Had mine come a few days ago and managed to get the £5.
I turned the phone on with data off, text STOP PACK to 150, then YES to the same number (it asks for confirmation).
To check the credit I sent "AL" to 150 (free), which sent me a text confirming the £5 credit on the sim. Nice!
I'm trying this sim as a trial to actually move to a EE contract, not trying to pay for services using it, so can't comment on that :innocent:

Mine has just arrived, but it only seems to have £1 of credit. :disappointed:

Can the credit be used to unlock my iPhone on EE? Could mean half the cost to unlock.

So I've had a couple of these sims lying on the table here for a month or so - anybody found any Hot Deals on Google Play Store or must have apps etc.?

Going to use this to see how the EE signal is in my area, as Giffgaff is getting unusable,

One thing I found this useful for was porting number to the same network
I signed up to the £1 a week plan when I receive the sim (10 mins, 10 texts, 100mb data for the week)
I was on Three
Monday - Put in a request to port to this EE sim before 4pm
Tuesday - Number ported to this EE sim
Wednesday - Put a request to port to Three before 4pm
Thursday - Ported back to Three
99p to stay on the same network on a deal for new customers.
Obviously the only network you cannot port from and to is EE
All others should work.
From the £5 credit I used £1 plus a couple of calls to EE at 30p a go
The for one day whilst with EE had only 10 mins, 10 texts and 100mb to use and also could dip into the rest of the credit £5 if needed.

Good idea, but I advise spending the extra credit on Google Play (before losing it when your number is ported back), keep your number and get a few quid of Google Play credit, so an app or two, a few songs, whatever.

Standard price for those, on rakouten website thing you also get points which comes out just a tiny bit cheaper.

Yea, was never turned on, besides if data was active, I would of had £1 taken straightaway.

Did you turn off the data on your phone first ?

No idea what it was then, but somehow I lost 30p Because I wanted to spend it on Riot Points in League of Legends but it didn't let me. When I bought it twice for £2, I got a message you have £0.70 left.

So the trick is to write STOP PACK to 150 as soon as you insert the sim card into your phone and then you are left with £5. However I have decided to try and text STOP PACK again because i received that my pack will be started as soon as I make a call or text, or use data after I have actually done STOP PACK in the first place (I panicked) so I was left with £4.70. But I can still use it for places like google play credit
So have I. Typical advice from EE - when in doubt just make something up

You have to insert the sim choose ee billing and then you can remove it

You can't use it on Google play. I tried using it but wouldn't let me. I called ee and they said it will only work for contract users. Not sure if that's fully accurate or not but that is what I was told.

You can but PlayStation will charge a commission. You can do this on the PlayStation app.

These sims are good to buy and then donate the £5 credit to a charity that accepts text message donations

Yes they can but remember there's a 10p charge or something for the text activation and PSN credit can only be redeemed in £5 amounts.

Just read the other thread with them, it looks like it depends on whether you can get ee to transfer all of the sim credit onto 1 sim card, mixed reports as to whether they will or not.
