For those who fancy a bit of a hike&camp outdoor adventure, or a brew on the hillside, or warm soup on the road! this is a great cheap alternative to the ~£90 jetboil at only £28.99 I just paid £38.50 on ebay and just found this!

Looks nice but if on uneven ground I'm sure it's a swine to keep it upright.

Has anyone used this and compared it to the Jetboil? The latter is 2 or 3 times the price and wondering if it's worth it..

I make that 9 pounds and a penny. It all depends on which parts of your kit you want to skimp on. If you always go for the cheapest nobrand knock off you'll come a cropper at some point. Good luck with this.

One could argue that the Alpkit is a knock off of the original Jetboil.... When something has been out for a while, other companies always do their own version of it.
I have a Gelert Intensity stove, which is a knock off of the MSR Pocket Rocket, at only a fraction of the price. Works just as well.

All true. At some point you place your trust in a particular brand. Alpkit are a growing brand and IMO are trying to build a reputation for quality, service etc. Compare to a company like berghaus which are well into their 'cash in' phase of declining quality and Prices, again IMO.
Spend or save? I would recommend paying the extra on this one, but each to his own.

I'd pay for an alpkit anyday, reliable, great service, nice people, ..& they help the outdoor community

I might have thought about trying this. I use an MSR XGK and get tired of having to apologise to everyone for how loud it is.

It does look identical! I would have bought the alpkit @38 had I known. But at £28 posted this is a better buy IMO
