just saw this on very priced up at £499.99, but if you add office 365 the price drops to £339.99.

I'm after a new laptop, core i5 / newest processor and this seems a good deal.

it's got 12Gb RAM and 2Tb hdd.
(although in the main description it states 6Gb of RAM).

Looking in more depth, the RAM is correct at 12Gb, stated on HP website:

http://www8.hp.com/uk/en/products/laptops/product-detail.html?oid=11083975#!tab=specs

Reading some reviews, it may a little slow and heavy..

what's everyone's thoughts?

***** Someone people have used code 6WTKT for a further 20% off *******

Wish I'd tried this earlier and could've potentially saved people more money but...

I couldn't get any of the codes working and didn't want to start a credit account so did some googling and found

20% off code on the Mirror website

It's about half way down and says

It's also listed on the Very Exclusive homepage.

Gave it a shot anyway and it worked so yeah...got my confirmation email for £275.98 delivered.

Code is 6WTKT if anyone else wants to try....might just be a glitch so we'll see if it's honoured or not. Was umm-ing and ahh-ing over whether to get the laptop or not but at this price it's really a no brainer!

So near... I thought I had found my next laptop, but good specs with a low res screen doesn't work for my needs:
"15.6 inch HD BrightView WLED-backlit (1366 x 768)"

Anyone has seen something similar with FHD (1920 x 1080) by any chance?
moneybag to mickael28

Don't forget to drive a higher resolution panel you need more GPU power, battery life goes down and heat output goes up... For the price FHD at these specs is not very likely.

bought one very similar with i5 +12gb of memory but with 1t hd from hp in the January sale for £399 + £49 for 3 years warrantee, and find it is a great laptop that boots up very quickly about 18 sec compered to my last 3 year old hp laptop, the only problem I find with it is the touch pad which incorporates the left right click at the bottom, I would have preferred them to be separate, but that's a personal thing. I thought it was a great value buy then and still do, and at this price its a steal.

I'm struggling to imagine many people ever being held back to only 100mb duplex on this low end laptop.

How fast is you broadband connection, or if you are constantly transferring files from a NAS what speed are the drives/raid controller capable of? Assuming you'd upgrade this laptop from the 5400 hdd, would it even be capable of processing transfers above 100mb? Can your home router also cope with those transfers?

If this will hold you back, then I would have imagined you'd be after a much higher spec laptop in general?

Hi, I am not sure everybody realises, but Office 365 is a rental product. It normally costs £8 a month or £60 per year. The £340 price is only when you get Office 365. I hope the "Integrated 10/100 BASE-T Ethernet LAN" is a typo. Anything less than gigabit LAN is unacceptable these days. I understand most people won't bother connecting this to a home network via physical cable, but for those of us who do, 100Mbit just won't cut it. Other than that, tremendous deal!

I hope your right, I don't like risking it. I just used very.co.uk's online webchat and they could not give a decent answer. This is part of the chat. ME: I know. This is for the cheaper price. My question is what kind of subscription is there for Office 365. This is a rental product. Normally it costs £8 per month or £60 per year to pay for Office 365. There is no info on the website about what you have to sign up to. Reply: You will have to contact microsoft office as we do not have those details on our side. ME: You sell most of your laptops with Office 365 as an option. Do you know if you have to use it, or if you there is a definite subscription if you buy it? Reply: I am not sure Andrew that is why I say contact microsoft directly and see what they say we are not trained no anything on microsoft and product on the site.

I would have bought this for sure if there was definately no subscription. Adviser did not know what they are selling. Hopefully there is no forced subscription for the people buying.

In addition to messing up with the code, on live chat they now tell me that even though the order is listed as processing and has a delivery date, it is in actual fact 'declined'. They say that all new accounts need to go through a verification process first and that I'll have to reorder later. I've received no emails or anything about this, but they say that typically they arrive 4 hours after an order is placed. It all sounds quite unusual. I wonder if anyone else will experience this stumbling block.

I opened up a line of credit with them in order to use the code that had that as a requirement. I as approved for the credit though perhaps some kind of labyrinthian verification process that needs to be carried out. It's still listed as 'processing' in my online area and has a delivery date, but the live chat person is adamant that it will never materialise and that since this is my first order the account is 'under review' and I need to call the to get 'verified'. The whole thing sounds mad.. but relates to the fact that i just now opened up a credit line with them.

Was the extra 20% cashback on littlewoods valid with any other codes (such as 10% first use offer code)? Also how can you verify the cashback after the order without phoning them ?
ihaveaquestion
30 May 16 #142
Not only are new accounts 'under review' and need to be 'verified' if you attempt to take out a credit plan (meaning that your order might have been declined even though it doesn't say so in your order area) BUT if then then try to pay the whole amount by credit or debit card, that too won't go through since your account is essentially on hold, despite it looking like orers have done through Therefore i recommended where possible to pay in full first off and avoid the credit option. hat a lot of messing about.

Having once bought my kid a hard to find Ben 10 figure for £3.75 from Very 2 years ago, my account was set up and ready to go. My order for the laptop at £275 including 20% off code has just sailed through, paid off on credit card in full. No problem. I agree - I wasn't trying to knock this post, it's a great price, I was genuinely just trying to establish which is the better machine. I'm also curious as to the build quality differences between the ProBook and Pavilion. Anyone have any experience here?

I've placed an order for the eBuyer one but if the general consensus is that this machine is definitely better, I might shift over (despite my dislike of Very).

Of course they hold stock but not 500 plus units that have been bought so far off of this thread.

Latest tracking information

30 May, 2016 17:18:14 Order being processed at supplier
30 May, 2016 17:03:46 Order received by our supplier

So it looks as though it goes through to the supplier for despatch. I think it's more likely they'll cancel the orders they can - particularly with the 20% off code I found as it doesn't appear to be for use on the normal Very site.

Hey ho, we'll see what tomorrow brings I suppose!

ihaveaquestion
31 May 16 #272
Despite telling me that the order was declined due to needing to 'verify my account' it appears to have gone through anyway. The problem I'm left with is that due to confusion on my side I didn't add the 20% off code myself -instead a 'note was added' about '20% off' to my account at the time of purchase. They are currently refusing to give me the discount as they say the code only works on the veryexclusive.co.uk site . I have demonstrated that I can add an item to my basket and apply the code and that it DOES work so please apply it, but they say that the code doesn't work on very.co.uk and I'm mistaken (which is annoying to be told when i know that it does work). So it appears that not only was the price of this laptop possibly an error but it all likelihood the 20% off code shouldn't work either!!

arsenal79place
31 May 16 #273
how did you pay?
ihaveaquestion
31 May 16 #275
That's the thing, my error that didn't help matters. I tried to use the CPXM7 20% off code via credit on the very.co.uk account but it wouldn't apply. I was told over live chat 'oh it's fine and an error with the system we'll add a note' but of course that code isn't valid for laptops as it turns out.

The code that does work actually works via direct payment or credit from what I can see, so it was a mess up on my part when making the order. I didn't reorder (and now it's out of stock) as they told me on live chat that my first order had been declined/cancelled anyway due to account needing to be verified. They told me if I ordered again that would be cancelled too and that i'd have to place the orders post verification. None of that wound up being true (as I stated to them when I informed them that it was still listed as processing, not declined) as the laptop is now on its way to me via royal mail. It just looks like I'm out of luck with the 20% off. It's my fault, though their live chat service was nightmarish and did give me and continues to give me with complete confidence on their part lots of information that is simply not true.

ihaveaquestion
31 May 16 #278
I should've done this, but there was a code that offered 20% off for the first credit order and I made the mistake of thinking I needed credit. My fault as that code wasn't valid anyway. The code that works on veryexclusive and very.co.uk works for credit and card orders and seemingly any type of item. I could use it now to order but the item is OOS. They are refusing to add it to my existing order retrospectively because they say that the code definitely doesn't work, when of course we all know that it does. My fault for rushing to make the order. Lesson learned.

Scott, what time did you order? And under your recent transactions on the very.co.uk website account section does it say "Pavilion 15 -Ab504na Intel Core Silver £271.99 - Direct From Manufacturer" or "Pavilion 15 -Ab504na Intel Core Silver £271.99" without the "Direct from Manufacturer" part? I think is where things might get tricky for some because I made two purchases, one with the 20% off (today 6am) and one before I had that code (yesterday 1pm) with the first not having the "Direct from Manufacturer" caveat whereas the one I bought afterwards had it in the Transaction History section.

Trying to retroactively get them to do 20% off using 6WTKT and its the Indian call centres
but Very is giving me runaround.
1. Have to register for credit using another email addr and order it again.
2. You don't have the credit line open therefore...
3. Its only for Very Exclusive items.
4. Your item is suspended until you speak to Section xyz and they are not working today and you need their approval.
5. You paid in full so you can't use code.
6. Your purchase is actually not on hold for approval but will be shipped...

I actually used PayPal, maybe I should get PP involved to get code sorted.
Anyone used PP and used code and it went through?
I don't know for 20% whether I am coming or going.

I can understand your frustration but Paypal have nothing to do with the code. You can't get Paypal to lower the cost for goods you have paid for, that would be ridiculous.

Looks like orders are being fulfilled anyway so count yourself lucky.

PS: In my experience Very call centres seem to be located in South Africa going by the accents.

Nice. Under your transaction history on your very account does the item show "from distributor"?
ihaveaquestion
31 May 16 #311
I'm in what is almost the exact same situation but only because live chat initially offered to manually add a code 'as a note' to the order that isn't even valid for the item so won't be honoured. The code you posted (and one I should've used) does not even require you to get out a line of credit as it also works with credit and debit card payments. My issue is that they say that can't add it their side (they claim to have tried) because it's not a valid code on very.co.uk , only veryexclusive.co.uk .. then they say it's not for electronics etc. It clearly works on very.co.uk though.

They asked me to email proof that I can use it, so I sent a screen cap of me using the code with another laptop in my basket. I don't know if they will give a sensible reply though. If my previous interactions are anything to go with I doubt it.

I could've actually ordered a second laptop at the time using the code as I soon realised my mistake and not accepted the first laptop when delivered (the order was listed as processing, and hadn't been processed so the code actually still worked for me). They however told me not to do that as my first order had been declined anyway (it hadn't by the way) on account that my account was new and being verified and the second would would be too. They told me that I'd need to reorder the first item upon verification due to this (they were wrong). I've never had such a terrible experience with customer support in my life with some live chat people being down right rude, and all making claims that turned out to be totally incorrect at every turn.

31 May 16 #312
You have 2 choices.

1) Cancel the item.
2) Take it for £340.

Paypal, bank, cc company can not force Very/Littlewoods to add discounts to any transaction. If they are refusing to apply it for your order then there ain't anything you can do. You can try & escalate it to their complaint process but that's unlikely to get anywhere as they'll simply say the code itself was an error & not meant to be used on their site/particular item etc.

You're likely right, though the code 'still' works, so if it's an error it's not one they seem all that eager to do anything about. Also from the moment ordered it was not possible to cancel this item. Therefore is effectively the way to cancel to simply refuse to sign for the item?
esensitive
31 May 16 #320
I am in almost similar situation. Cant get the rude Indian call centre agents to apply the 20% discount code. I think they are simply there to say that sorry we are unable to do that. Irrespective whatever you say, they are not there to help you. I used the £30 discount code and paid today via my bank card, I wasnt aware then about 20% code. The lady on chat was saying that they cant apply code on their side and that you can reorder it and apply the code again. Obviously the item in question isnt available anymore.I may try tomorrow again.
Please if you guys get any success do share it here.
ihaveaquestion
31 May 16 #321
For clarity, which code is / was the £30 off code?
esensitive
31 May 16 #322
6TFEF...£30 off first order......But almost all codes are invalid on first attempt. I had to re enter the code within seconds and it then get accepted. TCB also tracked £21. I dont know to go with it or return it.
ihaveaquestion
31 May 16 #323
Same. They manually put a note about the 20% off note with my order, but it's the wrong code. The code that works (still) they refuse to acknowledge is valid for the site. So I would be paying the full £340. It's still cheap, but I've spent so long with them trying to get the to sort this discount and was effectively told not to reorder at the same when i could've used the right code, that it's annoyed me. It's still fairly cheap at £340 I'd say, but I don't know if I'll accept it.
Bergy10
31 May 16 #324
You were unable to cancel the item because they were yet to process the security checks. The problem is the period that they were under processing where nothing was happening. After being given a tracking link you are then able to cancel.
boostii
31 May 16 2 #325
I found this deal very simple to purchase online, not sure how so many have over complicated it. When I know it is a misprice and an illegal voucher code, I'm just hoping it slips under the radar, the last thing I want is to be talking to a real human with the power to cancel the order.

Personally if you ordered it and you don't want it, please sign for it and follow the proper returns process. If you don't sign and it ends up in a dusty corner of a UPS warehouse somewhere, well they have already got your money and you have a whole lot of explaining to do to the Indians again. Much better to have an official return note and posting barcode if anything goes wrong.
esensitive
31 May 16 #326
If I was in your place I would have ordered again with the 20% off code. You could have later cancelled the first order. I wasnt simply aware of the 20% code and when found out, it was already out of stock. But you were completely misled by the Indians:). Even at £314 I am thinking of cancelling the order, even if the TCB £21 is paid to my account. But yI can understand its a bargain even at £340 as tesco selling it for £599. I ll attempt tomorrow. lets see what happens
ihaveaquestion
31 May 16 #327
The message I received when clicked the cancel link a little while after ordering stated that certain items cannot be cancelled and that I had the option to refuse to sign for the item on the doorstep.
ihaveaquestion
31 May 16 #328
I did think of using the code to make a second order, but I wasn't sure where I stood in terms of the orders. They specifically told me not to order again as they said that even my first order had been 'declined' (it hadn't though) due to my account needing to be 'verified' and that I'd have to reorder the first item again later anyway. I had visions of getting caught in some kind of loop of ordering multiple laptops, not every knowing how many if any would ever show up .

It's my own fault for trying to use the wrong code then trusting them when they said it was a fault with the system and would be added anyway. Now I'm stuck in a stupid situation where I was told not to apply the code I should've and could've used as it's not valid.
salam999
31 May 16 1 #329
All these calls to very to get even more of a discount, surely it's not helping the people who ordered without any issues online as very might cancel everyone's order, still a cheap deal at 340
Bergy10
31 May 16 #330
Yes I know, while on your "my orders" page if it says processing then you are being security checked and as such can not cancel it. If however the tracking link was there on your "my orders" page then clicking cancel would first go say the same "can not cancel" crap and then the order would then change to "cancellation requested" and then change to "cancelled". This despite receiving that message.
ihaveaquestion
31 May 16 #331
Just to clarify then, if I sign for the item, I can then return it (as long as I don't connect/us the use? Only the advice when I tried to cancel on the site was to not sign for it. I'm sure whichever option I choose will end up being the wrong one anyway, so maybe I should spin a wheel .
ihaveaquestion
31 May 16 #332
I can't see why they would cancel any orders at this stage unless they were going to anyway, or don't have enough stock. I'm not trying to get 'more' of anything, just trying to apply a code which 'still' works on the site for comparable items .
chrisredmayne
31 May 16 #333
crazily that code is still working... very strange as there's loads more bargains to be had! thing is they usually use dpd for post, so this laptop must be a different process? where they have passed on the order to somewhere else or something and royal mail are delivering, which may be why it's not getting flagged? not sure, but mine hasn't changed status yet so who knows what will happen with it!

I deleted the post because I realised they hadn't refunded one of them so I may still get that one.

It just confused me because they put the refund of the delivery charge through separately, thus creating two different refunds, one for the computer, the other for the delivery charge. It made me think they'd refunded both orders.

The first order was placed at around 15:30 on the 30th, the second yesterday and was awaiting stock. It was the second order that was refunded.

Security checks?
Bergy10
1 Jun 16 #343
You managed to make a purchase while it was out of stock? By security checks I meant the call they give you to verify your information if you are a first time customer. If they don't get through to you it results in your order being stuck in the processing stage with no tracking link.

Lots of peoples orders are like this. It could be due to the overwhelming number of orders, or possibly just because it takes a while for tracking codes to start working. It isn't coming from Very. If you look at the order details, it says "passed to supplier" so it is coming direct from HP. It says that the tracking may not show up until late in the evening after receipt by Royal Mail.
Mine is showing the same, and has been for 2 days, but it has always said delivery on 2nd June.

I share your stance on it. Of course I could be wrong, but to me it looks it will turn up even if it's a day or so later than expected
boostii
1 Jun 16 1 #400
If you need a laptop and this is the right sort of spec for you, then it doesn't matter if it cost £275 or £340 it is still a great deal.

If you don't need a laptop or you just browse a bit of internet and write a few letters then even at £275 this is expensive.

I don't understand the mentality of returning it because of having applied the wrong voucher code.

This is a £600 laptop. If you need a £600 laptop it is a good deal at whatever code was applied. If you don't need a £600 laptop, then why not save yourself the full £600 by not buying it.

ihaveaquestion
1 Jun 16 #402
I think it's an individual thing. I very much doubt everyone here 'needs' this item, and as such there is likely a price they are happy to own it at and a price they are not. Thankfully as stated in my other post, those who didn't get the 20% code added can still get £30 off via live chat with a different code, so it makes sense for them to do that if they want to save a bit more. I very much agree with you though this this is a very good deal at both prices.

Nope. Still showing as processed but not despatched, despite my listed date of delivery being 1st June.

I phoned Very at 7pm last night to find out what was going on, but the lady said she had no idea and that the delivery company was closed so she couldn't check. She told me to call again today.

Uh oh, on the track parcel page on the very my account it no longer shows the tracking link. I still have the royal mail tracking numbers that are still showing "Special Delivery Guaranteed™ items are first tracked when they have reached our mail centre. This may be late in the evening on the day the item was sent." However the link to the royal mail tracker isn't available anymore on the very website.

Well it didn't arrive. Tracking link also disappeared from my account, was told by online chat that they will treat it as a missing item now and will be in touch when they have news....which is up to a week! The agent last night gave me the couriers number which I just called....it was yodel and they have nothing under my details...plus reference numbers don't start with AF for Yodel. The agent obviously fobbed me off with any courier number they knew!

What a complete an utter shambles. Dunno about you but Very have also lied through their teeth to me on four occasions now so I'd be suspicious of anything they tell you.

My experience has convinced me that Very don't want to fulfil these orders but for some reason they're having to wait until they're able to fully cancel them. Maybe I'm wrong I dunno but it seems like that given the constant misinformation they're giving. It must be something to do with HP, as in Very don't have complete control and that's why a couple of orders have slipped through.

Lastly the link to the tracking number may not be there but if you look at your browser history the tracking number still works as it did.

I just chatted online too.

I was due to receive the laptop yesterday, but like almost everyone else it is showing as processed not despatched, and my tracking number has disappeared.

The lady I chatted with said that "Upon checking your account I can see that the order is being delayed by the supplier. I would have send this to our trace team to investigate what has happened to your order. You would have to allow 3 - 5 days to get information from this team."

I asked if I could be refunded the £3.99 delivery charge due to the inconvenience, and she said yes.

I guess now I just wait and see.

Makes me laugh some of the comments on here. If you get the deal happy days if you don't tough move on. They can cancel due to pricing error. Keep phoning them up and live chat does not achieve much just interferes with Very's every day business.
definition
2 Jun 16 #467
You don't seem to understand the problem. If they cancel the order, fine, happy to move on. But they're not doing that, they're winding people up with misinformation.
Nard
2 Jun 16 #468
Supposed to arrive today, I doubt that will happen.
The email I have says that "if you haven't already received it, it will arrive in the next few days" and has "track my parcel" clickable link (which doesn't work at the mo). I ordered on the 29th. I'm not bothered when it arrives, as long as it does actually arrive...
IMO, Very should have informed people before now if they were going to cancel orders. I don't see how they have any other option than to supply these at this price...
rapidracer10
2 Jun 16 1 #469
Exactly, given how many orders came through, they cant instantly process say 500-600 orders. Sureley it takes time, and phoning and so on may slow things down, regardless of whether they are granting or cancelling orders.

2 Jun 16 #470
They're a shambles. They can't even change the delivery date on the order page when they know full well that most orders will not be sent out today. It's their incompetence that's the problem, not the fact people have placed the orders.

They should have sent a clear message to their customer service team as to whether they were going to honour these orders or not but it's clear they haven't, all you get is conflicting information (and sometimes outright lying) if you contact customer services.

I understand what you guys are saying about patience and the volume of orders. All I want to know is when I'm going to have the stay in the house for my delivery. It's really annoying. I changed my work day off to wait for this delivery today because it said it was checked yesterday and said it would still be here today.

They need to give more accurate delivery dates even if it's in two weeks time. I don't mind. Also the bloke who posted that he received his actually ordered his a full 24 hours after me. Why isn't it first ordered first served. It's really frustrating.

fubob11
2 Jun 16 #480
Unlikely from reading what others have written, the other problem is that the discount code is only meant to work on the "very exclusive" range and people are suggesting that based on their T&Cs, they will retrospectively charge the discount back when they find out the error which is also quite discouraging.

Live chat just now: "I do see your orders were both suppose to be delivered to you yesterday. However the reason why they have not been delivered to you as yet is due to the fact that there was a delay with the delivery. However I am pleased to let you know your order will be delivered to you within the next 48 hours if not sooner." Which I suspect is BS. Got delivery charges refunded though.
fubob11
2 Jun 16 #489
i thought i'd seem unreal for them to charge you afterwards, but apparently they do have this right to charge you in their terms and conditions, whether they tell you before they dispatch or give you a chance to cancel is something i'm more worried about as i paid by direct debit rather than paypal, which would have stopped them from clawing the money back.

Honestly, being that the customer service was the worst I've experienced (not the people themselves, just the information the system had available to them, the lack of structure in place, haphazard nature of everything etc), I'll write this off as dodging a bullet and stay well away from Very in future.

I've been a customer of Very for 6/7 years but I'm definitely getting rid. Why did the system allow customers to continue ordering and ordering if they don't have the stock? I'm bewildered. Quite simple. I realised that there was a good chance the order wouldn't be fulfilled but I didn't expect it to take 3 days for Littlewoods to act. I ordered the laptop for my son and as time went on confidence grew that the laptop was coming, especially as others on HUKD had apparently received theirs. I now have a very disappointed son. Incompetence should be challenged, and Littlewoods have been incompetent.

complete and utter rubbish service. Spent most of day on calls to very unhelpful staff asking where is order as not here- If I was not being cut off I was being patronised. Two managers later to be told the call handler was new!!! I have finally cancel the order for lap top. I am disgusted that they took an order gave me delivery date but they could not complete this and could not iform me there was a problem. I had to call them as they are send e mail but not to me and they have the correct address. I will not be use "Very " again as poor service - cannot meet orders. Try cancel that part is fun- that is when you get cut off! You think that's bad. When I rang them today they picked up the phone and didn't say anything, it was like a cold call. I sat there saying hello, hello for about a minute then hung up.

Called again two minutes later and the same thing happend , only this time I had a right go at them and they started laughing in the background and eventually hung up.

I rang again but withheld my number and got through to someone who actually answered. It was utterly bizzare. It's tempting to explained it away as some fault on the phone but for it to happen twice in a row is really odd.

I actually feel quite sorry for the customer service personnel , they've been on the receiving end of all this because of incompetance of the management. Makes you wonder bow high up the chain this one went.

The 15 quid code probablu only means a couple of grand loss to Shop Direct, which is a tiny drop in the ocean compared to the money they make or a lot I imagine compared to how much they pay their Customer Service Advisers who appear to be based in South Africa.

The conclusion being that the company is out of stock, no laptop will be issued. I was given £20 as a gesture of good will, a full refund to the card and a full investigation into the various calls of misleading and false information given which will hopefully give a better result.

If they insist on repairing, allow them to, chances are it'll go wrong again. In which case the CRA post-October 2015 states you're allowed to reject a second repair within 6 months. From my experience if it was faulty from the start, it'll be faulty in future.

I think it's a blessing in disguise to be honest that we didn't get our laptop. Can you imagine dealing with Very if there were any faults.

Refund received today, thank god it's all over now. Certainly won't be touching Very ever again.

Refund gone through back to acct for the ones I requested. Refund via Paypal quick but creditcard company took until now.
Received an email today from Very reconfirming they had applied code and my purchases went through.
Sigh.

OK got a result. Can I trust it?

I can have the laptop at the price originally paid provided I pay full price and fill in a form for very to pay the difference back as they cannot automatically ajust the price before selling it.

Is it worth going for it?

I was offered the same thing, but refused to pay full price...wouldn't trust Very as far as I could throw them!....then to be told it was out of stock at full price anyhow.

I'm due a callback from a manager (supposed to have been Monday/Tuesday) but now told its tomorrow. This was offered by a customer service agent. I might get further but I'm not holding my breath.

If I take his offer what's the returns policy like? I wouldn't open it until the partial monies were refunded to me
Luvmyboys
8 Jun 16 #687
I'm not sure about the returns policy. I was told once I had received the item and I was happy with it, then they would send me a form for a refund. Then he said the laptop was out of stock anyhow. Not heard good things about Very, but good luck!

Just received this from Very:
Unfortunately I cannot offer the HP Star Wars Special Edition Pavilion 15-an000na for £309.99.
The best alternative I can offer you is Acer Aspire E5-573 Intel® Core? i5 Processor, 4Gb RAM, 1Tb Hard Drive, 15.6 inch Laptop with Optional Microsoft Office 365 - Blue (K7AJ7) which is priced at £399.00.
I am sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.

And Finally...

A week after a promise of a callback from a Manager without reply I had had enough. I rang and finally spoke to a manager in South Africa. Basically he informed me that the I have been misadvised all week and that there is no way the laptop could be offered at £271.99. Tough luck and the only route to go down would be an official written complaints procedure. Where would I start??

Honestly my perception of Very is clueless staff, either quick to cut calls or mislead you into thinking you are getting something when your not! Poor service through and through.

What have I got from hours of wasted time? £20 and a sorry cancellation email. What a joke.

Talking of voting in or out... Its definitely out from using this company again!!

What trouble have people been having with Very?

I ordered this deal, used the code and got the 15 inch Pavilion for £276. Sold it to a friend of a friend for £400. I also ordered the Lenovo from a later deal with the code for £325 and sold it at cost to a friend.

These were my first 2 experiences ordering from Very and I had no problem.

Deals like this don't crop up very often?
