Someone just posted a supposed deal at Currys but as usual their sale prices are laughable
Get a much better deal over at Amazon AND prime delivery so next day delivery (for those with Prime of course) otherwise it's just a few days.
This is only the white model. The space grey one is £289 though and STILL cheaper than Curry.
Amazon customer services are far better than Currys as well if anything goes wrong although you are covered by Apple anyway which is normally Brilliant.
To be honest if you don't mind used, they actually go for less than £200 but for new this isn't a bad price at all.
If you are getting this deal...definitely worth signing up for a Freedom Pop micro sim as well...200MB a month free so for low bandwidth users it will be perfect.
Should actually get it cheaper than this as well if you go via Flubit...cant hurt to try as they ALWAYS beat the price if only by a little...thanks to @c0stass1000 for the gentle reminder/nudge on this

Yes & on Android you can also get left behind with...
OS updates
Security updates
But then again, with Android, you can always benefit from...
Malware infestation
Shoddy coding of apps
An AppStore which is more like the Wild West than a pukka source
But, you are right. Android is open... open to abuse, open to being fragmented and open to every security threat that gets reported except for the misreporting of so-called iOS security breaches which actually turn out to be nothing more than hot air.

It still amazes me the crap that people write on here! You're supposed to vote hot or cold on a deal whether you think the product advertised is a damn good price not whether there is a superior product in the market place! Then again where would the internet be without brain dead moronic trolls to provide a laugh!!

There is nothing technologically speaking preventing you from downloading torrents through iOS. It is a policy decision of Apple's to prevent the distribution of such applications through the App Store as they would be predominantly used for copyright infringement. Personally, I think this is a good policy decision.
Nonetheless, it is still possible to install applications that permit this functionality from outside of the App Store if you should wish it.

I find android restrictive due to their awful apps. IOS is a far more well done ecosystem to get the most out of a tablet. I own 4 droid tablets and two IOS ones btw. Droid ones are good for basic things but IOS for advanced things because nobody puts real effort and money behind an app for the most pirated store ever created.

I have a couple of Nexus 7s for Sonos controllers and as they are in docks they also double up as picture frames when not in use.
Also handy for monitoring our security cameras but I'm very happy with my iPads as main tablets. Plus I have iPhones and Macs so the ecosystem works so well together
There are so many different types of Android tablet with variations of OS's that they don't seem to work well across the board with all apps.
At least an IOS app is guaranteed to work on EVERY IOS device

That a UK sim card? Never had problems (or need) to obviously use one in the UK as almost everywhere has Wifi or 4g which makes having an Iphone more then enough for when out and about. Just never sure when abroad there any risk of having devices locked to the first sim card you use (assuming they work at all)

FreedomPop is a UK sim card so wouldnt benefit when being abroad...if its covered, the Three SIM cards are great with there "all you can eat" data plan for a number of countries. I made a real use of in when in the US a few years ago.

I'm an oldie, too, and I have one of these. The 16 GB is very limiting, particularly as a chunk of that is taken up by the operating system. It would definitely be worth paying more for 32 GB, if the price difference is not too large.

Can't agree with that. I can spend days troubleshooting why some iDevices don't work in enterprise environments for various customers. They certainly don't always 'just' work. Yes, they may be simple to operate but that's a different thing entirely.

I've used Android for a while and I've not had an infection but my dad who isn't as technologically sound had plenty on his Galaxy S2. I've had tons of Androids, recently a Note 4 and LG G3 and I find them poorly optimised, apps perform and look worse than the iOS equivalents.
Apple devices are nowhere near perfect but at least I can rely on them to work. Spent way too much time fiddling/troubleshooting in Android settings. Then there's the bloatware like 'McAfee security' that can't be disabled.
All in all I need both Android and iOS for different uses so I don't think either is better than the other, both just better at different things.

Neither iOS or Android "just works better" than the other. Your statement about not being limited by manufacturer doesn't make sense either. If LG or Samsung decide you should have McAfee security on your phone, you have to have it. Google insist on being able to access your location and other personal info whenever they like and there's nothing you can do about it. Before you mention root and custom roms, remember iOS devices can be jail broken.
I honestly do quite like android, especially vanilla android and the nexus lineup. However, my problem is with many of the Android communities. They call iOS users sheep, yet all of them jump on the 'hate apple' bandwagon.
Finding an Android user who will admit to the advantages of iOS is nigh on impossible.

I said that iOS is great for kids and elderly. I use to use an iPhone 3g and then 4. Great devices and systems. But right now I find androids much better. iOS users on the other hand are very arrogant and think that everything apple makes it made out of gold. The truth is that for the past five years Apple has been copying android features and no one wants to admit it. So even with all your latest updates you are always behind Android.
Apple is much worse than google in many ways.
leelukehope
25 May 161#65
Haha 'just copying android'! Funny that the new nexus devices have a very similar looking fingerprint reader! If I didn't know any better I'd say they blatantly copied the Touch ID design. Siri came out then Google started Google Now. Apple Pay came out, then comes Android Pay. Still playing catchup?
As far as Apple copying Android, They copied the notification centre which was admittedly a great idea. So yes Apple has copied a feature or two, but certainly no more than Android, and especially Samsung have copied from Apple.
Copying others isn't a bad thing, it's means we all have better devices. Everything we've said is just our opinion anyway.
