I thought this was a fab price from Glasgow for 7 nights in Vegas.
It seems to be an average hotel from tripadvisor reviews but at £437pp including flights its still a good deal. You could even pay for a night or two at a better hotel if you fancied.
Includes luggage and meals on the flight but resort fees and transfers etc will be on top of this price. This is room only price.
Wish I could go but just too short notice for me.

There were loads of other options for other better hotels and later dates in May and June but this was the cheapest option.

For anyone thats not been and this is my opinion... Its as the yanks say 'AWESOME'. I don't recommend staying in or around old vegas i.e. Fremont St. Its a dump and as we in Glasgow say full of Jakes. The shows are out of this world. Biased as I may be look for a deal on the signature at mgm balcony suits if not hotels that look lovely from outside and inside(not seen in rooms) inc. cosmopolitan, caesars palace, venetian, palazzo, wynn. I didnt like look of ballagio(too much hustle n bustle inside). Whilst searching I have seen week holidays staying at most of these hotels for min 730 although at certain times of year have seen 3000. Wear wear wear comfy trainers shoes you will be doing a power of walking, i made this mistake on second night, brand new shoes on walked for miles and feet were cut rest of holiday. Jump of the top of Stratosphere it may sound daunting but it is amazing. There is a asian restaurant in planet hollywood get the Mongolian beef.

That's probably true but the casinos make $5 Billion a year! It wouldn't be that difficult to pay people who help to bring that money in, a living wage would it? If there's one city in the entire United States that it shouldn't have families eating out of dustbins, it's Vegas.

The issues of poverty aren't exclusive to Vegas.. virtually every major American city has those problems due to the state of the countries finances and healthcare.

It just seems a lot more prevalent in Vegas because it's a smaller city.

I was in Washington DC last week and it's like 2 different cities when you compare daytime and night.

Vegas is awesome and has something for everyone unless your a miserable old man. I've been 3 times in the last 3 years and am about to book again for next year. Who doesn't want to take a few days to escape reality and experience, gambling, drinking, eating, and partying to the extreme???

With that being said, i'm not into partying as i think i'm a little past that now but there's so much more to do in Vegas and i'm not sure people that have never been actually realise how much there is to do.

Doing it on horseback would be my choice. I have been to other US cities, ones' off the beaten track, such as St. Augustine Fl not Miami, ridden out with the Florda cowboys, unforgettable! LV and LA would obviously appeal to some though, i appreciate that.

one overlooked region not far from vegas is southern utah, there are 3 or 4 national parks there that are absolutely stunning
Jase87
12 May 16 1 #69
Vegas is one of those places you'll never understand unless you go there. There's so much more to it than drinking and gambling.. I spent 18 days there last year(over 2 trips) and i'd quite happily go back again this year.

But you're also right about the surrounding areas.. You have Red Rock, Lake Mead and Hoover dam on your doorstep and ofcourse you are just a few hours away from some of North Americas finest national parks. There's so much to see and do there! Most people just opt for a helicopter tour to the grand canyon.. however it's not the real grand canyon as the copters only take you to GC West - which isn't actually part of the national park... it's just an Indian reservation turned tourist trap. If you ever go to Vegas and want to see the Grand Canyon then do it properly.. drive out and stay over night!

Circus Circus is also now a timeshare hotel believe it or not. I found out as I asked a bellhop for any info about show tickets, and they gave me a 20 min talk about a downtown talk that had a free buffet.

Totally agree with the comments about Fremont Street. Fine to go to on a night out, but not as a place to stay. Never seen so many young people sleeping rough, trying to hustle or pickpocket.

That kind of stuff is literally one street over from the main strip, turn a corner and you'll see it first hand. A lot of Drink, drug and gambling problems and nothing being done about it. If you're socially minded at all, it'll get to you.

That might've helped! I was on a stag. We were there for 10 days. Some of the guys from the States stayed in Paradise, which is the next town over sort of thing. I thought it was better there, we were right in the middle of it all.

I think if I'd have been 22 id have loved it, but at 28 I found it all a bit crass. It's one of those Marmite places I suppose. You don't need to go very far from the main strip to find some pretty apppaling poverty. For all the money the casinos bring into the state you'd think some of it would find its way into improving the lives of the very people that live and work there. That juxtaposition didn't sit well with me. It all felt fake. I went to the casino 'Swingers' filmed in, that was cool.

1. Next door can sometimes be quite a walk
2. If next door is also an MGM resort, that won't help you
3. Everyone will be doing that so you may not find a space (I was there for NYE 2015 and the car parks in most hotels were closed at 5pm as full up)
4. What makes you think that the Caesars chain won't follow suit and charge too? As the Caesars and MGM chains own half the hotels on the strip, they pretty much have all the power (hence we are charged $30 a day for Internet access, local calls and a newspaper, which isn't optional!)

I spent 20hours + roaming the web. Last year me n wife booked last minute.com and had no hassle so thought I would book through them again but every time I proceeded to checkout The price increased dramatically so spent some more time on phone arguing lol. On the second night of searching I woke up at 230am n thought I will have a look and low n behold the price That I couldn't get through the day I managed to get and that morning I received all my confirmation emails n atol certs. Do you know how far away next door is?

My guess is that as soon as MGM start charging (rumoured from beginning of june) is that all non MGM group garages will need a room key to enter, like it has been downtown for a long time

Was in Vegas last week, awesome as always!

Just a warning for those hiring cars, from next month the MGM hotels chain (Mandalay Bay, aria, MGM, Monte Carlo etc) will be charging for parking (both self park and valet), so remember to add that to the daily rate

Stayed in the Cosmo last year, had a small issue with a stuck up staff member at checkin but they did apologise with chocolates and a card which was good of them.

Hotel is fantastic, the comments above are true that the Casino is long and thin but the Aria is just across the bridge and the Panda slot machine in the Cosmo I ended up nearly $500 so am Biased, the room is amazing, we upgraded to Bellagio view, worth every penny, we did get a good deal, around £90 a night for basic room.

Three tips, and all things are down to opinion!

1. We were delayed waiting for luggage and in that time it got dark outside, we got into the hire car and I was angry as I had no idea where I was going, however it was easy an turned out of the airport right on to the strip and just looked right at it, a memory that truly will stay with me!

2. Within Cosmo there is a place called Secret Pizza, very good pizza and good prices for Vegas.

3. Just over the Strip from Cosmo and Aria there is a place called Bonnanos new york restaurant, I am a massive fan of burger's but I can honestly say the burger in that place was the best I have ever eaten!

Vegas is awesome and is not just for hardcore gamblers it is one hell of an experience and for this price anyone doubting if it is for them give it a go, unlikely you will regret it!

Transfers lol the airport is a stones throw from the strip. Wouldn't stay at this hotel but for a direct flight at this time of year great price. Im flying virgin from edinburgh to jfk to Vegas n back November for 9day 8night staying at hard rock for 509 each. Again hard rock is not my ideal choice but me and my mate couldnt knock back this deal. I highly recommend the Signature at mgm balcony suites, stayed there last year with wife its lovely.

Just to throw an opinion In. In Vegas at the moment and spent the previous 2 months researching flight and hotel prices for May. Westgate for a basic room 10 nights was averaging £200 total + resort fees. Take some time looking at different rooms, I ended up with Treasure Island petite suite for £750 and resort fees are optional.
Remember that Westgate is a timeshare hotel and you'll get a lot of people trying to sell you one while there.

We looked at the wynn but they didn't have rooms available with X2 doubles for me and a mate who were sharing so settled on the cosmo for that reason and location. A casino is a casino to us so not that fussed about that and we got a fairly good deal.
Ian182
10 May 16 #38
Yea, a couple of times. It's a nice hotel and perfect location, but there are better and cheaper options IMO. Not a huge fan of the rooms, although they are quite spacious. I don't like the casino at all. It's too long and narrow, which doesn't give it a good atmosphere. There's also hundreds of people constantly walking through it. Pool isn't great - very small. And finally, rooms are very expensive.

I'd rather stay at Caesars or Planet Hollywood, which both have better casinos and are both in the heart of the action too (and both cheaper). But my favourite is the Wynn hands down. Bit further up the strip, but the best hotel in Vegas.

Yer we normally stay in the Aria ,
Book got a stupidly low price for flights from Dublin .

Went the exact same route and stayed 9 nights in the Vdara in Sept 2014. Loved it, hotel was great, only minor annoying thing was having to walk back through either the Bellagio, Cosmopolitan or Aria to get to the Vdara as you couldn't really walk directly from the strip to the Vdara. Try and get a room facing out towards the Bellagio as the view was great.Loved it all the same and would stay again in a heartbeat

Dont forget the rip-off COMPULSORY resort fees - this is where the hotel charges you $25-$35 per night payable when you get there and try to justify it by giving you a "free" newspaper etc. Not for me as I cant stand the yanks but good deal for those who can bear them

put in your desired dates in on expedia for example, get the prices and then literally adjust the dates by a day or so. You would be amazed how much cheaper you can get it. I went to vegas a couple of years ago, prices were starting off in the £800's but then flying out on a tuesday, i got better (direct flights) for a tad over £600 staying in the luxor. Again not the best hotel on the strip but id certainly stop there again.

Even if you don't gamble Vegas is a great base to stay in when going to Zion, Valley of fire and even Bryce national park. Death valley and LA the other direction. Driving is so relaxed and long journeys through fantastic scenery are enjoyable and hotel prices at a fraction of anywhere else on the western side of the USA

Believe me, you got the better deal. Each to their own , but when I saw someone playing a fruit machine in a supermarket in Vegas I knew it wasn't for me. If you do go be sure to waste an hour of your life driving out to the Ethel M Chocolate Factory Tour. This review sums it up perfectly.
This place is TOTAL a waste of time. It's far from the strip (in the middle of nowhere) and it's so not worth it. The "tour" consists of walking down a hallway which is about forty feet long while you peer through glass onto the factory floor where absolutely NOTHING is going on at all (you can take a look at 5 pictures explaining how chocolate is made... google would make the job). Ok, good, they give you 2 M&M pieces, but seriously, that's all you're gonna taste there. The hallway then ends into the gift shop where they try to sell you overpriced chocolates that are not even good. Avoid this place and go in the M&M store on the Las Vegas Blvd.
