Well last year my girlfriend and I got an Elephone each. Within two months one had developed a fault and had to be returned to China at our expense (and it they didn't actually bother to fix it when it got there, they returned it still broken). The other had battery drain and spyware and adware stealth installed on it as part of an official system update and had to be downgraded (a process that could have easily bricked the phone in the wrong hands).

my battery is 3000mAh (lolipop 5.1) and with WiFi ONLY, it lasts about 2days with one charge. Not good in my opinion, would expect with such usage to last 3 days at least, so imagine a smaller battery, octa core processor and higher usage (data etc)....

I dont think the issue from these chinese phones is the hardware its the software. So you need to find the make that you can readily get the ROM's.
For the price you pay you take the risk of it breaking down and resale value in return for some excellent hardware.

Huawei don't count and neither do ZTE. They are reputable manufacturers who just happen to be Chinese. The likes of Elephone are not in the same league.

I don't know how to put this so that it genuinely helps somebody. Not all Chinese phones are bad but it will be difficult to find a less reliable phone than Elephone. These phones are the pits. Don't say you haven't been warned.

I have a Meizu MX4 Pro which cost 130 quid net from Banggood (380 quid from Amazon at the moment lol) and that has a superb 20.7mp Sony shooter (I believe the same as used in the Z3). Only 16GB ROM though and no SD card.
OOS at Banggood but can be had for a ridiculously cheap 107 quid off ebay.
leave elephone alone !! great phones, for a few days then they go downhill. I had a P7000. Paid $220. The screen wasn't working in certain places so i messaged the reseller and asked to send it back as i had 2 years warranty. They asked me to record a video of the problem. They then told me to send it back at my expense !!! Not cheap to return as the closest repair center is Germany. They then told me it would be the factories decision on whether to repair it under warranty or not. I asked why that was, as there was no marks on the screen. They said it might have been dropped. They were full of lies.
Good luck to all, but spend your money on a proper phone, ignore the spec, it certainly doesn't run like the spec says

Unfortunately, not true. Well in my experience, BeTouch 2 I had and was a horrid experience, for me no different to my S4. These chinese phones boast some 'impressive' specs but fail on the software side. And always seem to mislead the actual OS version, mine said 5.1, it was not.

Wifi drains battery very fast much like 3G, I have 2 different Chinese phones, the 1st when I used as main lasted 10-12 days when I first got it as long as wifi, mobile data and 3G was sturned off and I made no calls and just used it for the odd text message since I only used it for emergencies as had landline or when someone text me.
Its now 2 years old and lasted 7-10 days doing the same but 2 months ago upgraded to a newer Chinese phone, so its gone back to 10-14 days usage if I never use it and just now and again check battery.
My new Chinese phone is 4G but set to 3G, and data and wifi turned off it lasts about 10-14 days, a few times I turned on data to check an email and left it turned on and even at full charge with it on it lasts about 2 or 3 days if I do so.
Apps logically drain battery fast.
So disable wifi, data, 3/4g unless you realy need to

Every phone is chinese, isn't it? I think its the seller that people are against. Ali, DX, gearbest, banggood. All utterly sh*t places to order from, unless the item is over £100 and you use a credit card, especially amex.
Saying that, most of these cheap and cheerful chinese brands are crap. Excellent hardware, usually poor, buggy and untested software, plus most have mediatec chips, and most never see another update. Usually safe with huawei, ZTE, xiaomi. I find elephone, kingzone, jiayu, mlais are all brands to walk, sorry, run away from.

This is just one of the issues. The phone does as it pleased towards the end. Speaker went distorted. Sometimes i clicked to ring someone and it selected the person above/below
And to all the people who say its crap because the chinese made it, you are wrong. Yes it was made in China by Chinese people. Its the company that is crap. Elephone dont want to know when you email them. They tell you to to reseller.
These phones dont last. Never thought i would say this but it was a relief to get the iphone 5s as a replacement. Runs 10x better than the new elephone

Had my P7000 almost a year now, still working fine, was a gamble buying it ($149) but after the early bugs were sorted it's been stable - guess I'm one of the lucky ones. Tempted by the M3 if the camera gets decent reviews.

Everyones experience with chinese phones is different. I started with a jiake (pronounced yay-ki) and recently owned a cubot which lasted me over 2 years and still works. The hd screen and octacore processor was always upto speed with the latest commercial phones. The reason a company is crap usually has a reason too.
My logical thinking is that every company is a certain step of the ladder and companies with a big capital to invest usually come out top. A giant like Apple for e.g has the money to make one chinese company source a good camera and make one company source a good touchscreen and another to source a good battery. The smaller companies will always have to make do with what they have but will hardly ever be recognized for it. It's just a shame that these companies that make the mainstream never ever or hardly ever mention their source for each component but rather make out the new iphone has this this and this. The chinese company is still not mentioned or recognized. In these circumstances you must decide which you choose. A phone blatently over priced or a one that is underpriced but is upto par with most components it offers. There is a balance required between both and that somehow has to do with corporate greed as with most problems in society.

I bought 2 elephone p8000s at launch about a year ago one for me and one for my daughter and both are still working perfectly i have a SGS6 edge so mines a backup but their was a time i used it all the time i even took it on holiday and it was great watched videos all the way back on the plane for 4.5 hours and still had 40% battery i no its a different model but the p8000 did very well loads bought them off here. My daughter loves hers so much she bought the p9000 last week off ebay from a UK seller, i also bought a elephone W2 smartwatch and loved it, it looked really smart but after just 4 weeks it stopped working the one button to track sleep or steps wouldn't register. This is a great price and is the same specs as the p8000 just a much smaller battery but if you buy this take it as a risk as if it breaks its a throw away and you loose your money but if you get a good one youve scored a cracking cheep phone.
I'm just about to sell my year old Elephone P7000, its been a good phone, but the battery only just about lasted a day.
I've recently replaced it with a Ulefone Power which blows it away in every respect, screen is better, faster, and the battery has lasted 3 days with heavy use. Outstanding phone for £110 from Banggood, highly recommended

Mine came with a decent gel case in the box. It also came fitted with a plastic screen cover, and a tempered glass version in the box. I took off the plastic one on the phone, as it offers no protection to the screen, but when I fitted the glass one, it did`nt seal properly around the edge, and has an odd blue tinge to it?! I`ve left it on for now, but have had to order another one.

Not noticed any malware, but mine is going back anyway. -6dBm difference on U2100 network compared to my old phone, no wonder I struggled to get a signal with 50% less RSL. So will get to test the Alixpress returns service, this may be fun...
