i had one of these pies a number of years ago and the following day had a little excess gas if you know what i mean. Anyway after a sly and controlled release my work mate at the time said "you had a frey bentos pie for your tea last night diddn't you". I havn't had one since. And I work outside.

Nettos closed operations in the UK saying that the country wasn't ready for discount retail outlets. Of course it had nothing to do with the fact all the stores I went to were shyte tips.
They are now under the wing of Sainsbugs and tbh they are not really a discount store anymore most of the prices are horrifically expensive in comparison to the likes of Lidl & Aldi.

But it's still a pretty unpleasant shop - despite the changes. As bad as it ever was, but more expensive. Not a patch on Aldi or Lidl.
Difficult to see why anyone would go there - unless of course it's just for cheapo pies like this.

Fray Bentos faithful and true.......................steak and kidney pie was and is my Favourite, although many years ago I sliced my hand open trying to get the bloody lid off.

Surprisingly hard to find minced beef pies. Not many options out in UK it seems.

Most of the time Poundland have the Fray Bentos pie range including Chicken (Yech) for the obvious price of a Quid,
all the Supermarkets vary the price from £1 up to £2.20, there is usually one of them selling them for a Quid..

pastry in a can is just so wrong, and then there's the gagging reflex when you open one and you get a whiff of dog food

Fresh ones. Or at least not in cans. Think of the three, I've only seen from Morrisons.
