously!

I highly recommend the official Seagate External Hard Drive for the X1. Had it 6 months and been great.

The reason I say this as I had WD and Toshiba external hard drives both of which went kaput after 2/3 months, so I went for the Official One which was a little more money but totally worth it.
shanewba90
24 May 16 1 #34
Plan on getting on myself, you going for the official xbox version or just any?
Ballie11
24 May 16 #33
I haven't got The Crew or Super Meat Boy so glad to have them.

However, it is annoying the X-Com Enemy Within isn't there which is has much more content than Enemy Unknown, but I will have to wait for that to become BC.

Goat Simulator is absolutely brilliant and hilarious if you just want half an hour of brainless stupid fun.

Heat added.
mudstuff
24 May 16 #32
Heat good for me. Very nearly bought goat simulator a few times and only played the beta of the crew (wasn't too fussed). Happily have a go for "free"

24 May 16 1 #29
This a good month. Goat game, no idea but just the name sounds fun. The Crew i saw had bad reviews but i liked the idea of driving across the States esp since i spent 80days going across America last Summer.
Super meat boy, i have, X-com, im up for.
As for Red dead, i think whats happening is when they announce the new Red dead game which at the earliest will be April/May next year, they will make Red dead backwards comp and say play that til then. Rockstar have said several times they dont see the point in remasters unless your making a big difference.

24 May 16 3 #25
Hardly. Halo 5 and Quantum Break look like blurry dogmess on my 1080p Television. The best games on the system are Rare Replay and Gears of War remastered :disappointed:

X-Com is fantastic game I hope everyone plays it.

Now if only Microsoft can announce some games of the quality of Uncharted 4 or Bloodborne at E3 this year to validate my purchase. If not I'll be selling up after Gears 4

24 May 16 1 #23
Well, I'm getting Goat Simulator to stack with the 360 version I guess. Other than that, not a great month for me, but with my backlog, that's no big deal really.

Hasn't Bioshock: The Collection been rated for PC, PS4 & Xbox One? I'd be highly surprised if that has even been mentioned as a potential for GwG.

Thanks for the heads up, FD. I was holding out for the list before I purchased Pool Nation FX from the Spotlight Sale, had a hunch it was going to be in this month's offerings. :smirk:

WerewolfByNight
24 May 16 1 #17
Yeah, there were rumours that it would be coming on the Japanese (I think) GWG. It was rumoured with pics a few days ago. Looks like it could've been a hoax. I guess we'll know around E3.

Think I got my hopes up with a few sites posting their rumours that it would be Red Dead and Bioshock Infinite.. So called gaming news sites need to put a stop to that.

As for me, nothing really of interest this month at all. Not as bad as last month though.
