Not sure it should be compared to a chromecast. Seems vastly more useful than than that. Can't find any use for one in my setup (I've been trying) :smile:

It is basically a wifi bridge in between two ethernet cable ends. i.e. Wirelessly bridging your router to another wired networked device.

Weird set of features (bridge/repeater/AirPlay) but if your setup happens to need all of those things then this is a steal. Pretty niche though I reckon

Does anyone know if it will extend WiFi via its network port? Is that repeater mode?
My house is fully wired but I only have the router & separate switch under the stairs so WiFi isn't great in some parts of the house.

I too had initially wondered same?, lol.
But unlike that of either Google's Chromecast, &/or Google's Chromecast AAudio varients, this little baby does NOT require any Android/iOS Software to drive it? (whereas my 2 earlier aforementioned does!).
So this theoretically could potentially have more arms & legs than Google's own equivalent? (or not!, depending on how you like look at it?, lol).

Suggestions of things to plug this into.
A raspberry pi, that is close to your media centre
Xbox (or original xbox 360), or any retro console with network only
A samsung TV that requires an overpriced wifi dongle.
A linux laptop with a irritating as hell Atheros wifi chip, which seems to think a hardware switch is off.
SIP phones
Cheapo NAS hdd case you got ages ago.

The need to run it from the mains (to maintain a good signal if their test is right) is a little off putting.

These won't generally be be required for this Device anyway, but for those of you that may feel they require such Software/have a need for such Software then to aid in enhancing their use of this Device, when attached in some way to your NAS, etc, etc (which isn't a strict requirement either way mind), then:
There are iOS equivalent's of the above 2 App's too via Apple's own App's Store as well.
Hopefully this will help somebody somewhere?. :-)

so i bought one. but the title says its a bridge. however the description says its a repeater. its not a repeater at all and its not fit for purpose as described and yet 7 day shop say this is my fault. i will be avoiding them from now on and let paypal deal with a claim

Yeah, I ordered one too, it's not even arrived yet and I already know it's going to be absolutely useless to me, as it was a repeater that I needed. 7dayshop have changed the product description now to remove any mention of it being a repeater, but the old version of the page is still available on google's cache! I'm pretty cheesed off now because I've just bought a paperweight!
