Random comment. I prefer bananas to apples.

It was a valid point. The posted deal was about an offer for gloss paint. The fact that someone prefers satinwood has no bearing on the deal. Likewise, if someone found a great deal on apples, i would not see any reason to let people know i prefer an alternative fruit.

I'd rather use eggshell, but this is still an excellent deal for those who use gloss.

So if I see a deal on here for a car it's relevant I post that I would rather drive something else? Nobody cares about your preferences!

Then go and buy satinwood and leave the rest of us to buy gloss if we want to.

Hi, I use a decent brush e.g. Purdy, and depending on brand of paint, you might have to use a liquid gloss technique such as feathering to have no streaks or brush marks. PM me if you need any further info.

I've just used Johnstones matt/soft sheen and satin white paint for my walls/skirting. I agree with the above comment about satin - it is for amateurs! Johnstones paints are fantastic in my opinion; more like a trade paint than the godawful stuff Dulux tend to produce, or indeed Crown for that matter. Not quite up there with F&B, however, it's about a tenth of the price tag!
Done all my skirting with satin (1 coat) but realised after it's too dull for my liking, so it'll be getting a nice coat of crisp, white gloss shortly!

Good price for this not in Wytheshawe wilkos though think it was 9 pound on Saturday, satinwood is for amateurs, well painted wood in gloss which looks like glass compared to a half dull/half shiny doesn't know what it is satinwood, there is no contest imo.

Satin/gloss. Petrol/diesel. People have preferences. Yes we know satinwood is an alternative. This deal's on gloss. Move on!

I'll never use this again. we did all the woodwork in our house with it three years ago and it started to yellow in the first year. areas where there's furniture close to the painted surface went really yellow writhing a few months.

It's mad isn't it? All you do is a bit of painting and before you know it you have yellow writhing going on

this is a tip! Try using satin wood instead much easier to use than gloss.

heat added for bargain price.....having used gloss in the past and how it turns yellow after a period of time....I have started to use Dulux satin paints.....whites are superb and being water based brushes and spills are easy to clean...just painted three bedrooms/bathroom/hallway on my week hols...totally whacked....but impressed with the Dulux paints I got from Wickes(buy one get one free)....house looks better....can't say the same about me tho....more paint on me than walls.
