From my dealing with Aliexpress maybe this could be a way to avoid a Paypal dispute (IIR you have 45 days to open a case???).
Bought a watch off there with an ivory face. Was sent a completely different model with an awful bright green face. Seller claimed it was a pixel error on the sensor. Yeah right just those pixels the image of the face was focused on when from white to green and everything else on the pic remained as is. Aliexpress gave me a 50% refund. With it being a completely different ugly as feck watch they should have gone with their 100% refund IMO so I'm not inclined to buy from them unless my options are limited.

Very unlikely. The whole process is controlled via AliExpress so any communication is via their messaging system. The payments are also do via AliPay so its just like paypal.

I'm not sure how long Aliexpress allow to raise a dispute, I raised one a week or so ago. today got an email to say that it elapsed without reply so they'll issue a refund in 7-10 days.

I did contact the seller back on the 15th of June and he said there wasn't any tracking information because of low cost of the item and the China Post Ordinary Small Packet Plus. It does say up to 60 days and that if the package hasn't be received by the 11th of July will get a full refund. I'll wait until then and see what happens, if nothing then i'll open a dispute. Shame as i actually really needed a new laptop bag :-S. Even though i have never had a bad purchase on aliexpress (Except this one) i still wouldn't spend anything over £20.

Er.....thats what I said.
Daily Mail - right wing tripe.
Guardian, far worse - a heterophobic, misandrist, pompous arrogant self-obsessed self-important garbage. Makes Daily Mail look honest by comparison (its not)
I'm sure going by your original rant about Daily Mail, you meant DM again. But doesn't say much for you, eh ?

I have bought before "Genuine leather" products which turned out to be faux leather. And when I confronted the seller his answer was "Real leather is expensive"

mmmmm, Ali express, I've stopped using them because of the poor quality of the goods. they are very cheap but it's at a price! If you need to return goods because of manufacturing defects you don't get a full refund. :disappointed:

Keep buying direct from the crafty Chinese who probably sell the same item for the same price as wholesale to some poor British resellers who's trying to make a living but these Chinese are still greedy enough to act as retailer themselves and basically kill the market for those small sellers in our country too ... You people are just as greedy as them ... Why not wait two months and save a few quid and help the Chinese kill our trades and our economy faster ...

Aliexpress are normally very good. I've used them about 12 times. I would never go over £15.00 inc FREE delivery.
For two reasons:
1/ no VAT or nasty £8.00 Post Office admin surprises.
2/ keeps it to 'low value' so if it did go wrong I'm not loosing sleep
Cheers
ps
I do find the Chinese colour blind with their description and item delivered! esp orange & red.

A friend of mine lives in China and does a lot of shopping on this website. She said the products are usually okay three out of four times. She has had refunds/exchanges but said it is a massive hassle. Her advice was to order 'buyer beware' and use it mainly for low cost items.
