Anyone, with any sense, if they find a red hot bargain, will sit on it until they are sure that they have definitely got one for themselves, before posting on here!
How many times do you see misprices getting published, the site is then blitzed with bargain hunters and 2 minutes later the price disappears or the stock runs out. Just like today.

really hope everyone who orders gets their beds. my friend was the first to order a few days ago when I told her and is expecting delivery today. so may be worth asking her to come and comment on what's arrived.

Mine arrived, as with everyone else it is more a budget bed and not a £700 one. That said, for £80 it isn't all bad. However, for £40.34 it is superb. My chat transcript;

The people that ordered the bed, and now trying to cancel... why ?

Was it because you could ?

Was it because your brain got all excited ?

Or was it in the hope that if enough ordered no one would get one

If you can say yes to any of the above, you really should think about that

And maybe cancel all your cards and paypal

Makes me so angry

I ordered because i was looking for a new one

Got mine and assembled it today, naturally the delivery guys just dropped it off and took a pic and left (not allowed to move it further than by the door*)
Build quality isn't amazing, I broke the drawer already >_< but that was carelessness. Otherwise the bed and mattress looks awesome and even has little wheels you can add at the bottom.

Eh? My delivery was a full size lorry reversing up a 100m narrow lane with no footpath because they did not know at the end there is a carpark to turn in lol took them 5 mins with the other delivery guy out directing him, there at the adjacent carpark is open space around a few trees and a wide pavement to a regular road...I always tell large deliveries to stop there and walk across a small car park but they never do ?

Yes make a complaint.

Well my bed couldn't be delivered by the lorry it came in yesterday as they couldn't get down our street - delivery has been rescheduled for the 31st  I might go back to Amazon and complain as this is quite frankly ridiculous.

I should also add that many people have had deliveries by lorry here and this is the 1st time ever that this excuse has been used....

these beds and mattresses are rubbish not even worth £80
told you this , and most amazon reviews agree :smirk:

20 May 16 1 #580
We got the delivery this morning, managed to check it whilst in the vehicle and found that the mattress looked OK. The divan base was bit flimsy. The blue stripes looked awful and didn't suit our decor.

But call it fortunate/unfortunate, coincidentally our silentnight bed set, which was also posted in HUKD a month ago (http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/silentnight-stanfield-pillowtop-kingsize-2-drawer-divan-from-argos-332-79-with-code-2436620) came an hour earlier to this. I accepted the delivery as I didnt want to end up with no bed at all, if the amazon one gets cancelled in the last minute.

This was supposed to be our main bed, so given the bad reviews and lack of space to store another kingsize bed waiting to return, I had no choice but to reject the delivery. I know cost wise I would have saved a lot, but not sure how it would be after an year of use. Moreover, I am based in London, where disposal charges will be more than the cost of the bed itself.

I am happy at least I had an opportunity to view this bed and made a concious decision to reject it.

Received yesterday and its a cheap bed yes but still a bargain at £80. Not quite sure what everyone was expecting? No marks on ours so I guess we were lucky. Not slept on it yet but we needed a bed for our spare room so either we will relegate ours and keep this one or just stick this in the spare room.
vennuth1
20 May 16 1 #577
I haven't slep on much junk, because I'm not Oscar the grouch, but I can say with a degree of certainty that this bed is distinctly more comfortable. Did you assemble and sleep on your bed? Or are you saying this with total uncertainty, and basing it purely on the weight of the divan base. Which would be a little odd.

Received on Tuesday...it's standard divan base...the cotton covering is thicker than standard though...mattress is very comfortable....havent felt a spring or anything like that...nice cushioned top....paid 230 for a sealy posturepedic and had back problems in the morning and pressure point soreness since....last 2 mornings nothing at all

Did buy a memory foam mattress toppee but only as we aren't used to feeling the depressions where the little cloth buttons are in the bed...but that would be the same with any mattress of that type...

Would agree it's not ortho as I find ortho tp be very firm....this is a medium mattress and suits both myself and my partners needs thus far

Amazon have been great and in light of a few differences between reality and the description offered a substantial discount

Happy days
All in all very happy....

has anyone stopped to think why amazon are offering partial refunds?
amazon is not the direct seller so why are they discounting? they must have been authorized by joseph international to offer a partial refund as amazon would not take a loss on another suppliers products surely..
obviously joseph international are happy to take £40 and get rid of these beds
i wonder why

i had another moan to Amazon chat about only getting a 25% refund and I said that a lot of people received a 50% refund but my advisor had falsely said that the maximum refund was 25%.

if i wanted to buy one i could have, thanks but no thanks, once bitten and all that, id rather sleep on the floor, not that i have to because i got the tesco silentnight kingsize glitch deal divan and mattress last year for £200 now thats what you call a bed not this cheap imported garbage...but hey if your happy sweet dreams my friend

After ordering my bed on the 9th at 10.20 am i followed it all the way though the dispatch prossess. Saying will be despatched between the 14th and 16th.

Today at 07.01am i recieved a txt from arrow xl saying my bed would be delivered between 11am anf 1pm tomorrow.

Great its on its way.

Then i got a txt from arrow xl saying that my delivery had been canceled, angry doesnt begin to explain

I chatted with arrow xl on thier web site, and they informed me the bed was in such a mess it was unservisable, smashed base and ripped matteress, so they have canceled the order.

I said ok, thank you, i'll contact Amazon.

On contacting Amazon, i was told all they could do was refund me the £80.67

Not a chance i said, ive waited since the 9th may then watched my bed go through the despatch prossess only to be canceled.

Sorry sir we can only refund.

I asked to speak to a manager.

The manager informed me that joseph international was under investigation by Amazon,

I explained i had got rid of my bed, as i had, had a txt saying my new bed would be here tomorrow.

I was told those beds were not available any more.

I will not say what alternative we came to, but i am very happy indeed <3

Getting a partial refund would be great if not suitable - eBay have cheap toppers - there is a shop selling ex Argos slumber land returns. We bought 1 for our campervan - they sent the cheaper model in the more
Expensive packaging. I complained to eBay and got a complete refund as the seller never responded. I guess the "original customer" conned Argos by returning the cheaper one

I think it was pretty self explanatory really. As others have said the design isn't great and not what is shown in the picture, there are marks on the bed that have happened in transit, but the bed and mattress on a whole are worth £80, but not the original price. Is that less silly for you?
vennuth1
17 May 16 1 #485
Received our bed today, complained about the black mattress/turquoise base - and the quality of the divan - got £40 off. The draw wouldn't hold a lot of weight, but otherwise it is perfectly acceptable. The mattress is very comfortable for my tastes. Had a lovely afternoon nap on it. For £40, this is an utterly unreal steal.

mine has just arrived. Obviously not a £700 bed and people were a little delusional to think thats what they would get. but is well worth the £80. i would say you would easily pay between 2 to 300 at in a bed shop. the mattress is worth £100 on its own. absolute bargain if you ask me.

^ I agree. Just received mine a few minutes ago. Doesn't look anything special. The condition is good and mattress seems a little soft for me. Will need to open it up and to get a better look. No damage or ripped packaging was a good sign considering the pictures posted before. For the spare room I think it will be fine. Stick some nice sheets on to hide that hideous design/colour.

Just taken delivery of mine. As others have said it's certainly not a £700 bed but for £80 it's a bargain. Mine looks in good condition. Mattress isn't too hard neither too soft. Haven't had a chance to fully unwrap it and give it a proper once over as had to rush off to work but on first impressions I am happy. I was given a 09:30-11:30 window and it came at 09.15 so good service

My review is up on Amazon, as is another negative one:

"Delivery was OK.. We took the base upstairs no issues it's so light! When I put the wheels in we noticed a dip in the frame. It turned out to be a huge dint in the base itself! But as we have no bed we took photos and continued fitting it, we open the draw and looked in to the damage and the base looks as tho its been punched (hit something hard at one point) and broke the board! Also the wood looks like something from a pallet except a pallet has more wood and stronger!

The mattress is ok again not to bad for us replacing a 10 year old mattess but again near one end it dips.. Feels like it's got a spring out... We have to use it as we don't have a bed anymore but I would recommend a through check on delivery! You get what you pay for just so glad I didn't pay the full retail price! I would have been a lot more upset if I had! Photos taken and emailed Amazon with the faults. Also if is blue and white striped! "

There is a five star review which I'm quite suspicious about, especially as they say they paid the full £368, I'm very doubtful this is a real review:

"Excellent value for money, paid £368 ! "

Just clicked on customer service via my app on my phone (first time I've used it) gave me the option to click which item I have a query with. Then the option to arrange a call back which was instant.

Queried my order being sent and should receive today but text says tomorrow and also mentioned about reviews online stating its not a luxury product.

She said I can refuse delivery and it will be returned to us, I mentioned will I be charged and she said no. Also asked do I need to send an email to let you know I've refused and my reasons why and she said no also.

I'm not expecting great things from this so looks like I'm be refusing delivery. Don't think it was a price glitch more like Amazon dumping some **** stock on customers.

Mine arrived this morning and I'd agree its a very cheap basic bed and doesn't look like the pictures on Amazon at all. The base feels like it is made out of balsa wood as its so light so not convinced how well that will last. If I was buying this bed at full price I'd be very disappointed. a basic bed/divan would be just that, but it has draws fitted, so could be classed as luxury, also, somewhere in this thread is a write up about matteresses, it states, that some cheaper beds have a plastic runner around the edge of the mattersess, but better ones have a metal strip  ie both could be classed as luxury

Yeah same as mine. I was expecting a phone call. Read the large goods delivery info:

You may use Scheduled Delivery or Standard Delivery. If an item is eligible for Scheduled Delivery, you'll be able to choose the delivery date and time frame that works best for you, based on your post code.

If you do not choose a Scheduled Delivery or if the option is not available, we will use your postcode to allocate the delivery to a specialist carrier in your area who will then telephone you, normally the second business day after the order was placed (if your item is not in stock at the moment you place the order, it may take longer), to arrange delivery.

kristoff1875 to ianjones32
12 May 16 #307
Yeah spot on mate. We have a fairly new memory foam mattress that we're keeping we only needed the base of this. I'll stick the mattress on gumtree for £80 and see what I can get for it, but to be honest, I was being quoted £150-200 for a king divan base with drawers anyway, so at £80 it's a bargain.

kneale81
12 May 16 #290
Not really worth me putting photos up as all you'll see is three big things covered in plastic taking up half of my dining room! Had the email to confirm Arrow XL will call me to confirm collection day/time, hopefully it's very soon as it's taking up too much space.

coolcraig999
12 May 16 1 #292
take delivery see what you think, mine was far to soft and very springy, but it might be fine for a small child , and you dont like it im sure the could be a fault on it so you would get free returns, i dont wish to put a downer on this deal but my experience was it was poor and funnily enough my mattress also had black marks on it
kneale81
12 May 16 #291
If you're wondering what it's like I'd ask to have a quick look before they unload it rather than them carrying it to your house and then refusing. Wish I'd done that now. Other people may be happy with it, it's just that I'm not.

kneale81

Yes, I've set up the return on Amazon and it's free, just waiting to hear back via email as to when it's going to be collected. Will try and put photos up.
kneale81
12 May 16 #282
Mine's going back.

It looks cheap and nasty, the divan base is very light. Also, there are black marks on the divan where they've been dragged along the floor and holes have appeared in the plastic covering (it's really thin). I only got it for the mattress, but even that looks cheap, I was going to sell the base units but doubt I'd make my money back and don't actually want the mattress now.

If I'd paid £300+ for this I'd be fuming right now. I'm not even considering selling it on as I'd be too ashamed when they buyer came to collect it. I got a Silentnight divan a year or two ago from Amazon for £200, heavily reducued, and I posted it on here and the difference in quality between the two is immeasurable.

had to go on the main site to read the full thread. I originally found it late last week, I have a small Facebook group which mainly has amazon deals on it. My friend really did purchase this late last week, although slightly cheaper and I messaged her earlier to ask if it had arrived, it's out for delivery today. obviously it's just my say so and I completely understand people being wary. tis okay. just thought it may help someone out if they really needed a new bed. I find alsorts on there. best things being my table and 8 chairs, which were under £100 all in, a sideboard which is massive, was reduced to £40, my divan base (king size) was £18. I'd be one of those annoying people who always seem to find stuff reduced. I'm more likely to share more after today though. I thought I'd be eaten alive

I meant about putting it on Gumtree, not about profiteering. But anyway, just double checked the email from Amazon and, as reddycbvb said, they're saying it's ok to refuse delivery and it'll go back to them for a full refund. So, problem solved. Until they close my Amazon account, but that's another thread..

Any business can take payment at any time without a contract being formed if you have placed an order. You are correct in that MOST retailers, especially online, do not consider a contract has been made (their T's & C's) until the items have been dispatched.

You can't see the price now because Amazon have changed it in the last few minutes. It was at 80.67, I ordered one at got confirmation of the purchase. Maybe a mis-price which the system noticed and then flagged up to staff, but if people are actually receiving delivery estimates and the preparing for dispatch status, it may just have been Amazon off loading some stock. Anyway, its history now!

5' x 6'6" is kingsize
Measurements show 197 x 150 x 66 cm which is king

5ft is a standard kingsize bed (width).

This is an end drawer:

http://www.harrisonbeds.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/End-drawer-standard-conti_ALT21.jpg

Continental drawers are those on the side (as we usually see in divans). So my understanding is that it will have both.

Yeah. I deleted my comment after the app had a moment and didn't actually change my selection.

I'm tempted to buy a 2nd at that price.

It will fill the spare room tho. And the wife is at work so I can't ask her.... But it might expire soon..... Help!!!

?!?!?!! The item says "Joseph Esyy Luxury Ortho Divan Set with End Drawer 5 ft" and the style is "End Drawer + Continental -Drawer" in amongst all the other styles. It is really clear this is a bed with that configuration of drawers!
