Yeah a lot of junk spec laptops in the outlet right now with the bad low DPI screens. So nothing for anyone to rush out and buy tonight.

What's your deffo of junk? Seems to be mostly 1080p and 4k; either would be okay to me.

brilliant machine, using one right now.
make sure you get one with the larger 84w/hr battery.

No SSD and only the 56 watt battery, better off waiting for some more refurbs to go up on the store

I don't need the extra battery, I also went for the cheapest 1tb + 32gb ssd so I can upgrade to a samsung 950 pro pcie ssd. If you want cheaper, the smaller battery allows a standard 2.5" ssd in the place of the 1tb hdd

Are the batteries user replacable, in the sense can I fit the larger battery if I remove the hdd and put an m.2 in it only?

Gutted I missed this Ordered mine from MS store with 15% and 105 quidco (£810) and set up this morning, missed out on last 15% discount code end of April for dell outlet
I Went i5 1tb + 32 non touch screen. Reason - current laptop is touch screen and glossy is a pain, IMO don't need touch with win 10 like you did with win 8 and 4k is pointless on a 15" screen for my uses. Hdd comes with sata connector (ssd option doesn't, but kit can be ordered from dell) and I use steam, so easily upgrade to 2tb and there is room from a m.2 2280. which I will order when I get back from Holiday for the os to sit on.
From what I have experienced so for, its a great laptop, screen is great (No yellow hue) heyboard feels nice and touch pad much better than my lenovo. Only grip is I am a developer and to use the End and Home keys quite a bit and they are now function keys with the direction pad, which isnt cool considering how much space around the keyboard there is!
I bought one Dell XPS 9350 laptop last week from dell outlet. On regular web browsing, I am getting less than 4 hours battery as against claims of upto 18 hours. I am thinking of returning.

Are you on the 4k version? Also, I believe there was a bios update which dramatically improves battery life, make sure you've updated.

Is it hassle free to return to dell? Do they collect? Thinking Of getting an Alienware but not sure if I will like the weight etc. If only they had the 970m on the xps

I have ordered the exact same one from MicrosoftStore (which is a mess by the way). It's a bit disappointing about the End/Home keys - I am dev too. I do think there are ways to remap the keys though, are there any keys that could be sacrificed?

+1 on the Microsoft store comment. They sent me an email advertising the XPS 13 for £672 (obviously wouldn't honor it), took them 3 days to get the laptop to their carrier, despite me paying for express. Just hope it arrives at this stage.
And their agents are completely powerless, may as well just have automated phone systems, would be cheaper and offer the same service.

I have this machine bought it last month. For £900 brand new with i7 500ssd 4k screen 16gb big battery. Thinking of selling it due to needing a bigger graphics card for work
+2 on the Microsoft comment, ordered Express Delivery and status still says 'back-ordered' even tho apparently in stock. Spoke to customer service who said I should give it another day, at which point I told them I will be requesting a refund for paying for Express Delivery... but apparently the Express Delivery counts from the dispatch, not order confirmation. Will argue that tomorrow. Ridiculous.

Let me know how it goes, I'll be arguing for my express deliver to be refunded too. Will let you know if I get it and how.

Yes they are but very rare to get an genuine original from anywhere apart from Dell.
I asked them before I bought an xps 9550 and they only have refurbished batteries - even then not guaranteed to be available - weren't cheap around £80 I vaguely recall. This is the part number:

I just bought the laptop with the bigger battery instead.

I think even 960M barely fits in that frame, it is not designed as a gaming laptop, but as a laptop that can handle some games. Anyway what do you want the 970M for that 960M can't deliver? (Obviously 970M is better, but it would amount for about 10fps at most (okay depending on settings) so in most cases it won't make that much of a difference.). Neither can handle anything serious on 4k and both can handle most stuff on 1080p.

My MS store experience was ok, having to pay £10 shipping on a £1k laptop was a bit of a joke, but ordered last Wednesday and received it Friday.
Not comfortably, problem being is that because its on the direction key, as you know. we use them to jump lines. as I was thinking of switching to just end. Bit annoyed at this as all my 13" past devices have managed to include the end and home btn separate, bit of a design over sight by dell designers imo.

Those were all touch screen when I posted. I ordered one myself. Looks like they've all gone today as just the lousy 32GB SSD + 1TB 5400 RPM is available.
Given the problems there has been with drivers for these machines with even the supported OS (Windows 10), I doubt it would run well with Windows 7.

There was a seller on eBay selling it for 29.99 then bumped it up to 34.99.
Out of stock just now though.
I got the Adore June Classic pouch sleeve however since it has padding and is cheaper. It's great quality and no risk of laptop sliding out from the Velcro fastening.
Edit: there is another seller with them for 29.99 but refurb.

Doesn't offer much in terms of protection. However, looks sleek and works nicely when using it as a base on a soft surface. You could charge the laptop too whilst its still in the sleeve.

Having the well reported touchpad issues with mine so it's going back for a refund. Have tried the Synaptics driver but scrolling and clicking only works 75% of the time which makes this unusable.
Shame as the screen is very nice.
