I ordered one of these when this same deal was on a couple of weeks ago..
My review in one word.. AMAZING!
I got the GoPro a few days after (ordered on the Friday and it arrived on Tuesday because of bank holiday).
No scratches, no issues or anything..
(something to note, Hero 3+ are good for 'breaking' 64GB SD cards when formatting directly from the GoPro)
I done some test recordings and done a 'format/all' from the camera and it corrupted my SD card (made it write protected etc).
I went on to GoPro live chat and they sent me out a card reader the next day so I could sort the problem - formatting the SD card from the GoPro itself can sometimes 'break' your SD card so have a SD card reader on the ready!

I'm in the same boat, leaving for LA/Vegas next weekend. Thought I'll be okay without GoPro, but now I want this one. I think I'm just gonna go for it and then sell it afterwards, not much use here in UK.
EDIT: F***. OOS. :disappointed:

my ignorance. I am looking at getting a go pro for me and my girlfriends next holiday to vegas. seen some awesome videos on YouTube. the 4k version, surely it would eat up the internal memory card very quickly. imagine only 30 mins max? people's oppinions?
look to mess around with it. hotel videos, grand canyon, roller coasters and nights out. I won't be taking a computer so I can exactly transfer recordings whilst away. worried I will fill up the memory within the first few days. thanks in advance.

The Hero Silver 4 has a touch screen on the back so you can see what you take a picture/film. 4k too.
Saying that i'm returning my Silver Hero 4 to GoPro as when its connected to wifi, there is a helicopter noise in the background when recording xD 1 year warranty

I'd just purchased the standard cam from amazon for £95 - sent straight back and ordered one of these. Wi-fi and 1 year manufacturers warranty swung it for me.

Can honestly say there is no point whatsoever in the GoPro silver's 4K. It has such a low frame rate that it is unusable. HOWEVER you also get a nifty screen and generally an all around better camera; I just bought one myself and think it is worth it but I wouldn't get it if you are after 4K

have a look at the new Olfi action camera that has built-in image stabalisation. it also shoots in 4k
Thanks, OP! Combined that with 10x Nectar points on Ebay

Okay interesting.. looking at youtube videos now to try and get an idea of what footage would be like.
I got the gimbal idea as I used to have an SJ4000, but sold it after trail running with it (was into that at the time) and the footage was too bouncy. Bike is far more stable of course, but still worried a bit..
See how it shakes side to side quite dramatically (he's out of the saddle sprinting and the bike sways).

Remember guys have used these to filming themselves crossing the globe. Over deserts, tracks, paths... And haven't needed a gimble. You'll be fine.

I agree fully, GoPros are crystal clear, and very resilient, 4k is a nice touch tho

The footage from a GoPro is outstanding. I've never seen anyone using a gimble for biking. To be honest if motor cross, snowboarders and skidoo users don't need one I'd hate to see the roads you have to suffer through. Mount it on your helmet, your body will act as a shock absorber.

If you look up you'll see that fdonovan has already said that ^^ if you think 4k is worth 60 quid more, then great, go buy that  this is still cheap tho

Doesn't say official anywhere but a quick google turns up lots of different ones, looks safe to me but if you want to look for an official case go ahead
I see it says GoPro on the mount bracket but not sure if it's official or not. Really don't want to risk dodgy parts (I'm serious about how rough the ground is).

GoPros are about the best you can get, there's a reason so many cylists and bikers use them, great devices
article there, not much difference at all, certainly not enough to pay £60 more imo, unless you desperately need 4k over HD (psst, you don't)

Is there much difference between this model and the GoPro silver HERO 4, which is selling for £179.99?. It was posted on here last week and still available.

Really want an action cam for the bike but no clue where to start. Roads where I live are comically crap so the cam would shake a lot, need a good gimbal I think which is probably too pricey and not sure how good they are yet either.
