If they put out all the SNES titles for £1.99 and the NES ones for 99p they'd sell 100 times better than they currently do I think. I'd buy pretty much everything, instead of nothing.

Too expensive for something you can emulate for free with better controller support, sound, video options etc. Also I still own all 3 on snes before the piracy police come.

Well, you've just spoiled the whole bloody game. Thanks a lot!

Nintendo still isn't quite there yet to have Steam-like sales. But they'll get there eventually, hell, they've started making a lot of improvements already.

My favourite of the series  I didn't enjoy the first much, due to it having nothing to collect. Just... make it through the level essentially. The second had Kremkoins and DK coins, and this Bonus coins, banana birds, dk coins and stuff to buy. No wonder I loved Banjo Kazooie, tooie and DK64

about time nintendo put another snes game on the virtual console, wish they would pump out 2 a week instead of every few weeks, its like they dont want to make easy money, now they just need to get those awesome snes street fighter games out on it

Great game but don't know why Nintendo are so miserly about their VC releases, why not put all three up? Unless these have any added features or make use of the 3D then emulating SNES games on a 3DS is probably pretty trivial considering the horsepower difference.
Still not a bad price at all for the amount of gameplay here and I bet it looks great on the 3DS screen (larger screens can show up the limitations of the digitised sprites DK uses)

I couldn't agree more. I'm sure when the NX is released they'll do the same thing all over again with similar high prices for their older games.

I bought most of the good Nintendo games first time round and still buying Wii U games now, if I want to replay old games I'll do so under emulation, Nintendo's pricing is mostly outrageous!

Ah yes, I remember popping this cart into my SNES and thinking why aren't all games as graphically superior as this title! I bought it for all of my Nintendo consoles - including an extra set of bongos for the Gamecube (remember that one?)!
Head added for the heads up!

£4.99 is way too expensive.anyone can emulate them for free on hundreds of devices.they should be £2 maybe £3 max to encourage buyers..no wonder Nintendo is not doing well.and before anyone becomes defensive I love these games and own all 3 on original super famicom carts.but I would never pay £5 for virtual console versions.

hold tight, summers here and if the person who decides what snes VC games to release has the departmental brain cell that week we might get some luck. + if they released pilotwings they could release anything.

Is this as simple as needing a 3ds and an SD card then download from the eShop?

You'll need a New 3DS rather than the original model, but otherwise yes (the system should come with the necessary micro SD card, so long as there's still sufficient free space).

Wait... It only works on the New 3DS. How come? It doesn't seem like it would push the limits of the old model.

oh but it does. Some think it's a marketing ploy but im not convinced. The extra oomph (minor oomph) that the new model has must put it over the top emulation wise. There is a difference in how some games perform on both systems. Emulation can be a racing thing. God i really want super tennis now.
