You should have purchased the 65" HS if you have spent that much on a Panasonic, as for
the well known in china for a low end product, you might be pretty shocked to find out who
produced the components for some hisense models...

Having spent an absolute age/shed load of £ in a mega store, so much so, that the manager came over
with a cup of tea and some hobknobs for us, on 2 visits.. I am very happy to say, that there was not one
single TV in the 55-65" sub grand price range, that after extensive testing, messing around with, setting
calibrations, 720/1080i/1080p/4k/Ultra4K, Sky HD media testing and watching a 4K blu-ray on each one..

Nothing [other than the Sony 55!] even came close to being as good/clear/contrasty/bright and easy
to watch as the Hisense 65" we got in the hukd thread.. and as mentioned, cannot wait to upgrade
and get either the new oled 65/75 or the new UHDR 65/75 model ;-)

Everyone is different and everyone wants a TV for different reasons.. but that is just my 2c worth!

Does anyone have any idea when the Hisense H8 series (50H8C & 55H8C) will be released in the UK? There is very little info on the internet & these are the models I'm holding out for.

I decided to go for this TV as I really needed one due to other TV breaking

I'm not sure how I feel about it, I've noticed a lot of lag on Netflix 4K, and playing Uncharted 4, it doesn't look very good and it feel very choppy and laggy, despite the game running very smooth on my older Sharp TV.

Hmm...

Nonsense, SD looks fine on my plasma, looked great on CRT too. It's modern TVs that make SD look terrible. :-) I'd love to see more HD channels too though SD will be here for a while yet.

Ok for those interested, the TV is up, wall mounted on a cantilever bracket, the picture is awesome on Netflix 4k and superb on HD channels, I'm no AV geek or expert, just a family man who wanted a decent ATV for us all.
Not had a chance to try all feature but the switch between inputs is slick and it works well withy humax box.

Well worth every penny IMO

I just picked up the 50EC591U from Argos on Sunday for 379. Is there much difference between the two models? As it's still in the box I'm not sure if it's worth returning it to Argos and going for this one instead?? Thanks

This set is HDMI 2.0 and HDR requires HDMI 2.0A. Sets with 2.0A cost at least £1000. Theoretically this could be upgraded via firmware but I've yet to see a case of this.

The built in Youtube, Netflix & Amazon apps work in 4k brilliantly (which is more than you can say with some of last year's high end TVs costing many times more). HDR demo's on YouTube look amazing. There is a kind of appstore but I wouldn't use this as I have a Microserver attached for running Kodi etc. & streaming Steam games. The appstore games & the web browser look a bit "noddy" (but much better than my Panasonic Viera this replaces).

Should, but go onto AV Forums and there are many who have problems. Hisense should have sorted it out by now I agree, but clearly not on their own. A 4k separate box is probably a better solution.

The things I heard are saying its the same but can be driven at a higher refresh, they apparently cheaped out on the logic.

Cheers for sending the message to them, please let us know if its 4k/60Hz, Ive been looking for the value goldilocks screen that has great colour, angles and 4K/60, this could be it!

Tbh, I couldn't care about their smart functions and would happily buy a screen without that but instead with more of the B.O.M. allocated towards quality.

I considered this and the very latest panasonic TV and opted for the Panasonic, the picture quality is not everything the quality of the compenents also have a bearing on the TV, this Hisense is well known in china as a low end product with a limited lifespan.
Anyone thinking that this TV for £400 is going to last long is perhaps deluding themselves, however, purchasing with an extended warranty might be a point worth considering.
I ended up paying £1300 so the price difference is considerable but at the end of the day i feel you do not buy to many tvs in a lifetime but you sure as hell spend a lot of time watching if you have kids.

I'm not sure what you mean by box here but if you mean the Fire TV for 4k this won't work as the tv needs to have an HDR enabled HDMI input which this hasn't got. Without it you get a warning on the Fire TV and will only see the normal HD content.

I have the 55" version of this from fleabay when it was £379. It's a good TV for the price and does the job for us as a spare room telly but it can't keep up with a £2.5k spammy, and neither would I expect it to. It's cheap, it's big and it does the job competently.

Mac, are you sure it is this new model, as this only launched in april in the uk and

price for a 4 screen wall setup project.

Depends.

I doubt this is a HDR premium tv.

Is HDR premium worth it? Yes if it is a real one with a real 10bit panel and not the fake hdr ready tvs. but those cost upwards of £1400, the real ones.

17 May 16 2 #26
Despite the vastly superior technology in today's top end TVs it doesn't translate in to good / high quality TVs unfortunately... your 9 year old Bravia is a fantastic TV which you will find hard to replace.

I'd go for a new Sony with 5/6 yr warranty.

New TVs just dont last anymore

No Amazon 4K either.

The difference is Hisense have the codec for Youtube, but it just doesn't work. And they have been promising a fix since December 2015.

LG, Sony, Samsung should ALL play Netflix, Amazon and Youtube in 4K.

andy1405
17 May 16 #16
If it doesn't actually say it has Freesat it probably doesn't. Being able to receive channels via satellite (DVB-S/S2) is not the same as having Freesat. You may be able to watch the same channels as Freesat, but they won't auto-tune and update and there will be no 7-day EPG, just a now and next guide when you select a channel. It's the same as the difference between a Freesat box and a FTA receiver box, an FTA box would not be a good choice for most people, although if it comes effectively as a free bonus there's no downside...
Renyojd
17 May 16 2 #15
Nice price (£50 cheaper than Richer / expected (?) price). I'm not in a hurry - so will (personally) wait for reviews and any further ones in the range. There were supposed to be 55" & 65" M7000's released in June (as per Hisense UK, when I called up weeks ago). The 75" M7900 is already listed (for £2,500). Honestly all I really want is the (US) 50H8C for £500-ish, but I'm not expecting that now (although will be pleasantly supprised if something like this does turn up).

Comment #15 {reply to #14?} mentions that HDR is listed on the 55M3300

Hisense US 2016 range (specs table)

All US Hisense 4k TV's list 'HDR', but note the lack of mentioned 'Local Dimming' with the H7 series, which seems to be a prerequisite for 'making the most' of HDR content:

Hope it is not the same panel and a refresh, or that will be egg on Hisense's face in the morning!

This panel was made after the previous 50/55" which was also a later panel than the H series
that you are referencing, so again hope it is not!

Spoke with hisense 4 weeks ago about our 2 x 65"'s and an updated firmware and in the same
conversation, mentioned had been waiting for the M 55" release date for the +1 factory firmware
download file.. eg: to see / get the latest build dated panels..

The M series is 50/60hz + compliant which is why I am hoping the 55" we have coming is not
the old panel ;-)

Have sent a message to hisense direct to see what they say about it!

Which is a mild refresh of the one I linked. Same panel, faster CPU and some wireless connectivity.

That is not it, that is the 2 year old H series, this is the new [april 2016] M series..

H50M3300 ;-)

With stunning UHD 4K and smart tech for less, the Hisense 50M3300 is a big screen bargain.

Fantastic value 4K
Priced to match most 1080p FHD TVs, the Hisense 50M3300 offers sensational 4K UHD for less. With four times the resolution of Full 1080p HD, 4K (UHD) TV offers stunning detail and resolution for totally life-like realism. Even without a native 4K UHD signal, UHD upscaling means that you can scale up an ordinary HD signal to make the best of the screen. Get Netflix 4K or other 4K content and the image just keeps getting better.

Smart TV
Packing a Quad Core processor, the 50M3300 is a powerful performer with Smart content, too. Connect up to your home network by Ethernet or Wi-Fi and enjoy access to a wide range of apps including favourites such as the BBC iPlayer, Netflix and YouTube. A built-in web browser lets you surf to your heart's content.

Share content
For seamless integration with your other devices, Anyview Cast and Anyview Stream let you share content from your smartphone, tablet or computer and show it on the big screen.

Fully connected
With four HDMI sockets, the 50M3300 easily handles the most complex home entertainment systems. Two of these sockets are the latest HDMI 2.0 version with HDCP 2.2, making this TV compatible with the latest UHD Blu-ray and streaming services. Other connections include no fewer than three USB sockets, one of which is the latest USB 3.0 version for a high speed link. Throw in an optical connection for a soundbar/base and headphone socket for private listening and you've got everything you need in a 4K TV.

Fantastic Freeview HD
It might be some way behind 4K, but Freeview HD is still a huge step-up on regular Freeview TV. If you're not using Sky, Virgin, BT or another digital TV provider, Freeview HD is the way to go for free-to-access digital TV through your existing aerial. Compared to standard Freeview, images are far more detailed, with rich colour and enhanced realism.

See the bigger picture, with the 4K UHD Hisense 50M3300.
