maybe because the newer V6 model can often be found £200 brand new? and this is refurbished discontinued model for just £50 less than that?

Thanks, been looking at getting the DC35 but its been "hoovering" around the 150 mark for quite a while now. This is a steal at cheaper!

Cheapest I can find is £250, have you any links for a new one at £200?

26 May 161#7
just bought one of these -hoping it's a new one and dyson are getting rid of excess Dc59 branded units now they've rebranded it a V6. I understand that the DC59 comes with more tools that the V6 one does, if that's important to you.

just ordered thanks
great that the nectar deal is on also
this is a completely different model tho,it's handheld..this deal and the mentioned V6 are full sized ones..
paulj48
27 May 16#13
It's not even the 'animal' version with the power head, the DC59 comes with 2 powered heads (full size and small) , the powered extension pole and a wall mounted charging dock, all that is not included with the handheld version

Depends upon how thorough you want to be or how bad in the first place, if it a quick weekly whip round then yes, otherwise do upstairs one day and down another ..

Does anyone know if these will include all the attachments?
paulj48

all the attachments that would normally come with a DC59 yes I presume so as that's what's its advertised as.

it clearly says in the listing "Refurbished - 1 year guarantee".
their refurbished ones have always been with 1 year warranty.
they will know this by serial number/

I got a refurbished one when the eBay coupon was out for a similar price. When I registered it stated 2 years.

27 May 16#27
I suspect this is how they clear out their (brand new) discontinued stock without risking stealing away too many would-be buyers of the current models at higher prices. People are less likely to compare this directly to the V6 ones if it's listed as "refurbished".
I can confirm this comes with 4 x accessory fittings along with the standard long pole.
I got mine this morning, great condition but definitely refurb as it was fully charged.

Just a tip for anyone new to those, when the battery is flat it will just stop, theres no slowing down then stop.
You get a flashing led for the last minute or so but you dont normally notice that !

Did it look like it's in new condition - i.e. someone opened it, tried it, returned it?
topgeezah
28 May 161#32
It's in excellent condition but clearly not brand new, also the charger cable is clearly pre-used and came bound by an elastic band.
The other accessories come in a separate box and were brand new.
crazymonkey
28 May 16#33
The last time they did something like this I ordered two, one came brand new and the other came in a box that looked like it had been at the annual Parcelfarce vs Royal Snail Mail football game. Looking back I wish I'd just returned the second one.
I have done the same this time too, so if one turns up looking like s**t I will just return it.
Thank you for your comment  Tempted to order a third one just in case it turns up like tat.
paulj48
28 May 16#34
Mine arrived in a plain box, not a single mark on any of the kit and working perfectly, I've just wall mounted the docking station but there is only room for main unit with pole and power head and 2 extra attachements, where are you supposed to store the small powered head?
AAB
28 May 16#35
You meant to sell that on eBay

Have you tried registering the warranty online? My serial number has given me a 2 year warranty, happy days

28 May 16#37
this is a great deal.DC59 is the model to go for or V6..and Dyson refurbished ones are like Apple refurbished products either new or as new.so you get quality.at this price it's a must have imo.

mine is definitely not new I can see some scratches on the smaller head attachment but charger and the rest look brand new or like new..
however I think the machine is a little faulty the motorised head is supposed to roll but mine doesn't always roll..rolls for a while then stops..it's time to contact Dyson and ask for replacement.

Did anyone else get a 2 year warranty when registering online?
Rather than creating 101 posts of 'I got a 2 year warranty' just hit the like button and it will tally for others to see.
I just got mine and I'll be registering shortly

Yes, just plug in the cable to the main unit, I will not be using wall mount, certainly used, can see some scratches on silver head, rest looks clean, will try in the evening after fully charged.

I get 'Error - The Serial Number is invalid' when I try and register online. Presumably it's a 1 year guarantee for me then, assuming I've put in the right code of course. Still a bargain all the same.

It will be interesting to see if I can make any sort of claim in the 2nd year as mine is coming up as 28/5/2018 for the warranty. Looked nearly new, only a very slight show of dust inside and some had collected outside like it had been sat on a shelf for a month. Otherwise it looks good, new attachments etc as Dyson's clear waste box and attachments scratch after a few uses. Battery was nearly empty and lasted under a minute.
I wonder how long the novelty will last with my 6 year old who thinks it's great to use it..

31 May 16#50
Well I've tried registering mine and the POS won't register! Also it looks mega used and as if someone made an half assed effort to clean it. Not impressed, previous orders from Dyson outlet have been great! This order however not so :disappointed:

found 2 problems with mine already..while Im still waiting for a replacement head from Dyson, (brushes don't always roll especially on carpet) ..I noticed the machine trigger button turns off randomly during use and I need to release and press it again.
I think I should ask for a full replacement at this point.so annoying! :disappointed:

I noticed a couple of times the head stopped on carpet, must have tripped the overload, I will keep an eye on it. was it easy enough to get a new head sent out & is it a faff returning the broke one?
Tequila
3 Jun 16#55
customer service was spot on,very similar to quality of Apple customer service, they took me through few trouble shooting tests and then just sent a new relacement head and I didnt have to send back the faulty one.as I said I noticed a different issue later on so called them again and this time they sent a new head (without canister and battery).these parts are expensive,£60 for head and £70 for motor,so they are really doing great after sale service.
So does you machine stop spinning completely on carpet? what if you move on non carpet area afterwards, does it resume spinning immediately?
I wonder if these are suited for carpet at all?
GoNz017
3 Jun 16#56
Thanks, I will give them a call. Head didn't get going once on a thick rug and another time it stopped until I let go of the trigger on the same rug (took me a while to notice), only really got it for the kitchen due to having a 2 & 6 year old so the rest if hard floor. (and the stairs)
Head without battery, so they sent a motor unit or everything but the motor?
does your motor vibrate as it's slowing down when turned off?
Tequila
3 Jun 161#57
First they sent the motorised head part (the floor attachment that has rolling brush),but I still had the problem so this time they sent the main unit head (the part you hold) without the dust canister and battery..
I havent received it yet so can't say whether it's resolving the problem or not.
I didn't notice any vibration.
the problem with mine was more persistent than just on carpet, brushes did roll but stopped rolling randomly and as soon as it touched carpet (thin carpet nothing thich or long) it stopped rolling even when I moved it on laminated flooring part afterwards.so had to shake it and wait a while to start spinning again.
I've seen videos of it running without issues on carpet on youtube so it cant be normal.
let us know what they say when you call them.

They are posting me out a new plastic bin to rule that out as the poor connection as I managed to get the mini head to fail on the phone to them. Decent enough support :man:
I forgot all about the vibration as it slows down but I will call back if it annoys me!

Just to update, the replacement motor (main unit) arrived and it sorted the issue of random working rolling brushes.the machine now works perfectly and those brushes roll all the time on both carpet and hard floor. :sunglasses:
