Finally took delivery of my 58KEC730 yesterday! Paid £499 from ao after trade in of an old 21" tv and discount code.
Initial impressions are excellent, coming from a two year old 50" Samsung. Uniform blacks, no light bleed or glows that i can see anyway and Sky HD looks great. Netflix 4k is excellent.
Need to test more stuff to fully appreciate it but certainly mega impressed so far...

Had mine delivered yesterday, opened today and gone to set up and got all these lines.. Take it its damaged ??
you can return any product with a full refund within 14 days. If within 14 days you are covered by the distance selling act. so yes AO are breaking the law
Benjimoron
13 May 16#38
What law is that? The DSR?
qwerta369
13 May 16#37
Once again, AO appear to handle returns of faulty goods correctly. Their ignorance of the law relates to the return of non-faulty goods within 14 days of delivery.

I had the exact same issue. Frequently like a cracking or clicking noise. Returned it for a replacement and no noise whatsoever.
I too bought from AO.com and can only say they have been excellent so far every time I have used them

Can anyone tell me what the viewing angle is like on this model?
I've got the K321 50" and the colours faded quite a lot if you weren't sitting in the dead centre of the screen.

It only outputs Full HD so you obviously would not see the problem then.I bought a Hisense 50" 321 back in December and returned it because it has to much motion judder as well as screen bleed but apart from that it was good for the price.

The law says you have the right to inspect the goods in your home for up to 14 days from receipt and return them for a full refund without having to give any reason. This is especially useful for products such as TVs, which can vary greatly in quality and there are countless examples, on this website alone, of people buying a TV only to be very dissatisfied with it's quality upon inspection. It's illegal for merchants to charge a re-stocking for such cancellations.
Not quite sure you understand what's being discussed..

Ao are ace you can't blame a company for charging and making a loss on a product you return that has been used with 14 days because you change your mind. You can't walk into asda buy a sandwich and say hey I don't like the taste can I have a full refund if that sandwich was out of date chicken I would expect a full refund ie faulty item if proven with a eng visit I would except a full refund.
qwerta369
12 May 16#31
AO are fine until you try and return a non-faulty item within 14 days.

Those are speakers on the back of the TV, not fans.
I've just taken delivery of the 65" version of this a few days ago (from AO, no problems there either) and I'm very happy indeed so far, no creaks or any strange noises so far.
Picture quality on freview HD is fantastic (SD not so hot but what do you expect) HD and UHD content played via an external Kodi box/NAS is great and the in built speakers offer the best sound I've had from a TV in a long time.

12 May 16#29
Anyone notice fan noise with the sound on mute? Pictures show a number of fans on the rear... Also, does everyone's set make the creaking noise when warming up?

12 May 16#28
Hasn't the law changed?
I've been pretty impressed with AO the few times I've used them.

Got mine from AO after the last deal posting for this set. Can't complain the delivery was next day super quick after ordering early evening.
The TV is spot on for the money, very pleased with it.

I'm not worried about being dissatisfied, I know this is what I want. I'm more worried about the tv being faulty or arriving damaged and having to deal with their customer service.
qwerta369
12 May 16#24
Then you have to make a decision. Be mindful though, that if, after you've received it and inspected it, you decide you are dissatisfied with the item and wish to cancel the purchase within 14 days of receipt (as the law says you can), AO.com will illegally withhold 45% of your refund.

TV is rock solid on the legs. I was not sure when I saw the images, but they look okay and certainly support the TV. Also has a satellite receiver built in. Sky remote works also.

Can anyone who has this TV comment on the USB media playback facility? I have a USB disk with lots of stuff for the kids to watch in all sort of formats. Does it pay everything? How easy is it to use? Does is play x265 content via USB too?

I have this TV. Downloaded 30 minutes of 4K footage from YouTube and installed it to a portable USB hard drive, and it was wonderful. The images were fantastic. I also downloaded a shorter tour of London 4K clip and installed it to a 4GB USB pen drive, and it also worked fine. Only problem after watching 4K content is everything else looks pretty poor.

I have this TV and can't recommend it highly enough for the price!
Blacks are excellent compared to my other two TV's (Older generation Samsung and LG models) 4K netflix built in, surprisingly good sound too.
It takes a little tweaking to get the picture just right and some have had lip sync issues, although an update to the latest firmware and removal of some of the picture optimisation fixed this for me.
If you read the entire AVForums thread the majority of owners are very happy, there have been a couple of very outspoken users recently, suggesting their models are not so well supported outside the UK. Comment suggests that another firmware update is imminent which should upgrade the inbuilt Youtube app to 4K and potentially add Amazon instant Video among other things.

Be very careful buying from AO.com. They withhold 45% as a restocking fee if you are dissatisfied and send it back within 14 days. I'd never shop at this firm, for this reason.

Ouch... How long did you have it? If under 7 days DSR regs may assist.
*If you've used the product
We're happy for you to unpack the item and inspect it properly, however, if you've used or installed it, we will only make a partial refund to cover the loss in value of the product. Please note, this could be up to 50% of the price of the item. Your refund will be made within 14 days of collection.

Frankly any firm which charges return postage or a restocking free never gets my business anymore, there are plenty of other people who sell electricals who I can by from and I would rather pay a bit more upfront than have the worry of dealing with any potential after sales trouble.

I have a Mad Catz M.O.J.O. attached. Haven't really noticed any issue but maybe I'm less fussy than some. Upscaled Freeview HD is incredibly good.

What 4k device do you have connected to it? Fire TV? Also, how do you find the black balance on a completely dark screen/scene? I have not yet bit the bullet on this one personally...

Many people talking about it on avforums.
It's only with 4k content, through an external HDMI device. (I.e. the 1080p would be fine, only issues when playing 4k)
