I tried it with the motorized tool first, it seemed to pick up a lot of dust from the stairs, which is impressive considering I used my cylinder Dyson on the same area earlier this week.

Are you using it with the motorised tool? And without the max power button.

i spoke to them yesterday as well, they said new machines arrived a day ago and system automatically updated the stock levels, therefore it was showing 1 day delivery on the website, but previous orders would be processed first. This morning, both of my orders were still pending but now they are showing processing. Hopefully i should get them tomorrow.

Still no update on mine after the 'We expect that your order to be delivered by Friday 3rd June', which seems will not be happening. Annoying the website is still showing 'Estimated delivery: Next day*'.
Anyone else still waiting or should I start chasing them?

much more useful machine with the larger motorised head and extension pole, like the above user I cant seem to think of much to clean with just a 'hand held' whereas the powered extension pole and bigger head allows for more use.

I got mine! but I dont find it THAT powerful as others have mentioned ... (I read somewhere that its as powerful as a cars engine..??)
What are you guys using this for - I cant think of anything else then cleaning the car - and maybe using one of the kit extensions for dust.
Another one... the name Animal - is it to relate to users with with pets as I guess it can be useful for cleaning animal hair etc..

I received the following email from Dyson Customer Setvice Friday morning :-
"Thank you for your recent order with Dyson.
Due to an unprecedented amount of orders placed, unfortunately there will be a delay in delivering your Dyson order. We expect that your order to be delivered by Friday 3rd June. Once your machine has been dispatched you should receive an email from the courier service which will advise tracking details."
I placed my order at 5:30pm on Monday 23/5, I've never had to wait so long for an item that was "available immediately" for "next day delivery" !

So you must intend to use the wand with the small powered head as you mention that it powers it ok.
Horses for courses really, I've bought the DC59 to supliment a normal push around, but I still intend to use the big powered head on the stairs for example.
Speculator
27 May 161#200
Don't need the Big head TBH. My other vacuum is a Miele for vacuuming around the house. I just need the Dyson for spiders, moths (that's why I bought the wand) and small spills upstairs.
Really impressed with my first Dyson. May even buy a full size one when my Miele dies.
paulj48
27 May 16#199
but you still don't have the normal size powered head or wall mounted charging docking station that comes with DC59, fair do's with the extra tools but honestly they look like their a bit niche anyway. No bag needed as the extra tools fit onto the docking station.
Speculator
27 May 16#198
Also, I received my free tools today via Royal Mail.
Even comes with a very nice storage bag for all my tools.
So I paid just less than £144 and got a brand new DC58, Genuine Dyson Wand and £65 worth of extra tools and storage bag!

I ordered the long thing via Flubit for £25.03 and came today via Kenco Spares/Amazon. It's an original Dyson part and fits my DC58 and it doesn't wobble at all. It also definitely powers the small motorised tool.

I ordered online Monday afternoon shortly after the deal was posted, I spoke to Dyson on Tuesday morning, and they agreed to add the Clean & Tidy kit as I am an existing customer. Since then, I had a despatch notification for the kit, no email/text regarding tracking number as promised. Nothing about the actual vacuum itself except via Twitter I got the same "we were very busy" excuse, but they've clearly processed orders from Tuesday morning ahead of my online order the night before.
I just hope their engineering is better than their order processing.

Mine also came in the last hour.
Left on the doorstep without knocking though.
Now I can return the John Lewis stock!
To be fair to Dyson, we both ordered at 8.03-8.05AM - we were definitely the first 5 to 10 orders of the day over the telephone so they do seem to be delivering somewhat in the order they received.
I would certainly chase Dyson if you ordered one on Monday or before as the order rush started on Tuesday morning. They should definitely have delivered those from Monday.

Ordered by phone at around 7pm yesterday and spoke to a really helpful lady who agreed the free tool kit and got a confirmation email pretty much immediately. She did say they were massively busy because of the offer even then so must have been even busier today! Got the email with Parcelforce tracking details this afternoon so all set for delivery tomorrow hopefully. After being on the phone with Dyson again, they advised I'm not getting it tomorrow either. Their system 'broke' my order and so all I can do is re-order. If I do, delivery will be on Monday. They said that this is because of the number of orders they received in this 24 hour period and many customers experienced the same problem. I did have to call THREE times for them to realise this though....Oh and after all this - still no clean and tidy toolkit. Just WOW.

Thank you for contacting Dyson Owner Support.
I am sorry to hear that you've encountered a problem adding the free tools onto your order.
Although the promotional tool kit is available when orders are placed directly over our Helpline, I am afraid that as this is an exclusive offer for our existing customers and therefore wouldn’t appear on any online order.
On accessing your account I am able to see that you an existing owner and I have therefore placed an order for these free tools.

Thanks for this. I missed out on the deal at JL so I went for this instead. Got 1.51% TCB which tracked immediately. Ordered at 5.00pm yesterday and arrived with free delivery at 11.50am today. The products are good, but I'm also disappointed by their shipping. I've been in touch with them via Twitter also, and they say I ordered today so I'll get a text from Parcelfarce when it's in their hands. But I didn't order today, I ordered yesterday at 16.45.... But I'll let it go, they did at least order the free accessory kit when I called them earlier without any hassle.

I ordered this yesterday at 4:30PM and didn't get a confirmation email until 2AM.
It should have been delivered today but it hasn't been. Called in the morning and they said I'll get it tomorrow. On the phone now as it still hasn't been shipped, but they don't think it will get delivered tomorrow either.
I'm somewhat confused - they have 1 job - to ship what I paid for, and they seem to be unable to do so, and the response from customer services (both times) has been - can't you just wait.

I paid £170 for mine a couple of months ago. We find ours very useful. It's much more powerful than what you'd think. I only use the motorised the tool. The tools in the kit are no use to me. They're stored away in garage.

Were you previously a Dyson customer and on their systems?
We'd had a Dyson previous and registered our details and so when ordering just needed to give payment details.
If they're just setting you up as a new customer on their systems maybe it's a different process?
No reason why you couldn't call to confirm or ask via their Live Chat.

if we are referring to the following tools, they come as a standard in the box even for JohnLewis orders...
I bought one of these 18 months ago on a Black Friday deal. They really are very good. It's worth while buying the wand and the motorised brush bar attachment.
The hand unit of the DC58 and DC59 are the same. Dyson claim they are not but I guess that's so they can price them differently.

No, they're not. The software is different. It will run the motorised floor head fine but it will affect the overall battery health.

dannyjones106

You can add the pipe and motorised floor tool if you want and it will work fine, but you might not get the same battery life / longevity as the control board on the DC58 isn't optimised for the motorised floor tool.

23 May 16#26
Fab ordered over phone!
lilbeastie
23 May 161#25
I'm pretty sure you can, although I don't think Dyson list it as compatible.
The 'long pipe' compatible ones are the ones with the electric contacts under the suction nozzle connector so that they can work with the motorised floor heads - and all the animal versions have these contacts (as they're required to make the small motorised brush that it comes with work).
The motorised head and long pipe adds a fair bit to the cost though...

Hi Nigel,
Apologies for the delay in getting back to you.
I have been advised that your order will be processed tonight and delivery should be on Saturday or Monday. A dispatch email will be with you shortly.
Please accept my apologies for the inconvenience caused.
I did get the 3 accessory tools though in the worlds most over the top packaging.
Anyone else still waiting or should I start chasing them?
What are you guys using this for - I cant think of anything else then cleaning the car - and maybe using one of the kit extensions for dust.
Another one... the name Animal - is it to relate to users with with pets as I guess it can be useful for cleaning animal hair etc..
Horses for courses really, I've bought the DC59 to supliment a normal push around, but I still intend to use the big powered head on the stairs for example.
Really impressed with my first Dyson. May even buy a full size one when my Miele dies.
Even comes with a very nice storage bag for all my tools.
So I paid just less than £144 and got a brand new DC58, Genuine Dyson Wand and £65 worth of extra tools and storage bag!
I just hope their engineering is better than their order processing.
"Thank you for your email.
Due to the high volume of orders received during the promotional offer period, we are experiencing a slight delay processing these orders. However, your order is due to be processed shortly and you will receive an email from us when it has been dispatched.
Please accept my apologies for the inconvenience this may cause."
I'm still not impressed as they obviously don't process orders in the order they're received !
So it seems some people who ordered on the phone Tuesday morning have now received their Dyson?
Time to get a Twitter campaign trending, #DysonSucks might not be the best hashtag though.
I checked Tracking for Parcelforce and it says the very helpful "Out for delivery".
So they've no idea when stock is arriving or when my order will be shipped, superb.
Needless to say I cancelled my john lewis order.
you can still get for £118.97 click link and follow simple instructions
I am sorry to hear that you've encountered a problem adding the free tools onto your order.
Although the promotional tool kit is available when orders are placed directly over our Helpline, I am afraid that as this is an exclusive offer for our existing customers and therefore wouldn’t appear on any online order.
On accessing your account I am able to see that you an existing owner and I have therefore placed an order for these free tools.
For those who've missed out or been told "no", email [email protected] and see how you get along.
The plastic in dysons is garbage
I said that I had called earlier and was quoted £118.99. (This was true I had called earlier)
On the plus side (hopefully), I gave the operator the serial number of my old Dyson and she added the kit to my order, 7-10 days back order, but that's OK.
You just need to push and insist and they will honour it.
Since emailed them to state that as an existing customer I was annoyed that people seem to be getting a better deal, we'll see.
In the Box:
Mini Motorised Tool, Combination Tool, Rigid Crevice Tool
Pushed them on seeing the email that had "just" been sent and then was promptly put on hold!! Got the DC58 and cleaning kit - although cleaning kit is on back order.
card declined! order not processed -
So I checked with the bank - 6 pending (approved) transactions from Dyson for 118.97
they confirmed that the transaction was canceled but I have to wait for dyson to clear on their end;
not a happy bunny
Probably worth just ordering through the website now rather than wasting time on the phone.
How did you guess the address and name of owner to which the machine is registered.
I've gone for this model became the cheaper one on HUKD is frankly rubbish.
Nice one OP
Ive been waiting for one of these to drop to a reasonable price for a while.
Thanks OP
