I tried it with the motorized tool first, it seemed to pick up a lot of dust from the stairs, which is impressive considering I used my cylinder Dyson on the same area earlier this week.

Are you using it with the motorised tool? And without the max power button.

Mine has been delivered, gave it a quick try on the stairs and its very powerful!

i spoke to them yesterday as well, they said new machines arrived a day ago and system automatically updated the stock levels, therefore it was showing 1 day delivery on the website, but previous orders would be processed first. This morning, both of my orders were still pending but now they are showing processing. Hopefully i should get them tomorrow.

much more useful machine with the larger motorised head and extension pole, like the above user I cant seem to think of much to clean with just a 'hand held' whereas the powered extension pole and bigger head allows for more use.

I got fed up with waiting for the DC58 so ordered the refurbished DC59 from the Dyson eBay outlet on Sunday and it's being delivered today !

I got mine! but I dont find it THAT powerful as others have mentioned ... (I read somewhere that its as powerful as a cars engine..??)

What are you guys using this for - I cant think of anything else then cleaning the car - and maybe using one of the kit extensions for dust.

"Thank you for your recent order with Dyson.

I placed my order at 5:30pm on Monday 23/5, I've never had to wait so long for an item that was "available immediately" for "next day delivery" !

Has anyone got any updates on delivery. Website now shows stock as available for immediate despatch. However im still being told to wait 1-2 weeks for delivery.

This arrived this morning, when registering the serial number on the website the warranty advised was for 2 years, reading comments on other threads this is quite common, so thanks I'll enjoy my 2 year warranty.

So you must intend to use the wand with the small powered head as you mention that it powers it ok.
Horses for courses really, I've bought the DC59 to supliment a normal push around, but I still intend to use the big powered head on the stairs for example.

Don't need the Big head TBH. My other vacuum is a Miele for vacuuming around the house. I just need the Dyson for spiders, moths (that's why I bought the wand) and small spills upstairs.

Really impressed with my first Dyson. May even buy a full size one when my Miele dies.

but you still don't have the normal size powered head or wall mounted charging docking station that comes with DC59, fair do's with the extra tools but honestly they look like their a bit niche anyway. No bag needed as the extra tools fit onto the docking station.

Also, I received my free tools today via Royal Mail.

Even comes with a very nice storage bag for all my tools.

So I paid just less than £144 and got a brand new DC58, Genuine Dyson Wand and £65 worth of extra tools and storage bag!

I ordered the long thing via Flubit for £25.03 and came today via Kenco Spares/Amazon. It's an original Dyson part and fits my DC58 and it doesn't wobble at all. It also definitely powers the small motorised tool.

Rcd the tidy kit but no dc58. I had placed order at 8.35am. Called up Dyson and was told due to high volume of sales- DC58 will be delayed and will take upto 7 days. My order email confirmed "available immediately" and hence I wasn't very impressed however he offered me an extra filter for the delay.

Ordered on Tuesday at 11.50 and promised next day delivery, nothing yet. I emailed askdyson no reply, so phoned and told no delivery until next week! Discusted from Kent.

I ordered online Monday afternoon shortly after the deal was posted, I spoke to Dyson on Tuesday morning, and they agreed to add the Clean & Tidy kit as I am an existing customer. Since then, I had a despatch notification for the kit, no email/text regarding tracking number as promised. Nothing about the actual vacuum itself except via Twitter I got the same "we were very busy" excuse, but they've clearly processed orders from Tuesday morning ahead of my online order the night before.

I just hope their engineering is better than their order processing.

Left on the doorstep without knocking though.

Now I can return the John Lewis stock!

To be fair to Dyson, we both ordered at 8.03-8.05AM - we were definitely the first 5 to 10 orders of the day over the telephone so they do seem to be delivering somewhat in the order they received.

I would certainly chase Dyson if you ordered one on Monday or before as the order rush started on Tuesday morning. They should definitely have delivered those from Monday.

Now also in receipt of the free 'Clean and Tidy Kit' that was offered to those who ordered over the phone :sunglasses:

Yes, sent them an email yesterday evening and received the following response :-

"Thank you for your email.

Are you sure it's not tucked away? It's located in the bottom of one of the cardboard supports that holds the actual main unit in the box - it's not packed loose with the other two.

It's now more than 48 hours since I placed my online order but, despite having had an email order confirmation and the transaction showing as "pending" on my credit card, I'm still waiting for it to be despatched ! Very frustrating :-(

After being on the phone with Dyson again, they advised I'm not getting it tomorrow either. Their system 'broke' my order and so all I can do is re-order. If I do, delivery will be on Monday. They said that this is because of the number of orders they received in this 24 hour period and many customers experienced the same problem. I did have to call THREE times for them to realise this though....Oh and after all this - still no clean and tidy toolkit. Just WOW.

Thanks for this. I missed out on the deal at JL so I went for this instead. Got 1.51% TCB which tracked immediately. Ordered at 5.00pm yesterday and arrived with free delivery at 11.50am today. Brilliant service. Vac itself has been charged and tried out and seems perfect for the job it was designed for - doing the car, odd small spillages etc.

The products are good, but I'm also disappointed by their shipping. I've been in touch with them via Twitter also, and they say I ordered today so I'll get a text from Parcelfarce when it's in their hands. But I didn't order today, I ordered yesterday at 16.45.... I ordered this yesterday at 4:30PM and didn't get a confirmation email until 2AM.

It should have been delivered today but it hasn't been. Called in the morning and they said I'll get it tomorrow. On the phone now as it still hasn't been shipped, but they don't think it will get delivered tomorrow either.

I'm somewhat confused - they have 1 job - to ship what I paid for, and they seem to be unable to do so, and the response from customer services (both times) has been - can't you just wait.

I ordered mine at 08:00 this morning and not got a confirmation email, but just called them and they said the order is fine, just their machines are slow today. Will be delivered tomorrow.

I remember calling Dyson support numerous times in this regard and they always said no extension pipe is compatible with this handheld models.I know peeple attach them anyways but if you read online most are saying it will be a loose fit and they ended up using scotch tape to secure it..that's not what I want.

Dyson are offering an additional tool kit to existing customers who purchase a new Vacuum. The "Clean and Tidy" Kit.

Even if its saying "In the Box: Mini Motorised Tool. Combination Tool. Rigid Crevice Tool" - the motorised tool different to what you get over the phone?

Because they aren't the free tools people speak of. The kit includes the "up top tool" the "rigid brush" and another.

Do not stress yourselves over the free kit. I'v not used mine even once. I just use the mortised tool, rigid crevice tool and the combination tool, which are supplied with the Dyson DC58

Must be due to the sheer number of calls and their imminently depleting "free kits". Poor customer services as no doubt many people are going to annoyed at them when it's really a senior management thing. (If you really do want to complain, do it to the manager, not the junior employee who is just a messenger at near minimum wage)

I paid £170 for mine a couple of months ago. We find ours very useful. It's much more powerful than what you'd think. I only use the motorised the tool. The tools in the kit are no use to me. They're stored away in garage.

they are not meant to be used on these handheld ones.will fit loose and you will need tapes etc to secure it.not ideal at all.

I bought one of these 18 months ago on a Black Friday deal. They really are very good. It's worth while buying the wand and the motorised brush bar attachment.

The hand unit of the DC58 and DC59 are the same. Dyson claim they are not but I guess that's so they can price them differently.

I can confirm that you can use the extension pipe with this model. We have and it works fine.

You can add the pipe and motorised floor tool if you want and it will work fine,but you might not get the same battery life / longevity as the control board on the DC58 isn't optimised for the motorised floor tool.

I'm pretty sure you can, although I don't think Dyson list it as compatible.

The 'long pipe' compatible ones are the ones with the electric contacts under the suction nozzle connector so that they can work with the motorised floor heads - and all the animal versions have these contacts (as they're required to make the small motorised brush that it comes with work).

The motorised head and long pipe adds a fair bit to the cost though...

It's same price but not in stock for delivery. Only certain stores have them..

Nice find been needing a 2nd one for odd jobs around the house with decent battery.Already have the animal version and its brilliant.This dosent have all the tools but thats fine for me.This is a steal.Wosh I could vote twice.Hot from me.
