They could have just remastered the PS3 remastered version!
Then we'd have our first PS4 re-remastered game.

I've got to disagree with you there mate. I own both a PS4 and Xbox One and my xbox one is on a lot more simply because of what I have available in my back catalogue now with both xbox one games and 360 games. In terms of the backwards compatibility running worse on xbox one, you couldn't be further from the truth. The back-cat games run the same at worst with some running slightly better and more efficiently. The ps4 has backwards compatibility but Sony are charging £12.99 a month for the privilege. The majority of remastered games are simply ports, mainly from the PC versions released at the time with the exception of exclusives. I personally think that backwards compatibility is a great move as there are remasters being made left right and centre with a price tag of £30-£50 and rather than pay that I could potentially play the same game for about a fiver. In terms of it being pointless having a current gen machine to play a last gen game, that still applies even if it's a remaster, so your comment is a little hypocritical. Just my opinion of course.

Couldn't bite even at this price, didn't enjoy it as much as the first 2 games.

Weakest out of the first 3 imo should've started at the beginning or at least remastered the 2nd (and best)

and that would of require a lot of work as its a ps2 game but i do think they should of put the extra effort in and done all three games

it's a great game completed twice on ps3 now I'm half way through on ps4 I don't see much of a upgrade on the ps4 version graphics wise but what a game

If it is not much of an upgrade I might as well just go back to playing it on the PS3 as and when.

Great game on the PS3, fed up with all the remasters on PS4 though.
It's quite obvious now why Sony haven't bothered with backwards compatibility, if it's easy enough to port these games then I'm sure they could have got the PS4 hardware running the original games with a little bit of effort

I'm sorry but comments like this annoy me.
People thinking they are simply porting from ps2/3 to the ps4 with ease. They technically have to re-code a lot of the ps2 games (for stability and to add trophies) and the PS3 remastered are all pretty much either re-created or again, re-coded in a major way to increase the graphics, speed, stability and even add extra features.
The Xbox BC is purely playing the games the same or worse than the original 360, if Sony did that then the same people complaining about remaster would complain about that.
Heat for this offer, if you look at this in a side by side PS3 version you can see how different it is offering full 1080/60 with increased textures

Just as many on the Xbox one, but I agree it woudn be do hard for them to implement BC, isn't that what playstaion now basically is?

Each to their own and all that but i'd rather play the game I already own than fork out again for a few extra pixels!
My PS4 has barely been on since I got an Xbox One.

That's the thing though, most decent remastered are not a like-for-like. There are extras, fixes and improvements. Plus for vita owners like myself (and now PC and Mac owners) the ability to play remotely.
I just don't see the appeal with buying a current gen console to play last gen when they still run better on last gen. That's like buying a new TV and bluray player just to play SD DVDs

I've got too much to play just now, completed ROT Tomb Raider and I'm now working my through Quantum Break with Ori and The Blind Forest, Dragon Age Inquisition and the numerous sports games on EA Access to get through.
Hopefully it'll come down a little before I feel the urge to buy.
I certainly don't feel like there are as many 're-masters' on the Xbox as the PS4. Sony have re-released just about every decent PS3 exclusive.
