Still very happy with the TV here and the latest firmware brought HDR with it as promised, which makes a real difference :innocent: Just need more content!
I've also upgraded my Xbox, so can enjoy all the 4k goodness more often. I use that for all the apps like Netflix, iPlayer, etc though, so can't comment on the inbuilt versions.

It's been quiet in here... After living with this TV for a few months, have things changed for others? Has anyone got an updated opinion of their purchase?
Did the new firmware (901) improve Iplayer or hdr or anything else?
Has the TV bedded in and picture quality improved?
Thanks

Just to confirm I will not be getting 9% cash back for this set from Argos, as Quidco deny this deal ever existed. Accordingly the op should amend his description and the a.o. deal therefore looks much better.

When buying on line you have added protection:Online, mail and phone order sales
Online, mail and telephone order customers have the right to cancel their order for a limited time even if the goods aren’t faulty. Sales of this kind are known as ‘distance selling’.
You must offer a refund to customers if they’ve told you within 14 days of receiving their goods that they want to cancel. They have another 14 days to return the goods once they’ve told you.
You must refund the customer within 14 days of receiving the goods back. They don’t have to provide a reason.

Is that if you collect in store because I've sent two TVs back no probs when ordering online.
afly
27 May 16#104
If you are returning it when there is nothing wrong with it they can feasibly refuse. If that is the game they fancy playing take a hammer to it and say it was like that when you got it home. A whiff of fraud, but a nice demonstration of bad customer service costing the company more than good would of done.
EDIT to add: also my understanding is that if you bought this online to be delivered you can return anything for any reason under distance selling regs

Received mine last night, to replace my 7 year old Panny plasma 42". I have mixed feelings.
It's certainly big, very slim bezel. The UX is simple, but nice. Full HD in Amazon is sharp, can't check out Ultra 4k as my BB is lousy here in the country. I really like the casting from iPhone Youtube to the big screen, makes it a joy to use. there's a simple PVR in there as well for DTV.
But...
Maybe I'm just not used to LCD TVs, or thought that they had got better over the years. It just looks washed out, there are no real blacks, only greys. And it feels as though there is some kind of diffusing film over the screen Viewing angles aren't great too. And the light bleed from the sides is quite visible.
It is also VERY bright, that may be a good thing for daytime, but I found it hard to adjust for nighttime viewing. With at screen this size every time an advert comes on with a white background (especially after a dark scene) you feel blinded. And that's on the dark cinema setting. So more to play with there.
Whilst the OSD is nice and all, it does feel sluggish if you're used to Amazon Fire etc. It does the job though, just feels like a step backwards.
I will decide in the next few days as to whether it stays. Perhaps I am expecting too much as a lot of the above criticisms are inherent in LCD technology. Still can't help feeling a bit disappointed.
OLEDs at this size are more than twice the price so it needs to put it in perspective.
Just my 2c, hope this helps.

Just picked this up. To be honest I don't have much to compare to as I move alot for work so hadn't had a large TV for sometime, but to me it looks great both for Netflix/amazon and for gaming; Overwatch looked fantastic. Well worth the price tag IMO. Let's see if it holds up!

I've been searching for weeks for a decent TV since my Toshiba went belly up.
I've got to the point there's always somethig wrong with the TV's I've been wanting and got put off so I've decided just to go for a low priced 4K model and get on with my life. I need it only really as a monitor as i use a PC and run everything through that.
So my main concerns are...
Can it do 4K 60Hz 4:4:4, and any idea of input lag score? I can't find much info anywhere.

fishmaster
26 May 16#84
4K is a stop gap until we get 8K. 4K was never the real deal, 8K is where things need to be at.
You'll see 8K and above on smartphones before you see in on a big TV at home, the reason is VR, if VR really takes off so will smartphones with 8K screens.

Mine arrived last night and is now looking very nice on the wall!
Had an initial issue with screen tearing/dropping when first connected the Xbox up which had me worried... Changed the hdmi cable though and it's been fine since. Just strange as I was using that cable on my old TV with no problems at all!
Not had a chance to play around with the picture settings yet, but it looks very good out of the box to be fair. 4k videos obviously steal the show, but it upscales nicely too for everything else. Sound is exactly what you would expect; pretty awful, but hook it up to a soundbar/some speakers and problem solved. Not used any of the smart features as they're all available on the Xbox, but it connected to the network fine.
Overall, first impressions are very good and I think this set will last us for many years to come!

There's a terrible review of this on richer sounds. I have looked at so many 4k tv's and have never been convinced enough to get one. Even Samsung sets upwards of £700 have issues like light bleed, spotting etc. With minimal 4k content out there I'm still waiting for a set with very few flaws, for now each manufacturer has a variety of different issues. This is cheap but will have guaranteed problems for everyone other than the casual.

I'd say keep the feet far apart as possible... Especially if your stand is quite big... By the sounds of things also, since your footprint size is 90 odd centre metres I'd say there's nothing for you to worry about as it is said that the bigger the footprint the bigger the stand... So your stand must be big enough.

It probably says no under hdr on most sites as it's hdr local playback using usb and the native media player instead of through the 3rd party apps such as Netflix and Amazon etc. Surely if it has hdr in any form though, it's just a matter of a firmware update to bring it to the rest of the tv. Could be waiting some time for an update though if it's anything like the K700, K720 and XT910 ranges where it's been months since the last proper update and the release date keeps slipping further and further back.

I know people have mixed opinions on them, but that looks like a bargain to me... :man:

Also spotted on that site that they have the 65" 4K Hisense for £1K http://ao.com/product/he65k5510uwts-hisense-tv-black-41636-108.aspx
The 1 5* review claims it's a decent tv too.
Seriously !

You'll see 8K and above on smartphones before you see in on a big TV at home, the reason is VR, if VR really takes off so will smartphones with 8K screens.
Now my worry is will the box fit in a Ford Focus!!!!
Now where is my drill.....
And it can't of been on show if there was "stutter" lol

No way was it 5m though, 3m probably. Hopefully a very cheap replacement will do as it didn't seem proprietary
EDIT: it goes into the side of the TV so you dont need the angled version. The regular is fine

Picture wise, only way I've been able to get 4k streams is via the amazon prime app for their key shows (looks decent) and by plugging my mbp directy into the tv and playing a youtube uhd vid (looks OUTSTANDING)
cryptically
"M3300 UHD smart TV offers the best of high definition entertainment. It can upscale FHD images to near UHD and decode HDR movies from external device."
Seen a few owners say it does too. Other than that I couldn't find any confirmation elsewhere
Hence why i asked a member that had already wall mounted it. Please read before jumping to conclusions.
I don't normally venture outside of my known sony/samsung/lg circles but I've seen decent feedback from the community here so happy to take a punt
2 year warranty is ample, so yes save around £100 with cash back and Argos voucher
Yeah it's the same model, so you have to factor in how much the Warranty is worth to you I guess... It comes with a 2 year Hisense guarantee and when you take off the cashback + Voucher you're effectively paying over £100 for those extra 4 years.
